Everyone's Saviour
"Don't look at me like that. Grab a sword and kill one of these bummers," Rosa said as she dropped a sword at Leo's feet and ran with the other sword towards Hunter's corner where he was fighting two Mecha-men alone. Leo didn't think he needed the sword but he dragged it towards the other end of the corridor where Omal was. Along the way, he gave a playful kick to the bubble that still trapped the Cyborg in there, it bounced away to a side while the Cyborg struggled to bust free. "Don't struggle," Leo said. "Mr. Omal. You might need this," Leo shouted as soon as he got close. He tossed the beast sword at the giant teacher. Omal bent down instantly to grab the sword, as a result, the mecha-man saw an opening. It raised its sword and gave a downward slash, but Leo was quick to come to Omal's rescue. He pushed the button of the device once, twice and at the third time, the mecha-man flew right in the air and crashed heavily against the wall. Leo could see that this mecha-man was indee
Covering The Tracks
"But why must the council dispatch these Mecha-men in our academy? It's annoying. They never trust us, like we teachers are posing a threat to them," Hunter complained bitterly as they packed chips of broken helmets to one side. "That's because we are doing things that makes them suspicious of us. Isn't it obvious?" Allan replied more bitterly. He was still clutching his wounded leg. "If you fight half as much as you talk, you would have become an Avenger by now," Hunter replied heatedly. "Now that one was personal, Hunter. That's a good one, won't lie," Omal said laughing. "Everybody be neglecting the truth," Allan said in low tone. "Let it go for now, Allan. Voice out your discomfort when the kids are gone," Omal warned. "Hey, you," Omal said to Rosa, "come use your quirk and pack these dirty metals together. Should you watch your teachers do this kind of dirty work?" Hunter was signalling to Omal to stop but he wasn't noticing. Rosa stared at Omal for a while but later decid
Venn Obert
Dawn came and rumours started spreading faster than the fastest avenger. The school teachers gathered the best investigators to the scene of the fight at the second-year school, to get some clues that will help get the culprits. But a man called Venn Obert was called from the Earth's council to take over the case. Venn Obert was a cunny middle aged fellow popular for carrying out the most advanced cases on earth. With sharp eyes and a proactive brain that worked overtime, he was always eager to settle mind boggling cases such as this. As soon as the steward at Earth's council called in him, he left his only daughter with the nanny and packed his suitcase. The next day, he landed at Academy one. Being a Double-wonder, he was mutated to double quirks, and strangely enough, both quirks appear to be on the same level, which isn't normal for Double-Wonders since one quirk always overshadow the other. Venn Obert, an S-ranked mutant possessed a lie detector quirk and a questionnaire quir
Venn Obert (2)
Venn walked into a room, dragging Rosa into in the staff quarters with his eyes still red and sore from the sand Rosa directed at his face. Inside the room was Amy, the little teacher. She was sitting alone in the darkest part of the room, getting prepared for her next class. She was still dressed in her favourite yellow and black half zipped jacket over a white T-shirt with long yellow trousers with black stripes as well. Her white shoes are always clean and sparkling. Amy's style was said to be influenced by a female runner character from a video game she played as a kid. "To what do I owe this unexpected visit?" Amy asked Venn. She was well acquainted with Venn as the two of them are Double-Wonders and they have shared a few words in the past during one of those meetings. "Amy, this room is designated to me as my interrogatiom room. Don't give me problems, please. Why are you even staying in a room this dark?" "I stay wherever I want, got any problem with that?" Venn sighed. "A
Rage Mode
Even stubborn Rosa knew she has been caught in a tight spot. She began sweating for real this time, and her mind darted back and forth, trying to come up with a counter thought to mask the truth from Venn's probing. What she feared was finally coming to reality. Sooner or later, Venn will discover that there were other students alongside the teachers. To her, the teachers can go choke on space debris, she was only worried for Leo because she knew if Venn discovered Leo in her thoughts and saw that he indeed fought those Mecha-men, he will only be used as a scapegoat because of his family status. "Focus, Rosa. Focus," she told herself. "You must not let him read your mind again." "Are you deaf now, Rosalie Morningbolt? You can't deny your involvement any longer, Rosa. Just mention the name of the teachers and let's get done with it... Or do you want me to dig into hour mind again? I can make you do that, Rosa. I really can." Rosa kept her eyes shut, thinking of many thoughts aside t
Settled At Last
Couple of minutes later, Venn opened his eyes. He has been tied to a the chair with a strong cord that Amy had brought. Amy, the young teacher was more than annoyed at Venn for taking this investigation too far. She knew who Venn was indeed and she had warned him not to try anything that might hurt the student, but Venn was always a monster when he was on the brink of discovery. Rosa had been taken out of the room. Amy sat opposite him and with her arms akimbo. The two strangers who entered with her stood behind her. They were dressed in deep black suits and they each carried a suitcase with them. They possessed a mean look as they stared daggers at Venn. "What are you doing, Amy?" Venn asked angrily. "Untie me now or I report you to the council." "You knew us first before you knew the damn council," Amy flared. "What do you mean? I am only doing my job, Amy. Do you want to have problems with the council?" "No, I don't. But do you want to have problems with our association?" Am
Leo, Unfazed...
Things returned to normal the very next day after Venn decided to settle the case with a lie to the council. Hunter Man, Omal, Greg, Allan and the other teachers of the secret Hope group started showing themselves after hiding for a while throughout Venn's stay in the academy, and later on classes started as it should. On the day Venn was leaving the academy, he ran into Leo in the lobby and stopped right in front of the boy, stared deep into him and said, "I know you're the one she's trying to hide. Consider yourself lucky that I didn't get my hands on you before those rascals stopped everything, you dumbass D-ranker." "Bye, Mr. Venn," was all Leo said as the furious detective stormed away. Leo was indeed grateful for Rosa once again. He had heard rumours that Venn had gone crazy in the interrogation room while trying all his best to see everything in Rosa's mind with a bnned technique. But still he couldn't see much of the night's incidence since Rosa had done a good job at shut
A Power Fist
The sudden shout of his name made Sil stop his ice spear formation instantly. Jade turned towards his white haired friend with a firece look. With a strong voice, he said, "He is my pet, not yours. He is mine to punish l, and I punish him when I want, not when you want, okay?!" Sil was shaken. He dropped the spear on the floor, shrugged and said, "okay. Do you." Jade walked back to Leo with visible fury. He said angrily, "you just don't know when to stop, do you? Who the hell do you think you are?!' Leo looked at him dead on and took another bite of the snack. "You have another explanation to make, yunno. It's obvious you were involved in the mecha-men case that got Rosa interrogated by that sick man." Another snack bite, and a hard munch. "You won't tell ne right? Then I guess you won't mind telling my brother, Riley," Jade said finally. Leo stopped chewing immediately. The snack suddenly became bitter in his mouth. He knew it'd get to this at last, but he was still caught off
Broken Bones
And that explains why Jose didn't suffer a scratch when Ethan punched his face earlier. Jose is an exceptional healer. During his time as a freshman at the academy, where he was taken to the hospital wing for the healing quirk test, he emerged the best healer out of all the freshmen that year even to the amazement of Miss Charlotte of the hospital wing. The woman had opened her mouth wide that Jose had almost equalled her healing quirk score when she was also a fresher. She then promised Jose that he is welcome under her tutorship henceforth. For all anyone knows, Jose was the only person that has ever gotten on Miss Charlotte's good side. Jose would have gotten an A-rank that day if not for a slight mistake he did during the final test, but even the B was enough to impress Miss Charlotte. He was one of those few to be born with a quirk, because both his parents are mutants with the healing quirk, and when Jose was born, he took up the ability earlier and quite easily. Being a mutant
Fiery Fury (Jade's POV)
[Jade's POV] "When did Riley start getting bothered by that weakling?" Sil asked after Ethan had dragged Leo away. "Hell if I know," Jade replied, lost in thought. It doesn't seem right to him either but there was nothing he could do since it was his brother involved. Nobody dared cross Riley's path, not even his siblings. He might appear cool and friendly at times but he was a strict person when one goes against his rule. "Anyways, it's the weekend, we have to go to the gaming booth outside the academy. We're going 1v1 today, and I promise to teach you some valuable life lessons, aha," Sil said. Jade heard him quite right but he just stood there with his head bowed, still lost in deep thought. Some anger was welling inside of him and he couldn't explain why. "Jade? Did you hear me?" Sil asked, concerned for his friend. His thoughts reeled back. "Yes, I did. I'd love to teach you some lessons myself but I don't think I'll be going with you today, Sil. You can go with Shaw and t
