#11: Welcome To The Dominion
《Now entering a safe zone 10 minutes remaining until you are forcefully ejected from the safe zone.》 Rhys stepped into the safe room, the letter from The Arbiter burning a mental hole in his pocket. He stepped towards the table in the middle as it held his reward. His reward for an S- achievement clear. He checked his notifications. 《Dominion 0 -> Dominion 1 achieved!》 The benefits to his body were almost immediate. If a Dominion 0 [Infiltrator] was someone at the peak level of physical talent attainable on Terra Prime, Dominion 1 was where he could win a competition against anyone with little practice. Nobody on Terra Prime could beat a Dominion 1 [Infiltrator] in close combat. He snapped a knife from his holster and then twirled it around his fingers. Doing tricks he'd forgotten how to do. Then he pushed further. He took out the other knife from his strap and started juggling them. He almost couldn't stop grinning. The be
#12: No Guns, No Potions
Kael Frost did not like his name. For his first name his parents had decided to pick something unique so he would stand out. That hadn't been too uncommon… in their generation, maybe. The problem wasn't really with his first name. It was his last name. Kael was an adventurer's name, a [Swordmaster]'s name. A fine name. His last name? Frost? It kept reminding him of his roots, of his parents' insistence that he grow up like they did. As a regular kid in Aussie. Not that he ever could. Not with a name like his, not with the fact that he was an elf surrounded by other Aussie kids with bad humour, not with dragonslayer parents. His mind wandered as he sat at the table, like he did for the past two months. Two months of searching and he had found only one member that met his standards. Then again, to only spend two months to find an [Arcanist] like Lirien Voss, even with all her… eccentrics. Kael would have happily waited for another year.

#13: Welcome
Rhys's mind was awhirl, not for the first time today. His head moving on autopilot as he looked around the Adventurer's Guild, newbie adventurers were staring at him in silence and shock, he was staring at them like an idiot. It was truly surreal. He tried to find any semblance of calm as the entire room watched him. Like hawks eying their prey. He knew all of this was being recorded as well, it was normal to have your entrance posted on dominionnet and made fun of, a bit of a hazing for the newbie. Unlike most entrances, though, everyone was in awe. He just walked through them with his head held high, enjoying the spectators. That was until more than a few loud adventurers started arguing whether he was a fake. It took every bit of willpower he had, not to turn around and start arguing with them. He didn't even realize the receptionist was in front of him. "W-welcome, would you like to register?"

#14: We're Done Here
Rhys was ushered away through a hallway behind the reception and into a private room. Away from those that were looking at him like he was prime steak. The room maintained a medieval atmosphere with simple oak wood. Even the electrical lights disguised themselves as small lit lanterns. A tablet lay on the table, the only offending piece of modern technology. He immediately went for it and started browsing through the food menu. The list was endless. There was a dish from every part of the world, even burgers from SpiritSpring. He raised an eyebrow at that. Then the hunger hit him. Along with everything else. How long had it been since he had eaten? Twelve hours? How worried were his parents and friends? Why had The Arbiter picked him to deliver the quest? He was no great talent, no great genius. It wasn't worth thinking about. For the first time in what felt like forever, he let go of the tension. He started ordering absentmindedly. Trying to
#15: Checkmate
"Soooo firstly, Kael." Lirien pointed. "Apologize." "Does it matter? He won't join, and we don't want someone with that attitude." "I'm right here guys." Rhys gestured to his existence with his right hand. Lirien ignored him and put the popcorn on the table and placed her hands on her hips as she talked down to Kael. "You apologize because you made a mistake and it will keep you awake at night, like the fact that you only got third in that silly tournament for kids." The [Vanguard] opened his mouth and closed it. He didn't take the bait. "I meant every word I said." Kael then, for some godforsaken reason, folded his arms and stared Lirien down, then turned back to Rhys. Then it clicked, Kael was 18. While he wasn't much older at 23, it dawned on him that he'd been arguing with a teenager. No, more like a stubborn child. Now that was embarrassing. He couldn't maintain eye contact with Kael and s
#16: We Can Take Him
Lirien already had a contract prepared in simple but undeniable terms that everyone could understand. "Could I get funded for an early energy control tutor?" Rhys asked. She frowned at the request. "Why? Everyone can do that for free at dominion four." "I need the help sooner. You can get good skills for doing it earlier." That was his excuse for needing one. The reality was he wanted to go back home as soon as he could and tell his parents the good news, and brag to Milock. "It's not that beneficial, but sure, as long as you know we won't slow down." That was two of Rhys's problems sorted, assuming everything went alright in the instant Trial and he joined their team. Lirien's arguments had been immaculate, and her terms were too good. A million goddamn dollars, and that was just the signing bonus. She promised much, much more if he ended up gelling with the team and continued past the fourth dominion.
#17: My Parents Are Dragonslayers
The Dominion was a land both ancient and new. Ancient because the sectors it composed of had their own history, some of them far older than Terra Prime's. New because each sector was brutally torn from another reality, added to The Dominion in a continuous expansion by the Trial System. It did not exist before 1962. When the pioneers first navigated a land that was only the size of a continent. The First Sector. Now with twelve different Sectors, The Dominion was estimated to be nine times the surface area of Terran. A number which became even more mind-boggling when you realized that, unlike Terran, most of The Dominion wasn't water. Some of the higher sectors had ecology so alien that simply breathing in the air would kill most sapient races. Even in the most tame of sectors, Sector 1, the sky wasn't like Terra Prime's. The sun was setting, and the twin moons were out. Multi-colored hues painted over the sky. A purplish-red haze with what lo
#18: Would You Like To Spar?
The rest of the walk continued until they got near the edge of the leveled zone. Rhys was going through the motions at this point, emotionally exhausted and just wanting to rest. A real city was further away in the unrestricted area, where higher dominion adventurers could protect it. The trio stopped in front of a massive house, still in the leveled zone. It was practically a mansion. His eyes went wide at the implication. "You're willing to spend like fifty grand a month on rent?" It wouldn't be nearly as expensive if they were Realmers. Price-gouging adventurers was just standard practice. It was why he'd been planning on finding the cheapest inn he could find. "It's more like eighty. Rent's been going up lately." Lirien muttered in annoyance. "Eighty- I should've asked for more." "Yup," Lirien nodded her head happily. "I was willing to go up to three million if you argued for it."

#19: I Didn't Buy My Gear
Kael asking him for a spar? Rhys's blood was already pumping from the workout, now it moved up to eleven. He wanted nothing more than to see how much of a difference there was between the two of them. "Sure, why-" "No sparring! Artisan's been practicing for two hours already!" A voice yelled from behind as once again, the [Infiltrator] got jump-scared by an [Arcanist]. It was embarrassing at this point. How the hell had she gotten behind him? Then he saw. "Fucking hell, Lirien." The [Arcanist] held herself up on the fence from the neighbour's side. She was trying to pull herself up and looked as if she was struggling to pull herself up. "Lirien, get out of there before the neighbor complains again." Kael said. She stopped pretending to struggle and did somehow flipped herself up to handstand on the fence. Her [Arcanist] robes defying physics by staying at her ankles. Then she lost her balance and fell to
#20: Blacklisted
"Well, shit sounds like we got a newbie team to look out for. What's your name, son?" "R- Artisan" Rhys said. Quickly remembering his adventuring name. There was an awkward pause. Patrick, their leader kept looking at him with an expression Rhys still didn't understand. Their leader flinched slightly when he turned his head towards them. Patrick quickly coughed. "Ahem, there is a den of midnight wolves roaming to the west by the flatlands, not sure what spooked them. Take care." "We will, thanks!" Lirien said, still cheerful. Once they were clear and out of earshot, Lirien muttered something he barely caught. "Trash." Rhys paused and just looked at the [Arcanist]. She looked pissed. He hadn't seen her actually angry before. "What? Why?" "Nothing." Rhys looked around at Kael for answers. He was looking pissed off too. "Lirien just called them trash right?" Kael didn
