11. The Elixir
Morning came too quickly. Logan didn't waste time, he grabbed what he needed, and split to see his mom. Leaving home before sunrise. Logan didn't slow down till he got to the hospital. That hospital smell—strong scent of bleach, sickness, meds of all sorts—hit him like a slap the moment he stepped inside. At this hour, the corridors were dim, nurses gliding softly like ghosts, their shoes barely making a sound against the polished floor. His hands remained tightly wrapped around the vial in his pocket. ‘Here we go.’Ward B, Room 307.He hesitated, his hands on the door knob, chest rising and falling too fast. What if Kregor lied? What if the elixir wasn't active anymore? What if it was dangerous for his mother?‘You don't get to do that now,’ he told himself. Logan pushed the door open. His eyes welled at the sight of his mom's fragile form on the bed, barely breathing. She was thinner than she should have been, her pale skin almost translucent under the faint light. Tubes ran in
12. Playing With DNA
Blue-Sky looked different at night. The building towered like a vampire's liar, its glass walls reflecting the city's dim glow. Logan stood across the street, hands jammed in his jacket, staring at the logo he’d passed a thousand times. Tonight, it felt different, heavier. Like it was haunted. Christopher was here, he knew it. The door slid open with a quiet hiss when he swiped his card at the side entrance. Inside, the halls were silent. The usual hum of daytime activity was gone, replaced by the soft buzz of fluorescent lights. Logan's boots echoed as he walked, every step heavy, as his mind kept reeling. He couldn't stop thinking about the Orb the pleiadian told him about. About Louis. About… Sonia? He shrugged. If someone was stealing elixir before it reached Greenville, and Crownfell's name kept surfacing then it's possible he was the culprit. Logan stepped off the elevator onto the lab floor. Christopher was there, just like he'd predicted. He was hun
13. Vital Information
The large phone call record book weighed heavy on Logan's hand, like his chest. ‘What am I doing? Maybe Christopher’s clean.’ Can't believe I'm doing this for the Pleiadians. Sonia walked in. “Found the book?” she asked, her face neutral. “Yes, can I take it home. It's bigger than I thought.” Sonia glanced once at Logan. “Sure, but be careful. Return it in one peice,” she said, drumming her fingers on the desk. “You won't tell me what this is about?” “It's just… a call I want the date for.” He was about to leave the office. Then it hit. A sharp pain sliced through his arm. He gasped, gripping his forearm. Heat pulsed beneath his skin, and faint lines of light danced under his skin before disappearing in a flash. Vision blurred. His heart pounded with intensity. “What the…” The pain intensified, crawling up his veins, and Logan staggered back, breathing hard. “Logan, are you okay?” Sonia asked, concern etched on her face. She held his arm, and immediately
14. Vaught
Across the city, deep beneath Blue-Sky pharmaceuticals, alarms chimed softly. Christopher stood alone in the underground lab, staring at the screen as the genetic markers flared, and graphs surged violently. “Second time today,” he muttered, typing rapidly. Bold texts appeared on the screen. SUBJECT: LOGAN HALE ANOMALY STATUS: ACTIVE Christopher’s lips curled in a slow, dangerous smile. “So it's awakening,” he said quietly. A figure moved behind the glass wall. “We should proceed to phase two.” Christopher nodded, eyes fixed on the screen. “Yes,” he said. “Get the chamber prepared.” His gaze sharpened, obsession burning beneath it as he leaned closer. “Logan has no idea what he is yet.” …………… Logan's surroundings were a haze. His legs buckled, and he barely managed to lean against the wall, before sliding down. ‘What is this?’ . Whatever it was, it wasn't good. It left him vulnerable—too weak. Anyone could've harmed him right there as he was unconscious. As his vi
15. Vaught's Warehouse
Logan's heart rate quickened as the footsteps approached. All his instincts screamed at him to move, to run—but the chains dug deeper into his wrists with every tug, a sharp sting of metal into his tender flesh. His heartbeat escalated—then suddenly stilled. The shift came without warning. A low hum began to thrum softly beneath his skin, then it became stronger. Heat pooled his chest, spreading like molten fire through his veins. His vision blurred, the edges glowing faintly blue. ‘No…not now’ The footsteps came towards the doorway, and halted. “Hey, didn't we lock this door tightly?” a voice muttered. Logan's jaw clenched. The air around him thickened, heavy and electric, pressing against his lungs. His heartbeat synchronized with the hum alive under his skin, and it continued like that in harmony, until it felt like the world was moving to its rhythm. The metal chains shook violently. Beth could only watch in horror as he hid behind the crates. He stared at the mesmeriz
16. The Resistance
The door shut as they stormed in. Beth locked it quickly, sliding the bolt with trembling hands, before pressing his back against the wood. His chest rose and fell rapidly as he tried to control his breathing. The room was dim, lit only by a single lamp placed on a crooked table. Shadows stretched across the walls of the small apartment, flickering as the light buzzed faintly. Logan stood still near the doorway. His chest rose in slow, irregular motions. Blue light pulsed weakly just beneath his skin, fading in and out like smoldering embers. His fists clenched and unclenched at his sides, trembling with restrained energy. No one said anything for a moment. Untill… “You're… safe here. No one comes here, it's been abandoned for a long, long time,” Beth said, glancing once at Logan. Logan sniffled. His jaw was clenched. His eyes, which were still glowing faintly, were locked intently on the wall as if he could see through it. “They're making it,” he said quietly. Beth swallo
17. The Name On The Call Log
‘Kano’ The name echoed in Logan's mind, and he could not quite process what Beth had just said. His breath stalled in his throat. Slowly, he raised his head, his eyes squinting in confusion. “That's impossible,” he said. “What do you mean?” Beth frowned. His hand brushed the top of his head as he stepped backwards, his chest tightening. “Kano is dead.” Beth rolled his eyes and reached for a chair. “No. He's not.” Logan shook his head, his voice growing louder. “You don't understand. I saw him go down. The pleiadian…” He paused. ‘The pleiadian.’ The memories swarming in his mind—Drew plunging a dagger onto Kano's chest. Kano's desperate words echoing in his ears. ‘Leave now! That's an order!’ “I thought he was gone,” Logan muttered. “He saved me from Drew and his goons that night… I was sure I’d never see him again.” Beth took a deep breath before speaking up. “ He survived, though. Barely. He came to us, told us about you. Said you’re the only hope we have o
18. Confrontation
Logan's nights were a blur of restless thoughts, and last night was no exception. He’d waited for dawn, counting down the minutes until he could confront Sonia at Blue-Sky. He had suspected Christopher was the culprit, although he didn't want it to be true. But, Sonia… Why was she involved in all this? Beth’s soft snores filled the room, his head leaning against the crooked table. The lamp had gone out before the rising of the sun, plunging the room into darkness. As the sun rose, however, its rays spilled inside, casting a pale glow over everything. Logan shook his head, eyeing Beth's slumbering form. “I hope the rest of the resistance isn’t like this,” he muttered. He scribbled a quick note—meet me here by nightfall—and dropped it on the table. Then, he slipped out. As the elevator went up, Logan was finding it hard to breathe, his anxiety building with each floor. What if Sonia was deeply involved? He began to space the cramped space, mentally rehearsing his questio
19. Truth Between Lies 1
Sonia shook her head slowly as she noticed Logan's tensed shoulders. "Relax, it's not a trap," She said, a teasing smirk dancing on her lips. Logan's jaw clenched. "Wouldn't be a problem if it was," he muttered, which made Sonia chuckle dryly. As the elevator's slow ascent finally ended, Logan's anxious energy spilled over—his foot tapping an impatient rhythm on the floor. The doors slid open, revealing a lavish office filled with more artifacts, a red carpet swallowed the entire floor, plush cushions were scattered in every corner of the room, and a massive mirror loomed behind the only desk in the room. A man approached them, bowing slightly. "Welcome, Rejik. He will join you shortly," he said. The man wore a dark suit, and dark shades, towering Logan slightly. His gaze flicked to Logan, a hint of hostility lingering, before returning to Sonia. "He's with me," she said calmly. The man hesitated, then nodded and vanished as quickly as he appeared. Logan's eyes scanned the roo

The silence that followed was deafening. Sonia exhaled slowly, fiddling with the fabric of her dress. "Louis and I... weren't just friends," she began softly. "We were partners. Work partners—" she added quickly, as if anticipating the judgment in Logan's eyes. Logan said nothing, his gaze fixed on her, unwavering. "He supplied Blue-Sky with the elixir," she continued. "Not the imitated versions that are sold on the streets. The real ones. Clean ones. We used it to produce affordable medicine, so people won't have to sell their souls." Her voice faltered slightly. "That was the sole-purpose of Blue-sky." Sonia exhaled sharply. "Some men didn't like what we were doing." Logan's jaw tightened. "Crownfell?" "Amongst the list. Yes. They wanted control. More profit. They wanted the formula, so they can make it themselves. They triedd to bribe Louis to sell the formula to them, but he didn't pay mind to their greedy antics. They don't understand what the elixir is capable of." Logan
