"Ryder Hawke, you are hereby suspended from your role as an officer for three days." A hoarse voice came, glaring at a young handsome figure with white hair.
"Sir I don't understand what's going on..." Ryder stuttered, looking at his superior in shock. "You let three criminals who were under your watch escape, what do you think you deserve for that?" The voice demanded, filled with anger. "But...." "Next time, be more careful about who you trust.” The man interrupted Ryder. "Also, the three day suspension you are given is not a holiday for you. You are to capture those criminals and bring them back to the station, or else you'll be dismissed." The man threatened. Ryder's eyes opened wide in shock hearing what his superior said. He wanted to say something, but the words were stuck in his throat. "Now, get out of my office." He commanded, pointing at the door. "Yes sir." Ryder saluted and turned around, walking out of the office with a bitter smile. He didn't try to plead and this was because his sentence was light. If not for the fact that his superior favored him, he was supposed to be dismissed. What had happened was that the night before when he was supposed to be on watch, he had a running stomach and asked one of his colleagues to take his place. Who would have known that his colleague would take a bribe and release the criminals in the cell who were supposed to be transported to the state prison the next day? His superior was so angry and he was suspended. He was lucky that it was just a suspension. In a normal case, he was supposed to be dismissed and arrested. It was why his superior had told him to capture the criminal in three days if he wanted to keep his job. Ryder sighed as he walked out of the police station, climbed his rather old scooter, and headed home. It had been three years since he graduated from the police academy and was now a police officer. He was an honest officer and wouldn't accept bribes like most of his colleagues; this made them look down on him, and he was scorned. The only person that didn't scorn him was his superior and he would often encourage Ryder to keep up with the good work and that soon, he would be promoted. Now, Ryder didn't see the chance of promotion again. All his past credits would be dismissed because of what had happened yesterday. He was going to have to start from the beginning again. But there was nothing he could do about it. He was already suspended, now he had to think of a way to capture back the criminals who had escaped. "Huh?" Ryder suddenly frowned as his bike came to a stop. The old scooter was faulty once more. Trying his best to start it, the scooter refused to start and Ryder couldn't help but alight from the scooter and kicked it angrily. The scooter shook and fell due to the force Ryder had applied on it. Ryder sighed and looked around, he knew he had to look for a way. It was getting dark already, and where he was was deserted, so he had to leave as soon as he could. "Need some help with that?" A hoarse voice came just as Ryder was lost in his thoughts. "No, there's no need, I'll figure it..." Ryder muttered, but froze amidst his words staring at the figure in front of him. Weren't they the criminals his colleague allowed to escape? Yes, there was no doubt they were the ones, and they had about ten people holding batons behind them. "Dear police officer, how about we help you?" One of the men, a tall, bulky figure, chuckled walking towards Ryder slowly. "Stand back or I'll shoot." Ryder threatened, putting his hands into his belt-mounted holster to take his pistol, but the next moment his expression changed. He had forgotten the pistol at the station. How was he going to survive this? Though this thought ran in his mind, there was no hint of fear on his face as he glared at the men. "You forgot your gun, huh?" The criminals laughed. "Doesn't matter; I don't need it anyway." Ryder scoffed, seemingly rather fearless. But in reality, his heart was in an Olympic race, trying to outrun others. "We'll see about that." The criminal chuckled and then glanced at his men. "Beat him up." He commanded. Before Ryder could say anything, he was surrounded. “Arghhhh!” Ryder screamed in pain, raising his hands, covering his head to prevent the baton from hitting it. Soon, he was covered in blood, and his breathing was labored; all parts of his body were swollen. "Next time, I'll see if you'll have the guts to keep watch on me, or not release me when I command you to." The criminals spat on Ryder before turning around and walking away. Ryder lay on the floor helpless, all his bones broken and covered in blood. His breathing was labored, and there was no way he was going to survive this if he didn't get any medical attention. But even if he got better, it was hard to say if he was going to recover. Was this how he was going to die? His dreams of avenging his parents, which was the real reason he joined the police force to be able to apprehend the criminals, were all going to be shattered. How was his sister going to feel? He wanted to see her even for the last time. He wanted to tell her a lot of things, but at the moment, he was on the brink of death and there was no possibility that someone was going to save him. "Ding!" "System Activated." "Commencing automatic recovery." Ryder heard a voice in his head and before he could think too much about it, he felt a warm stream of current flow into his body stimulating the pain in his body and making it intense. "Arghhhh!" Ryder screamed again, not being able to take the pain, and directly lost consciousness.Latest Chapter

Tired?
"Ryder, it's been a while," Henry's hoarse voice came from the other end of the phone."Yes it is," Ryder chuckled, knowing he was calling to congratulate him."Ryder," Selena's voice also sounded as she called,"How have you been?" She asked, her tone filled with concern."I'm good," Ryder responded. He heated conversations like this, but there was absolutely nothing he could do about it, so he could only wait to hear what they had to say."We heard about what you did," Selena said, the concern in her voice increased."And I just say you've done a good job," She continued, complimenting him."The higher ups have taken notice of you and I'm sure soon enough you'll be promoted and transferred," Henry chuckled, chipping in.Ryder's eyes flashed with a glint hearing this. That was just perfect for what he wanted. Also, he understood what Henry was implying. His actions this time nearly exposed some certain individuals, thus they would transfer him so he would stop being able to have infl

Heads Up
In a flash, five hours had passed since the incident. At the moment, the Internet was on fire as everyone rained curses on Jake and his family. Some even took it upon themselves to write a petition so Jake would be arrested, after all, what he had done was vile. But that wasn't it all, the video seemed to have spread nationwide. It was as though there was an invisible hand behind the scenes pushing everything and thus reaching the height it had reached. And thus, for that day, there was quite an unrest as everyone was talking, demanding Jake be charged in court..At the center of all of these was Ryder sitting and munching some snacks as though what was happening was none of his business.Well, he was the one who orchestrated everything, so there was no way he was going to panic. Besides everything was going just how he wanted."It's time to head to work," Ryder suddenly grinned, standing up from the sofa preparing to head to the station. He was confident the higher-ups would call him
Minutes Later
A few minutes later, the taxi Ryder boarded pulled up before Kelvin's villa.Alighting from the taxi, Ryder paid the driver and proceeded into the building.Seeing him, Kelvin's men bowed lightly, and then went to inform their master about Rdyer's arrival."It's such a pleasure meeting you again," Kelvin chuckled, walking out of the Villa to meet Ryder who was at the door."Come on in," He continued, inviting him in.Walking into the Villa, Ryder sat on the sofa while Kelvin sat opposite him wondering why Ryder came to visit. But he didn't say anything. He knew the latter a little too well. There was no way he would come here without a purpose."Sir, have some water," The maid placed a glass cup and bottled water on the table before turning around to leave.Ryder smiled gently and then slowly opened the bottled water, then turned to Kelvin."I need your help," He stated, pouring the water slowly into the glass cup."Huh?" Kelvin froze hearing as he couldn't believe his ears. Ryder wan
