Chapter 5 First Kill, Killing Without Remorse.
Carl was stuck between a crossroad. He had to make a decision between living and becoming someone he doesn't want to be, or dying and upholding his pride and honor to the very last moments of his life.Does he want the System? Yes, he did. He felt like he could grow stronger if he had the System. But, did he want to become the saviour of the world, a hero of humanity? That was where his doubts steamed from. He wasn't fit to be called a Symbol. Not after the numerous humans he had killed in the battlefield during the great war in his past life. Was he even fit to wear the body of a human?Carl was confused, however, he reminded himself that his goal was to protect the people around him and to save the world if it needed saving. It wasn't to become a Symbol, neither was it a means to try and deceive himself. It was to rip the massive benefits that came from the System and grow stronger, exponentially. And he was against this whole notion of maintaining one's pride and honor.“I ac

Carl extended his hand forward to touch it, but his fingers brushed right through it, as if it weren't there in the first place. It felt ghostly, and surreal. Yet real in every sense.“So I can't touch it physically? But I can control the panel with my thoughts?” Carl deduced as he stroked his chin lightly, as if deep in thought. Then, he examined the neat
Chapter 9 - Exploring The System II

He examined the blue screen once more, deducing that the proficiency of skills were being influenced by each skill level up.Carl paid close attention to this very skill because this was the only offensive skill that he currently had within his arsenal. He mentally reminded himself to focus more on increasing the level and proficiency of this particular skill, until he was able to get a new one to compliment

Chapter 11 - Skill Evolution
This left Carl with [Dash]—his ultimate escape and speed boost skill currently, and [Detoxification]—that could help him increase his resistance to poison or toxic substances and gases, during battle. And last but not the least, [Minor Regeneration]. This skill increases his survivability in battle. It helps to reduce the rate at which he bled while faced off in a heated battle. It also increases the ability for him to recover his lost stamina… and even vitality. [Minor Regeneration] could also fight off the effects of poison or toxic substances and gases, albeit at a slower rate. However, the fact lies that its ability encompasses that of the [Detoxification] skill and even more.Carl had to strike out the [Detoxification] skill, which left him with [Dash] and [Minor Regeneration]. One could increase his Agility stat and speed, and help him maneuver through attacks and dodge incoming assaults. It also served as his trump card in ensuring that he fled away from danger whenever he w

It was simply because his current stats points had far exceeded the previous stats points he had when he'd first awakened and binded with the system. He flexed his muscles involuntarily, and instinctually clenched his palm tightly into a fist. Veins bugled across his arm, surging with immense power! Adrenaline coursing through his veins!Just thirty-five points in his Strength stat and Carl was already this strong? He wondered how powerful he'd become in the future when his stats points eventually reached the three digits thres
Chapter 13 - Hero Bureau
Carl was silent for a while as he gazed at the blue screen with deep scrutiny. The Long Term Quest that he'd been waiting for was finally here. There was something odd about this particular quest! It had a death penalty for failure! However, Carl didn't flinch. He understood the risks behind this path that he chose to trial through. He wasn't afraid to die. But he wasn't planning to die either. After exploring the entire features of the System for several straight hours, Carl felt so exhausted. He yawned as he dove into the comfort of his bed, his eyes closed.Soon he drifted off to sleep.— — —In an office inside the Hero Bureau main headquarters! The silhouettes of two men were revealed inside the office adorned with an intricate interior decor.
