PROLOGUE ***********The Night He Disappeared*************************Rain poured over the city that night. The streets were quiet except for the sound of water hitting the old gym roof. Inside, Jaden Cole stood alone in the ring, his fists wrapped in tape, his breath heavy. He had just lost another match earlier that day. Another loss. Another reason for people to laugh behind his back.“Maybe I’m just not made for this,” he muttered, looking at his reflection in the mirror. His eyes were tired, his body bruised. His girlfriend Jackie had made it know to him that she was done after his last fight. She was the only thing that kept him going. The only sanity in his life and she just sent him a break up message over a text. Jaden loved fighting—but fighting didn’t seem to love him back.He leaned on the ropes, thinking of his father’s words. “Winners don’t quit, Jaden.” But what if all he ever did was lose? The lights in the gym flickered once, then twice. He frowned and looked up.

The Training of Pain*********************Jaden woke up to the sound of chains and shouting. The air was thick and hot. The smell of sweat, blood, and old food filled his nose. Around him, other men sat in cages—some sleeping, some staring blankly at the ground. He had hoped it was a dream. But when he moved, the pain in his ribs reminded him it was real.He was still here.He was still a slave.A loud whistle cut through the silence. A guard walked in, carrying a whip. Behind him was Kael, the man Jaden met yesterday.“Wake up, worms!” the guard shouted. “Training starts now!”One by one, the cages opened. Men stepped out slowly, their chains clinking with every move. Jaden followed, not knowing what else to do.Kael’s eyes met his. “You’re still alive,” he said with a half-smile. “Good. Let’s see if you can stay that way.”They were taken outside to a large open yard surrounded by high stone walls. The sun was already burning hot. Wooden dummies, heavy stones, and weapon racks were

Blood in the Sand*****************The sun shined bright above the training yard, turning the sand golden and hot. Jaden’s hands were sore and covered with cuts, his arms shaking from another morning of endless training. Kael stood a few feet away, watching with cold eyes.“Again,” Kael said, his voice calm but heavy.Jaden groaned and raised the wooden sword again. His body screamed for rest, but he obeyed. He slashed at the training dummy, his swing weak and unsteady.Kael walked closer. “You’re still holding back,” he said quietly.“I’m not,” Jaden breathed out. Sweat ran down his neck. “I just… I can’t feel my arms anymore.”Kael stopped in front of him and struck him across the face with the flat side of his wooden staff. The hit wasn’t meant to kill, but it was strong enough to knock Jaden down.“You think your enemies will care that your arms are tired?” Kael said. “They’ll cut your throat while you’re catching your breath. Get up.”Jaden pushed himself up, tasting blood in hi

The Birth of a WarriorThe morning came too soon. Jaden’s body still ached from the fight, but Kael didn’t give him time to rest.“Get up,” Kael said, kicking the leg of the bench where Jaden slept. “You think one win makes you strong?”Jaden groaned and sat up. The smell of blood still clung to his hands even after washing them the night before. He didn’t answer.Kael threw him a short spear. “Today, you train with this.”Jaden caught it clumsily. The wood was rough and heavy. He stared at it for a moment, then looked at Kael.“What’s the point of this?” Jaden asked.Kael walked around him slowly. “The point is to stay alive. You’ve learned to kill one man. Now you must learn to kill ten.”Jaden frowned but said nothing. Kael pointed to a group of fighters across the yard. “They’re from the north. Strong arms, quick feet. You will fight them — one after another — until you can’t stand anymore.”Jaden’s chest tightened. “What if they kill me?”Kael smirked. “Then you’ll die a warrior,

The Blur between two worlds*****************************The crowd roared like thunder as Jaden stood in the middle of the Octagon. Blood dripped from his arms. His body was covered in cuts, but his eyes looked calm — too calm for a man who had just killed five fighters in a row.“Bring me the next one,” he said, his voice low and cold.Kael, his master, stood by the gate watching him closely. He had trained Jaden for months, maybe years — it was hard to tell in this world. Jaden had grown stronger than Kael ever imagined. But there was something different in his eyes now — something dark.“Enough, Jaden,” Kael said, stepping into the arena. “You’ve proven your strength. You don’t have to keep fighting.”Jaden’s head turned slowly toward him. “You told me strength is all that matters here. If I stop now, they’ll call me weak.”The crowd shouted for more blood. “Fight! Fight! Fight!”Kael sighed and looked toward the gate. “Then face him,” he said quietly. The gate opened, and a tall

The Fighter ReturnsJaden stood outside the MMA gym, staring at the large sign above the glass door.It read “OctaFight Training Center.”The same place he used to train before everything changed. He touched the scar on his arm — except, there was no scar anymore. His skin was clean. Still, when he closed his eyes, he could feel the pain from the battles in the other world. The sound of swords. The smell of blood. Kael’s voice. He shook his head. “It was just a dream,” he whispered to himself. “Just a dream.”But it didn’t feel like one. When he opened the door, the smell of sweat and rubber mats filled the air. Fighters were training inside, punching bags and sparring. Some stopped when they saw him.“Yo, Jaden! You’re alive!” one of them shouted.Another guy laughed. “Man, we thought you were gone for good! What happened to you?”Jaden forced a smile. “Just… needed rest.”They welcomed him back like an old friend, but he felt strange. Their faces looked the same, their voices sounde

The Doctor’s RoomThat night, all Jaden could think off was about kicking Rick's ass in the ring. He has never been able to beat the guy at lest not until he was back from his adveture world. The morning sun was bright, but Jaden’s mind felt heavy with a lot of unspoken words. He sat in the back seat of a cab, his hands resting on his knees, staring out the window as the city moved past it was almost like he was trapped. People walked, cars honked, life went on.But for him, everything felt… distant. After his strange comeback at the gym, Coach Damon had called him in.“You need to talk to someone,” the coach had said. “You’ve changed, Jaden. You don’t even look like the same person anymore.”Now he was on his way to see Dr. Mira Evans, a psychologist who worked with athletes. The cab stopped in front of a white building. The sign read “Evans Therapy and Recovery.”He sighed and stepped out.Inside, the air smelled clean and calm. The walls were painted a soft blue. A few other pat

Who am I?The honking sound from the cars and the loud noise from the street sounded more like being in the arena where he was caged and he had to fight for his life. Jaden's legs felt calculated. His vision was sharp, it was as if he was being haunted. Each man walking past him felt like every opponent he had to take on. Every man he had to beat the hell out of. For him, they were all fighters. He shook his head one more time trying to balance reality with whatever was going on inside his head but it was too late. Jaden collided with a man in his early forties. His face was having marks and his jaws were uneven. " Watch where you are going boy!" he snapped in anger. But Jaden's fighting mode kicked in. He grabbed the men by the shirt and threw a jab at his face. The man was slow, too slow. The blow landed on his face with a loud thud sending him back to the ground in a flash. Many of the ongoing lookers stopped. Their gaze darting back at the man whose whose was broken and Jad

The DealThe gym was still a mess. Blood on the floor. The smell of sweat and panic hung in the air.Park was being lifted onto a stretcher by the paramedics. His face was swollen, nose bent, lips broken.Jaden stood by the corner, his hands trembling. His knuckles were red, his chest rising and falling heavily. He could still hear the sound of his fists hitting Park’s face, again and again, like echoes that refused to fade.Coach Damon turned to him, fury burning in his eyes. “Do you even know what you’ve done, Jaden?!”Jaden said nothing. His lips parted, but no words came out. He didn’t know how to explain it. It was like something inside him took over.Damon took a step closer. “You’ve lost it. You’re not the same person anymore. Maybe Dr. Mira was right… maybe you do need help.”Jaden looked up slowly, eyes dark and cold. He looked at Park as he was carried away and a part of him felt sick to the gut. Before Damon could answer, a slow clap echoed from behind them.Everyone turne

The Beast InsideJaden knew he was losing himself little by little. He could barely focus anymore, and whenever he was alone, his body felt weak and tired. Yet the fire inside him — the desire to prove himself, to show the world he wasn’t the loser they thought he was — kept burning. He remembered the night he fought Park. The way Park’s body fell, broken. Park had been one of Damon’s best fighters. The memory made Jaden sigh heavily as he slumped into the soft chair in his room.Everything had been good since he joined Riker. He had time to train, time to fight — no one holding him back. No coach shouting at him. No one telling him to stop. The rage kept him going, even when his mind wandered.“Get your head in the game!” Riker shouted from the stands one night when Jaden froze during a fight. That voice dragged him back — back from wherever his mind had gone. Maybe he needed someone like Riker. Maybe he needed an anchor to stop him from falling too deep into that strange world again
