Chapter 11
The thumping bass of Club Moon faded to a distant hum in Damon’s mind as a translucent blue screen shimmered into existence before his eyes. It was like looking through a high-tech window into another dimension, visible only to him.“System,” Damon murmured, his voice barely a whisper, “show me what features are available.”The screen shifted, displaying a grid of icons. Nine of them, neatly arranged. Eight were grayed out, locked and only one glowed with a faint, inviting light.“What are these?” Damon asked, pointing a mental finger at the locked features. “And why are they locked?”“These are your abilities, Host,” the System’s voice resonated directly in his mind, calm and clear. “They are grouped by pages. This is page one. To unlock a feature, you must complete specific challenges or meet certain criteria. Once all features on a page are unlocked, the next page becomes accessible.”“And the next page?” Damon pressed, a flicker of impatience. “Can I see it?”“Negative, host. Prog
Chapter 12
Everyone was stunned and wowed by the ingenious strategy, of Damon. No one saw it coming, as many thought he would just buy drinks like Ernie did in a bid to show off. Aria was impressed as well, and it gave her a little hope that they would win this bet after seeing how resourceful Damon was. Xavier realized their account was down by another $100k, which actually went to Damon. Their total spent was now at $300k; they had $1.2 million left. Xavier, now fully confident, clapped Ernie on the shoulder. “Alright, Ernie! Let’s show him how it’s done!” He turned to the club manager, who was still hovering nearby, his eyes wide with anticipation. “Manager! We want to book the entire club for the rest of the night. How much?”The manager’s eyes lit up. “For the entire night, sir? That would be… five hundred thousand dollars.”“Done!” Xavier declared, pulling out his phone. “Transferring $500,000 now, and once it clears, I want Damon Newton and his… entourage… out of my club. Unless he’s wi

There was no noise at Club Moon. Silenter than the bass that poured through the walls minutes earlier, everything seemed to be tuned in to a new news flash in the flat-screen TV. “Breaking: Unknown Business Tycoon Damon Newton Acquires 79% Majority Stake in Yorkers City Bank in Shock Move, ” the anchors in shock, faces similar to those of all present, briskly scribbled the news update. They told the story of the outrageous takeover by Damon. The club manager, still kneeling before Damon, violently trembled. His face was a sickly gray, all sweat streaked down his forehead. “Mr Newton, ” he choked, his voice clumsy in the stunned silence. “Please, sir, tell me what to do. I’m here at your service. ”Damon watched the crowd wave his arms at him and keep a predatory glow in his eyes. He loved the moment, the whole and complete flip-flop. They had mocked him, they had scorned him and they had despised him, now they lay dormant before him.“You are in charge, you know what to do, ” Damon sa

Now the air in the VIP lounge was flickering with something other than fear. There was no more tension, just anticipation and excitement in the air. Damon, the pauper and harried errand boy, now the king of Club Moon and Aria, the untouchable goddess by his side.Ernie and his rest of his friends, looking just blank on the inside, sat in a corner with tired faces and angry lips, knowing that their lives had just changed dramatically -- now they were Aria's school pets, which meant it was all her business. At that moment Damon turned to Aria, and his face was lit up with a warm smile. ‘Are you ready to leave? ’ he asked, his voice a little more intimate, but I think we’ve seen enough of it for one night.Aria smiled back at him, smiling gleaming with amusement. “Definitely, ” she said in a husky, easy-going tone. “I’m all about some fresh air, maybe a little bit of schadenfreude. ”Damon laughed and took her hand. “Well I'm thinking exactly like that. ” He turned to the manager who was

They kissed again, a kiss that sealed their fate, a kiss that marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. After a while, Aria checked her watch. "I should get going, it's getting late."Damon nodded, sadness in his eyes. "Yeah, me too. I have to get back to my… dorm." He said the word with a grimace. The car pulled up to Damon’s humble hostel. The contrast between the luxury of the car and the rundown building was stark.Aria squeezed his hand. “Thank you for tonight, Damon,” she said, her voice filled with gratitude. “You were amazing.”Damon smiled, his heart swelling with love. “Thank you for being there for me, Aria,” he said. “I couldn’t have done it without you.”He leaned in and kissed her one last time, a lingering kiss that left them both breathless. Then, he stepped out of the limousine, watching as it drove away, disappearing into the night. As Damon walked towards the hostel, his phone buzzed. He pulled it out, seeing a notification from the System.‘Congratulati
Chapter 16
The warm morning sun flared through the wide windows of Damon’s new mansion, lighting the master suite and the suite of his dreamlike escape. He woke up to that lovely sound of waves rolling against the private beach down below, a contrast to the loud and noisy hostel where he had once been. The memories of last night, of all the drama at Club Moon and of Aria’s lips kissing his swept off his canvas like an ocean breeze. It felt like a dream, but for real. The luxurious atmosphere, the soft sheets of his pillow and the faint smell of ocean breeze. He stretched, enjoying the height of comfort from a king-size bed, compared with the gallows-yet-brilliant cot he had taken over. Flexing past the bedside table, he glanced at Felix's silver tray with a cold cup of coffee and a collection of pastries on it. A pleased sigh rose from his lips. This was life he might get used to.As he looked out the window over his coffee, his phone appeared empty. No email. No text. No social media alerts. Al

Damon was so motivated by a deadly combination of desire, and deep love for Aria that he snagged hold of his sword and set to work at once. The first step was to grab control of the University Gala, so he and Aria could turn it from a potential battleground to a stage where they could go on to win, and then he knew just show up and be an honored VIP was not enough. He needed to put his stamp on the entire thing and turn it into his own masterpiece. He made contact with Felix, his very efficient butler who was instructed to go up to the organizing committee for the University Gala. Felix had a trove of contacts and, more important, an unmatched ability to "read" complicated situations."Felix, " Damon muttered clearly and indomitably, "I want you to secure in secret the platinum sponsorship for the University Gala. Go ahead and use one of the companies under Yorkers bank, preferably a low-profile one, so as not to draw too much attention. I want you to have complete control over the pr
Chapter 18
It was a night that was marked by so much excitement and so much anticipation. The huge hall, used for lecture halls, classrooms and the like, was now lit up, music was played and the atmosphere was eminently more festive than ever. A line of students, alumni and faculty in their finest clothes came out of the lobby screaming to attend the social event of the year.Xavier and the guys at his clique, so confident in their social status that they didn’t care what Damon had planned, finally arrived early. They were planning to take their place right by the front door, so as to make Damon and Aria feel as unwelcome as possible. They stood close to the door and began to mock them, with their scripted lines.“Just wait until Damon comes up, ” Mason sneered, adjusting his heavily-strung tie. We’ll just make sure he knows he's out of place here.'And Aria, ' Sierra continued, her eyes flashing with horror, 'we're going to make sure she doesn't forgive him ever again. In the meantime Damon and
Chapter 19
At the first moment when he announced that Damon was a platinum sponsor of the University’s Academy Ball, guests became shocked and dismayed. That shock soon had the effect of making them all excited and speculative, as gathered guests struggled to pin together the idea of the troubled and rebellious student they’d once known and the rich patron who’d just cut corners to save them from embarrassment.Xavier looked around, still reeling from the surprise turn of events. His friends turned to head back to the corner, in the same kind of state of rage and humiliation as when they got busted. Their elaborate plan, to humiliate Damon and Aria horribly, had just gone horribly wrong. Now they had the formidable responsibility of either salvaging their reputation and getting back on their social ladder."This just cannot be happening, '' Xavier murmured, hardly audible over the noise of the crowd. "How did he do that? ""I don't know, " Mason said, his face torn in anger, "but we just can't l

The gala buzzed, a hive of forced smiles and thinly veiled ambition. Damon excused himself from a conversation with a particularly persistent alumnus, pulling Aria aside."I need a minute," he murmured, guiding her towards a quieter corner of the hall."Everything alright?" Aria asked, her brow furrowing with concern. "You seem… tense.""I am," Damon admitted, pulling out his phone. "You see I just did some investigation on the guys and It's… comprehensive."Aria's eyes widened. "Comprehensive how?""Think of it as a deep dive into anyone's digital footprint, plus some… offline intel. I ran it on Xavier's friends.""And?"Damon hesitated. "It's not pretty. Mason's been cheating on exams. Harper's 'charity work' is mostly self-promotion with very little actual… charity. And Liam? His family's not as wealthy as he pretends. They're drowning in debt."Aria's expression turned serious. "Damon, you can't.""Can't what? Expose them? They're trying to ruin us, Aria. They're spreading rumors,
