The Kent family runs many businesses and have done so for many generations. One of the sacrifices that one had to keep to keep a family as rich as the Kent is that they will always have to play dirty at some point. Mister Theo Kent has played dirty too– many times, at different degrees– but he doesn't know exactly what Roman is referring to. “What the hell are you talking about?” Mister Theo asks with a pissed off look on his face. “Don't tell me that you accepted my innocent invitation only for you to come and insult me!” “Except you are insulted by the truth, Mister Kent.” Roman shrugs. “I mean, after what you did to Freddy…” Theo Kent grabs his chest, as if he has suddenly gotten the symptoms of a heart attack. Did Roman just say the name, Freddy? He hasn't heard that name in twenty five years…He immediately stands up with so much anger. “I have never met someone with that name, Mister Croft. Now, if you are not willing to give the award to my late brother, then I think it's

This is the worst day of Theo Kent's life. If he had known that things would have taken such a nasty turn, he would have told John to let Roman be. Up till now, he doesn't know if Roman is really a soldier, but there is one thing that he knows. Roman Croft is not someone to be messed with…He went to the floor a free man, but he is standing up as a bonafide slave. What is Roman going to ask him to do now? Ask him to transfer the leadership of his company to him? Make him transfer a huge sum of money to him? “Now that I have agreed to be your slave, are you going to destroy all the evidence?” “These are the last things to prove that Freddy even walked the face of the earth. You cleaned out every record of him pretty good.” “I won't do something like this again, I promise. I have turned a new leaf as of today.” “Oh please,” Roman snorts. “This is just the tip of the iceberg, we all know that you are not a saint. Do you want me to bring up more cases of your atrocities?"“Please,

John Kent has anxiety hanging around him the whole day, as he waits for his uncle to get back to him on the meeting with Roman Croft. He is sure that his Uncle would offer Roman more money than he has ever seen before, and of course he is going to bend the knee. He waits and waits for the call of victory, but it doesn't come. He finally goes to bed with a heavy heart of disappointment, but he doesn't know what is waiting for him in the morning….“Honey?! Honey!!” Finna calls him from the bedroom. John growls with annoyance. He is shaving with a sharp blade and he has just nicked himself because of her. “Honey!!” “What do you want from me, Finna? Can't I have a little time to myself in this bloody house?!” He yells back at her. “Come and look, your uncle is on the television. Why didn't you tell me that he is retiring? Isn't he supposed to have a retirement party?” John's heart immediately jumps a beat. His uncle is retiring without any prior notice to the family? He takes a

John is in a terrible state the entire day. He is in the living room, drinking another bottle of scotch as Finna and Pumpkin descend from the stairs, very dressed up. He is also dressed up, because they are supposed to have dinner with a certain family, but John is not in the mood. But Finna has been talking about it for the whole week, and that means that she would rather die than allow him to even suggest a reschedule. “Mummy, I don't want to wear these shoes! I want to wear my Jordans!” Pumpkin whines. “No, you can't, Pumpkin, your Jordans don't go with your dress and besides, I spent a lot of money to order your shoes. Don't you want to show them off?” John rolls his eyes. “Seriously? You are putting twenty thousand dollar shoes on your daughter's feet just to see your sister's family? You know Pumpkin, these will be ruined by the time we come back home!” Finna sighs with annoyance. “That's not the point, John. Stephanie and her husband probably thought that they destroyed u

The place is so silent that if a pin drops to the ground, it would go off like a gunshot. Stephanie finds out that large beads of sweat have formed on her face. Maybe dinner wasn't the best idea. She hates that her lovely husband has to be humiliated like this to massage the ego of her family members, and in front of their daughter? She drops her fork and looks around the table. “Please, do not ask my husband to do that. Our daughter is here, and it would be too embarrassing for him, he is a veteran for God's sake.” “A veteran my foot!” John huffs. “Have you even seen a picture of him in the front line?” Stephanie bites down her lips. It's true, she has never seen a photo of him in action. “Well, it doesn't matter, because I trust Roman with all of my heart.” She smiles and reaches to hold his hand. “If he says he was a soldier, then I believe him.” “Spare me that load of bullshit, Stephanie!” Her father blasts her. “If this failure of your husband was ever in the army, then h

The argument, or exchange, wasn't loud, in fact no one thought anything of it until John yelled so loudly from the pain. The injury is the most painful thing that he has ever experienced in his life. Everyone rushes into the kitchen and Finna almost faints when she sees how scattered her husband's fingers are. “Oh my God, what happened?!” Mrs Beerson asks with her hand clasped over her mouth. “John is a clumsy one. He shut his hand with the cabinet door and now he has some broken fingers. You will be more careful next time, John, won't you?” Roman has a delightful smile on his face. John knows that everything that Roman did, he did it on purpose, but he is trying to manage breathing in a calculative manner that combats the pain. Stephanie was seriously considering a career in medicine, so she knows what a dangerously broken finger looks like, and her brother-in-law has multiple. “We've got to take him to the hospital!” Stephanie declares. “Yes! I don't want a disfigured as a

They get to the hospital in time, but only Finna is allowed to go in with him. Turns out that he would need a minor surgery on some of the fingers. They aren't going to spend the night here, but they have to wait for five hours while the minor surgeries are performed. Roman and Stephanie are seated on a bench in the hallway. Stephanie's head is against the wall, as her mind wanders back to the events that led to them being here. No, she knows that she is not dreaming. She has been playing the same scene in her head over and over again, and indeed she saw Roman smirk at the sight of John's broken fingers. “Oh my God, you did this.” She gasps as she turns to Roman. “Huh?” “You deliberately broke his fingers! You were getting back at him for how nasty he was today.” Roman smirks. “Come on, Stephanie. That's very flattering, but John broke his fingers all by himself.” She hit his arm in a weak manner. “Ouch!” He says sarcastically. “I saw him flinch when you tried to help him

Finna is so furious and she raises her hand to hit Winona, but the highly trained woman breaks her slap. “That's not a good idea, madam.” Winona warns her. “You have abused my daughter!” “No, I have taught her that there are consequences to actions.” Winona corrects her. “The windows are made from imported glass, and they will cost a lot of money to be replaced. Don't you agree that Pumpkin should be punished for that?" Stephanie mash her face together with her hands. she knows that she must immediately separate them. “Don't worry, Winona, the windows are not going to be a problem. Pumpkin, honey, you may stand up now.” Pumpkin is still shaking and sniffling. Mucus is even dripping down her nostrils. She is holding her hand extended away from her, as if the smallest movement will result in so much pain. Her mother immediately gently examines her daughter's hands and she sighs over and over again. “Oh, Lord, lady! You are the devil for doing something like this to a child. Y

Stephanie doesn't sleep a wink that night, how can she after the awful thing that her parents told her. If there is one thing she knows about her parents, it is how manipulative they can be. That was the way they were able to convince everyone that Stephanie and Athena deserved to stay in the doghouse. That was the way they drove all her friends away from her. She is so scared to tell Roman about this, because she doesn't want him to panic. Besides, she is panicking enough for both of them. They have just lived in this house for a few months and now they are going to be homeless again? She can't allow that to happen to Roman and Athena. She has previously swore to herself that she will never allow Athena to be homeless like before. She doesn't care what she is going to have to do…Becoming a professional babysitter won't cut it out for them. They have to get a solid plan in case the dragon general believes her parents and kicks them out. By the crack of dawn, she already has a

Surely the good Lord has seen how hard Stephanie is working to save her family, so he has sent this kind bank manager to ease her pain. She keeps bowing and thanking the man as he leads her to his office. “Please, beautiful lady, please stop thanking me. You look like a kind person, so I have decided to extend that kindness also to you.” He opens the door and the first thing that hits her in the face is the cool air from the air conditioner. She sits down and he even hands her a chilled bottle of water. From the nameplate on his table, his name is Joseph Morgan. What a kind man he is. “Mister Morgan, I have to say that I am very grateful for you helping me, even though I don't meet the criteria. You are basically saving my life, and that of my family.” He smirks and waves it off. “Stephanie Croft, is it?” “You are correct, sir.” She nods. He drops his elbows on the table. “I am very drawn to you. I feel God is pulling me to help you. You don't have to worry, because I have h
