Chapter 21
Chapter Eight: Eros familiar...Alena sat in the darkness with a dazed look on her face. Her mind was yet to compute what had taken place a few minutes before in the boy's room. She had always prided herself in being professional and capable of being level-headed in all situations. Hell, part of the reason she had been betrayed was how unbending she was in her ideals. Being called names wasn't an experience that began in this town for Alena. Even back at the academy, she was aware of the various names that she was called behind her back. Ironically, they were the exact opposite of what she was called in this town. Prude, stiff, stick in the mud, and a whole slew of other names. Just because she wasn't willing to lower her standards or do anything that she didn't think was right. Her personal favorite among the names she was called back at the academy was miss mannequin. The claim was that while she looked every bit human on the outside, she had none of the feelings an actual human had

The woman standing by Greg's bedside turned her gaze to look at the wall. Or at least, that is how it would have looked to someone inside the room. If someone took off the roof of the building and looked down from above, however, they'd quickly notice that the woman seemed to be looking directly at the healer. There was no anger or malice in the woman's face, just pure curiosity. A small smile crept onto the woman's face when she felt the magical senses just outside of the room withdraw. The healer then took a step back and sat down in the chair she'd been in, clearly, no longer interested in, or rather, not daring to come to the boy's room. "Smart," The woman by Greg's bedside commented in an amused tone before turning back to Greg. After the initial joy of coming into being had subsided, the woman by Greg's bed carefully looked the boy over. A slight look of confusion crossed her face as she regarded the boy. "Why is he so weak?" The being asked no one in particular. Looking at her

Chapter Nine: Olivia...There was a long silence between Greg and his new familiar as a million thoughts went through his mind. Part of him, a very big part, was tempted by the woman's offer. Her charm was undeniable and from the look in her eyes, Greg doubted that there was anything he could want to do that she wouldn't be down with. He, however, forced his eyes closed to keep them from wandering over her curvaceous body and took in a deep calming breath. "What can you do?" Greg asked. "I get that you will fulfill every lewd desire that I have," he went on before the woman could launch into another tirade of the raunchy things she could envision them doing together. "However, I doubt that you are just a sex slave," he pointed out. "So I'll ask again, what can you do?" Greg repeated. After going through the kinds of missions that the system offered, Greg knew that he wasn't meant to be buying sexual experiences from it. Instead, through it, Greg was supposed to seduce as many women as

DO YOU WISH TO BUY THE SUN ORCHID FOR 2000 MAGIC POINTS?YES/NO.Greg clicked on 'NO' before turning to look at the woman in shock. He hadn't been willing to disclose anything about the system to anyone, at least not until he was sure that the said person could be trusted. This little demonstration by the familiar, however, made it clear that that plan was already moot. Whether he liked it or not, she already had access to the system. On the other hand, there was no denying how useful it would be to have someone he could actually talk to about the system as opposed to blindly guessing about the parts he didn't as yet understand. Not to mention that, even if Greg had three times the IQ he presently had, there was no way he would have taken anything short of several years to figure out where everything was in the two shops, especially the magic shop. Having someone that could not only advise him but also instantly find anything that he wanted from the system was a godsend."Is there mor

Chapter Ten; The five schools...Greg's shock at Olivia's words was clear to be seen on his face "It's like I told you," Olivia continued. "You were supposed to be a lot more powerful than you presently are before you got access to the special shop," She stated. "As you presently are, forget having a weak core and mana pathways, you haven't even begun to form them," She pointed out. "Unlike the other two items in the special shop, the Eros body isn't an item that will be given to you. You'd be paying to have the system fundamentally change your body into a higher order of existence than what you presently have. If you are not strong enough to survive the process, which you most certainly are not, you'd just be paying to die," The familiar explained. This was the second time in one night that Greg had almost unwittingly killed himself. The first time was trying to access the dungeons. An act that could have very easily destabilized his soul once more. The second time, he now found out,
Chapter 26
"The third school of magic is the school of summoners and beast tamers. Both deal with magical creatures, the only difference is where they get them from. For a beast tamer, they have to be in the same plane as the beast that they hope to tame. A beast tamer on this plane can't hope to tame an abyssal creature or an elemental from the elemental plane and so on. A summoner, on the other hand, is only limited by the plane they are in. A summoner on this plane can summon creatures from the abyssal plane but not from this plane. If they were to cross over to the abyssal plane, then they'd be able to summon creatures from this plane but not from the abyssal plane. Both groups have their strengths and drawbacks. Beast taming isn't as easy or as fast as summoning, especially for stronger beasts. However, once a beast is tamed, the bond can last a lifetime. On the other hand, while a summoner can instantly summon a creature from other planes, with very few exceptions, most summoned beasts can
Chapter 27
Greg had almost exhausted all of the little strength he had shifting into a sitting position on the bed he was on. For the past hour, he had been looking in the direction of the door to the room. This wasn't done out of boredom but rather, out of confusion and slight worry. Greg had woken up a little over an hour ago. According to the pattern of the previous days, the healer should have come along within the next ten minutes to do her morning rounds. When she didn't show up in that ten minutes, Greg was surprised. He, however, didn't pay it much mind. When thirty minutes passed, he couldn't help but frown slightly at this. Now, a whole hour later, the healer was still nowhere to be seen.'Do you think something happened to her?" Greg mentally asked his familiar. When Olivia first vanished into his glabella, Greg had still spoken verbally whenever trying to communicate with her. It took a bit of time for him to transition and get used to the idea that merely thinking was enough to comm
Chapter 28
Greg didn't know whether it was the words or the tone of her voice. Something about what she'd just said caused a bad feeling to start budding in his heart. Keeping his voice as calm and steady as possible, Greg spoke. "How is everyone else? He asked. Try as she would, the woman couldn't keep the pain from showing on her face. "It... It's been hard," the woman confessed, making the bad feeling in Greg's heart grow. "Your sister barely speaks or eats," The woman reported. "And I... I still can't believe it," she went on. "A... and father?" Greg asked. It was absurd. Greg didn't know any of these people. His care for them should have only been superficial out of simple courtesy and human decency. And yet, for some reason, he couldn't help but feel like his heart was caught in a vice. Something was telling him that he didn't want to hear what would be said next. Still, with a shaking voice, he couldn't stop himself from asking, "H... how is father?" A look of surprise flashed in the w
Chapter 29
But while Greg was experiencing this storm of emotions, he still had enough presence of mind to keep it from showing on his face. Rather than go on focusing on questions he didn’t as yet have any answers to, Greg turned to his mother with an apologetic look. “I’m sorry for doubting you mother,” He spoke up in a genuinely apologetic tone. “Defending your father’s honor is nothing to be sorry for or ashamed of!” The woman spoke up in a serious tone. Greg could see it in her eyes that she wasn’t just saying it to placate him, she meant what she had just said. Without pause, the woman once again brought the bowl to Greg’s lips. Greg looked down at the bowl, a dark look fleeting across his face. He didn’t want anything to do with his uncle. A part of him even wanted to slap the bowl out of his mother’s hands. He, however, calmly leaned forward and sipped from the bowl. He wasn’t a child. Right now throwing a tantrum wouldn’t serve him in any way. What he needed the most at the moment w
Chapter 30
Greg had been watching the healer all this while. And from what he’d thus far observed, his initial assessment of her had been on the mark. She seemed to be on guard against something, what that was, he didn’t know. Part of him suspected that she’d sensed Olivia’s presence. His familiar, however, had assured him that while she was merged with him, there was no way anyone would be able to sense her presence. Besides, if Olivia was right, then the healer was a seventh-tier mage, there was no way a second-tier mage would cause her to be so on guard. So what was going on with her? Greg couldn’t help but wonder. All through the time that Greg had been taking the broth brought to him by his mother, the healer’s eyes had been darting from one corner of the ceiling to the next, almost as if she was trying to investigate something there. Greg had looked to those same corners and hadn’t found anything there worth noting. Each of the four corners had a scorch mark and what looked like metal th
