Chapter 1
Suspended
"Ryder Hawke, you are hereby suspended from your role as an officer for three days." A hoarse voice came, glaring at a young handsome figure with white hair.
"Sir I don't understand what's going on..." Ryder stuttered, looking at his superior in shock. "You let three criminals who were under your watch escape, what do you think you deserve for that?" The voice demanded, filled with anger. "But...." "Next time, be more careful about who you trust.” The man interrupted Ryder. "Also, the three day suspension you are given is not a holiday for you. You are to capture those criminals and bring them back to the station, or else you'll be dismissed." The man threatened. Ryder's eyes opened wide in shock hearing what his superior said. He wanted to say something, but the words were stuck in his throat. "Now, get out of my office." He commanded, pointing at the door. "Yes sir." Ryder saluted and turned around, walking out of the office with a bitter smile. He didn't try to plead and this was because his sentence was light. If not for the fact that his superior favored him, he was supposed to be dismissed. What had happened was that the night before when he was supposed to be on watch, he had a running stomach and asked one of his colleagues to take his place. Who would have known that his colleague would take a bribe and release the criminals in the cell who were supposed to be transported to the state prison the next day? His superior was so angry and he was suspended. He was lucky that it was just a suspension. In a normal case, he was supposed to be dismissed and arrested. It was why his superior had told him to capture the criminal in three days if he wanted to keep his job. Ryder sighed as he walked out of the police station, climbed his rather old scooter, and headed home. It had been three years since he graduated from the police academy and was now a police officer. He was an honest officer and wouldn't accept bribes like most of his colleagues; this made them look down on him, and he was scorned. The only person that didn't scorn him was his superior and he would often encourage Ryder to keep up with the good work and that soon, he would be promoted. Now, Ryder didn't see the chance of promotion again. All his past credits would be dismissed because of what had happened yesterday. He was going to have to start from the beginning again. But there was nothing he could do about it. He was already suspended, now he had to think of a way to capture back the criminals who had escaped. "Huh?" Ryder suddenly frowned as his bike came to a stop. The old scooter was faulty once more. Trying his best to start it, the scooter refused to start and Ryder couldn't help but alight from the scooter and kicked it angrily. The scooter shook and fell due to the force Ryder had applied on it. Ryder sighed and looked around, he knew he had to look for a way. It was getting dark already, and where he was was deserted, so he had to leave as soon as he could. "Need some help with that?" A hoarse voice came just as Ryder was lost in his thoughts. "No, there's no need, I'll figure it..." Ryder muttered, but froze amidst his words staring at the figure in front of him. Weren't they the criminals his colleague allowed to escape? Yes, there was no doubt they were the ones, and they had about ten people holding batons behind them. "Dear police officer, how about we help you?" One of the men, a tall, bulky figure, chuckled walking towards Ryder slowly. "Stand back or I'll shoot." Ryder threatened, putting his hands into his belt-mounted holster to take his pistol, but the next moment his expression changed. He had forgotten the pistol at the station. How was he going to survive this? Though this thought ran in his mind, there was no hint of fear on his face as he glared at the men. "You forgot your gun, huh?" The criminals laughed. "Doesn't matter; I don't need it anyway." Ryder scoffed, seemingly rather fearless. But in reality, his heart was in an Olympic race, trying to outrun others. "We'll see about that." The criminal chuckled and then glanced at his men. "Beat him up." He commanded. Before Ryder could say anything, he was surrounded. “Arghhhh!” Ryder screamed in pain, raising his hands, covering his head to prevent the baton from hitting it. Soon, he was covered in blood, and his breathing was labored; all parts of his body were swollen. "Next time, I'll see if you'll have the guts to keep watch on me, or not release me when I command you to." The criminals spat on Ryder before turning around and walking away. Ryder lay on the floor helpless, all his bones broken and covered in blood. His breathing was labored, and there was no way he was going to survive this if he didn't get any medical attention. But even if he got better, it was hard to say if he was going to recover. Was this how he was going to die? His dreams of avenging his parents, which was the real reason he joined the police force to be able to apprehend the criminals, were all going to be shattered. How was his sister going to feel? He wanted to see her even for the last time. He wanted to tell her a lot of things, but at the moment, he was on the brink of death and there was no possibility that someone was going to save him. "Ding!" "System Activated." "Commencing automatic recovery." Ryder heard a voice in his head and before he could think too much about it, he felt a warm stream of current flow into his body stimulating the pain in his body and making it intense. "Arghhhh!" Ryder screamed again, not being able to take the pain, and directly lost consciousness.Expand

The Purifier System Not Again
Walking into the seemingly uncompleted building on the surface, the three were taken aback by what they saw inside the building. The building which looked rather uncompleted on the outside was actually well furnished on the inside. A lot of waiting chairs, and there were about five elevators going down into the underground. At this side was a large table and chair and sitting on it were about five hefty men heavily armed.Ryder, Selena and Henry frowned slightly seeing this. Seemed like the Brown family really took their business rather seriously. If these set of five men were this armed, then what about the rest? They were sure there were other guards around, just in case someone wanted to try something."Please, your tickets," A feminine voice came, pulling the three out of their thoughts.Looking up, they came in face with a haughty look in young lady in high heels and skimpy clothes, chewing a gum as she stretchd out her hands.Without any delay, Ryder gave the lady his ticket. The Purifier System It's Your fault
"Can you pass the phone to Henry?" Ryder requested the instant Selena answered the call."Sure," Selena agreed, though she was shocked as she didn't understand what was wrong.."Hello," Came Henry's voice from the other end of the phone."I'm not sure, but I think I could use your help for something critical," Ryder stated, going straight to the point. He didn't have much time any more. He needed to know what was wrong with Fiona. If she has run off on her own, then it was fine. But if she was abducted, then there was a need to rush. Those men would have done some stuff to her and he wouldn't be able to take it."What do you need my help for?" Henry frowned slightly, feeling the urgency in Rdyer's voice."I think someone has been abducted, I need to trace her before it's too late," Ryder revealed, then told Henry what had happened."If that's the case, we need to hurry up," Henry replied, his tone was also serious."Meet us at the mall, we'll start right away. This can't be delayed,"

The Purifier System Promoted
"What are you trying to insinuate?" Selena's expression changed as she stared at Henry. "That the higher ups are involved in this?" "Nope, that's not exactly what I'm trying to say," Henry shook his head, his brows narrowing into a thin line. "When I called the bureau and told them what we were searching for and the street we were heading to, I could sense a bit of change in their actions," Henry revealed, his expression getting darker with each second. "Though I'm not sure if I'm wrong, but I could definitely tell something is wrong somewhere, we can't risk informing them," Henry concluded, turning back to Ryder. Selena's expression changed slightly, her brows narrowing in confusion, but ultimately, she didn't call for the backup and placed the phone back into her pocket. "Sorry about that Ryder," Henry apologized, "so what's the next thing, I'm sure you must have a plan in mind," "Yeah I do," Ryder nodded, at this moment, his voice turned serious. He knew this was far

The Purifier System Go Home
Everyone watched as the taxi drove along the road, all holding their breaths. The group had already arrived at the store Ryder stated and were checking out its surveillance footage with the help of the staff. Soon, the vehicle drove past the limits of the camera and disappeared. "Esteemed sirs, I don't think there's a security camera down the lane the taxi drove to," The attendant helping the group spoke, looking over at them. "Yeah, I know about that," Ryder nodded. He was very familiar with Orange County and as a police man would parade most of the places. So he knew about almost all the security cameras. "Thanks for your cooperation, we'll leave now," Henry thanked the man and then the group turned around, leaving the store. "What's the next thing we do?" Selena inquired the moment they stepped out of the store. If there were no security Cameras anymore, then the next thing was to find the cab and interrogate whoever was driving it. But that was going to take a wh
