Chapter 41
41. Adrian couldn’t sleep. He had been able to get a few nights of rest after giving his condolences to the family of the dead… Ciara, but for some reason, this night was different. He sighed, forcing himself to go back to sleep, and that was when he heard a powerful voice in his head. “Wake up, Adrian!” Adrian sat upright in his bed with sweat running down his back. He looked around ti confirm that he was alone and sighed. "Who is there?” Adrian asked aloud. “Let me get some sleep!” “This is the powerful and mighty dragon, Adrian! You are running out of time!” Adrian felt a splitting headache come on, followed by a series of quick moving scenes. It was almost like he was in a trance, but he was awake and well. All the things he saw were extremely violent. He saw a battlefield where the sky was black with smoke and the air smelled like the mingling of blood and ash and fire. He turn r around to see a soldier run past him with half his face gone. Another one was crawli
Chapter 42
42. The war alarm rang so loud it shook the buildings. Within minutes, the palace had changed into something else. The servants moved around wildly, and guards shouted orders at each other . Soldiers moved fast into the courtyard, fastening their armour and grabbing shields before standing in formation. Mages stood in rows, hands glowing faintly, ready. Everyone wondered what was going on as there had been no prior preparations for war. But the king told them to be steadfast. An hour passed by of them just waiting. Adrian stood beside the king on the high balcony overlooking the grounds. The king folded his arms and turned to Adrian. "Well, Sir Bloodson, I see no army. Do you?” The visiting dignitary behind them looked pale. "I should not have stayed the night.” The man muttered. "This is madness, I have to go home, my wife must be back from her visits too." Adrian kept his eyes on the horizon. "They're coming." The king exhaled. "My entire court is on edge becaus
Chapter 43
43. Henry stared at the dark mage. How dare he not tremble before the crowned king of this kingdom? "Don't waste your breath and energy on me." The mage said, struggling to breathe. "I have nothing to offer you." "You think you're brave, don't you?" Henry asked. The mage smiled through split lips. "I think you're angry that you're not allowed to kill ma." Henry grabbed the dagger and buried in the mage's shoulder. The mage groaned, clenching his teeth. "Where are the rest?" Henry demanded. "How many of you are still hiding in my kingdom?" The mage said nothing and Henry leaned closer to his face. "You invaded my home, killed my soldier, and embarrassed my father. I'm sure he'd forgive me for a little accident." He pulled the dagger out and blood from the wound spilled down the mage's chest. The mage hissed in pain then started to laugh mockingly. Henry took a step back in surprise. "I saw you send that guard away, crown Prince. You're not here on official du
Chapter 44
44. Henry’s eyes fell to her outfit which looked too tight for her just and then he looked back up at her. "What's your name?" The girl lifted her chin just a little. She licked her lips before answering, like she was thinking hard about whether to speak. “Mera, your highness. I apologise for the stress I’ve caused you." Her voice was soft and smooth. Henry felt his cock hardening as he smiled at her. Mera. He had to have her. He let his eyes roam over her face and rested on her full lips. She had this calm look in her eyes, and the way she stood there, humble, but not afraid. Most girls trembled in front of him, out of shyness or fe are, but not her. “Mera.” He repeated. "Yes, your highness." The older maid cleared her throat. “She seems capable sir. I can start her in the west wing—" "No.” Henry cut in. Both women looked at him. "No?" The maid asked carefully. “Should u send her out?” Henry's eyes never left Mera. "No, nothing of the sort. I'll ha
Chapter 45
45. Ciara looked up and down at Mera, unable to figure out who she was or which hell hole she had crawled out of. "Does this morning look good to you?" She snapped. "What the fuck were you doing in there?" Mera adjusted her sleeve and hair slowly, like she had all the time in the world. "I was with the prince. What’s it to you?” She said calmly. Ciara laughed bitterly, shaking her head. “Are you playing me for a fool? I can see that, you stupid bitch." "Then why did you ask?" Ciara went closer to her, lowering her voice. “Do you think that you can just walk in here and spread your legs for him?" Mera looked up at the woman challenging her. She was beautiful and busty, and the stench of a jealous woman was all over her. “And who are you? I didn't know that there was a waiting list." Ciara's hand shot out and grabbed Mera's arm. "You don't know who you're playing with, little girl. I can destroy you.” Mera looked down at the hand gripping her arm tightly.
Chapter 46
46. Adrian woke up choking on smoke, but then he looked around. The air was clear and calm. No, it couldn’t be. He got up from the bed and went to look out the window. He was in the provided chambers given to him by the king in the palace, but right then, he didn’t know where it was. He sighed in relief. “So it was just a nightmare.” That was when he heard screaming again. He pressed both hands to his head, knowing that it wasn’t from outside. Then the vision engulfed him. He was standing in a field soaked in blood. The sky was as red as blood and fire, and bodies were everywhere. Their throats were cut out, and their eyes had been left open in death. A horn blew in the distance and everyone was in a frenzy. So many people crying and running for their lives. Adrian tried to move to help, but his boots were stuck in mud. He looked down at his legs to drag them out, and ti his terrror, it wasn’t mud! It was blood! "Fight!" Someone screamed behind him. He turned and sa
Chapter 47
47. Adrian was halfway dressed when someone started pounding on his door. He sighed. "For fuck's sake! Does nobody in this place know how to let a man breathe?" The knock came again. He put on his shirt before walking to the door. "Who is it?" He called. "Royal summons!" A male voice answered quickly. "It’s urgent!" Adrian opened the door. A young guard stood there, slightly out of breath, eyes wide like he had run all the way to him. "What now?" The guard stood up straight, catching his breath. “His majesty requests your presence immediately." "I was on my way out. What is the problem?” "It concerns a child, sir. She’s the daughter of a duke wand fell ill last night. The healers have tried everything and nothing is working. He rushed here after hearing of you.” Adrian just stared at the guard. He was tired and wanted to go back, but he couldn’t refuse a sick child. "They said you have... abilities, sir." "How old is she?" Adrian asked quietly. "Six
Chapter 48
48. "Slowly, little one. Just take small sips and you'll be okay." Adrian held the cup of pure water to the little girl's lips. Her hands were weak, shaking as she tried to hold it. He placed it down and kept feeding her the honey medicine. Suddenly, she started to cough hard. Adrian quickly moved the medicine and water. Almost immediately , her mall body bent forward and dark liquid spilled from her mouth onto the floor. "Good." He muttered. "Get all that poison out." Outside the door, the duke shouted. "HELLO? I WANT TO COME IN, WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MY DAUGHTER?" "Stay there unless you want her dead!" Silence ensued. The girl's body shook again and Adrian pressed his palm gently to her chest. His screen popped up. [CURSE BREAKING... 62%] The girl screamed in pain, her body contortioning like something was controlling her. "Not today for you. You must live!" He forced more of the mixture into her mouth. "Swallow it all!" Her eyes rolled back and she shook
Chapter 49
49. “Maid girl, huh?” Mera's grip tightened in Macy's hair. "Tell me your secret, tell me what you are. Then agree to follow me. Swear it on your head.” Adrian laughed in her face. "You must think I'm a fucking joke."Mera's smile dropped as she saw the crazed look on his face. How could he still be like this despite all age had done? Just who was this man? "You are not normal." "I never said I was." "Ah, so you admit it, then.” She pushed on. "Say what you are hiding, tell me what you are." "Untie my sister first." She yanked Macy's head back harder. "I'm not stupid." Macy winced. “Adrian, don’t mind her. Don’t tell her any of your secrets. It would be an honour to die for my big brother and keep him safe.” "SHUT UP!” Mera snarled at Macy before turning to Adrian. “How were you even able to track us here? Why stay here when you can be so much better and in where you belong?” Adrian didn’t respond. "You're making this harder than it needs to be."
Chapter 50
50. Adrian got to Master Orion's and stopped at the entrance to look up at the place. It was a very beautiful place with lovely designs and servants crawling around. "Well..." He muttered. "This is new." Not in the fact that it was a beautiful place, but that master Orion had never invited him or spoken much to him before. A servant walked up to Adrian and bowed. "Sir Bloodson, Master Orion has been expecting you. Please follow me." As they walked in, Adrian noticed that the place had a weird vibe and smell to it. It wasn't awful or unpleasant, but it just felt strange to his soul. He looked around. "You people live well." He said casually. The servant didn't respond. They walked through two ante rooms and a long corridor until they got to a large dining room. As the door opened, Adrian came face to face with Master Orion. "Adrian, you look well." Master Orion said with a polite smile. "Thank you for coming." Adrian walked in. "You invited me to your home, Master
