“Did you think a useless nonmagical like you deserved a woman like me?!”
Adrian's breath quickened while he gazed at the woman he once called his wife. Ciara stood over the pool of wetness formed by Adrian's blood. His limbs were cut off, ribs broken in several places. Every breath was agony, but none of them compared to the pain he felt in his heart; The sting of betrayal! “Let’s finish this already. This pathetic loser is not worth it!” Ciara’s mother chipped in. She cast a ruthless glare at Adrian before she spit on him. “I hope I didn't chop your limbs too hard, Adrian. A useless servant like you must know his place in his next life!” A tall man dressed in ornate attire said and laughed while circling Adrian. This was Prince Henry, heir to the silician throne. He settled beside Ciara, wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her in for a deep kiss! Bile rose to Adrian’s throat while he watched the disgusting scene! Ciara moaned hungrily before she fixed her eyes on Adrian again. “I thought you'd take the hint. But you were so fucking dumb! I have never loved you. I only married you because I needed someone to pin the pregnancy on…” Ciara's eyes roamed to the baby boy her mother held in her arms. Adrian's blood ran cold. What the fuck was she implying? “That's right dummy! The child isn't yours! He's of royal blood, not the adulterated trash that flows through your veins!” “But now that the king is dead, Henry will take the throne and make me his Queen. A position I rightly deserve, and not being a wife to a fucking lowlife servant like yourself!” Ciara snapped at him. There was no need hiding the truth anymore. He would die soon anyway. Adrian tried to say something, but his airway was soaked with blood. He only gurgled out a huge quantity while he struggled. “Disgusting pig!” Prince Henry spat on him and slowly drew his sword. “It was fun messing with your head, Adrian. But it's over now. And should the gods grant you another life, remember not to aim too high. Find a woman of your dogshit worth, and not a B-class healer like Ciara,” Prince Henry slowly approached Adrian and raised his sword, aiming at his throat. But then a shrewd smile swept across his face and he sheathed his sword. “On a second thought, let me show you how the magic of an A-class warrior like myself feels like!” Henry said and stretched forth his hand. A blue light soon formed around it and with a charge, Henry fired a blast of blue energy at Adrian's chest. The energy shattered whatever ribs were left, leaving an open wound from which Adrian's heart popped out. Henry breathed heavily as he gazed at the mess he made. He smiled at the impact. “And now, for the final touches,” Prince Henry said and placed his hand on the wall. Energy shot from him rapidly and shaked the foundation of the house to its core. The collapse was inevitable! “People would think he died in an accident. Great thinking my love!” Ciara beamed and kissed Henry deeply. She could have healed him, she was powerful enough, but Ciara chose to let Adrian die. But then the walls shaked, and the roof danced like it was about to fall. “Let's go, now!” Henry took Ciara’s hand and led her out of the house. Casting Adrian a final disgusted look, Ciara disappeared into the distance. Adrian could feel his life force draining. He barely had a consciousness. A stream of tears fell from his eyes while he gazed at the ceiling. “If only I could make them pay…” Adrian thought to himself. The waves of energy shooting through the building made the ceiling bump. The collapse was inevitable. But suddenly, a red light appeared on the ceiling. Adrian’s eyes focused on the light that gave a strong magical hue. Strange symbols soon followed and Adrian's lips parted in shock as a sigil appeared. It was the mark of the dragon. [ARISE… ADRIAN BLOODSON, MY DRAGON KNIGHT…] A deep, beastly voice called out to Adrian from the void. Adrian was shocked. Who was calling him? And when his heart pumped for the last time, the ceiling collapsed on him. And then, everything went dark. - “Adrian Bloodson! Get down here at once you godforsaken animal!” Adrian gasped as he opened his eyes. He heard his father-in-law's voice call to him from his sleep. Adrian rubbed his eyes. What a strange dream he had. In it he had died, murdered by the very people he called family. But Adrian's eyes soon settled on the necklace that sat carefully on the wooden table, a gift he had given to Ciara when she was six months pregnant. It couldn't be! It wasn't a dream at all! “I have been reborn!” Adrian marveled at the possibility. How could this happen? He was a nonmagical, he didn't have a single strain of magic inside him. In Scilicia, everyone at least belonged to one of the five classes of magic. Even the most useless, the E-class, was more valued than nonmagicals. And this was why Adrian loved Ciara so much. He thought she married him not for status but for love. But it was all a fucking lie! “I'll pluck your fucking eyes out if I come up to that room!” Judas, Adrian's father-in-law yelled again. Adrian frowned deeply as he stood on his feet. That was when he noticed the strange tattoos that had covered his arms. They felt warm, like a little flame, and when Adrian clenched his fist, the tattoos glowed red! Adrian gasped in shock. A strange ripple of energy shot through his body and a red screen with ancient letters suddenly appeared before him. But Adrian could read it somehow. [Welcome, Adrian Bloodson, Dragon Knight Reborn] Adrian raised his brow. This has never happened to him before. More of the ancient letters appeared in rapid succession. [Magik Class: S-Class] [Primary Affinity: Draconic Flame] [Secondary Affinities: Aether, Earth, Combat Reinforcement.] [Energy capacity: unlimited potential] [WARNING!] [SYSTEM ALERT: Threat detected; hostile entity approaching.] [Dragon Knight Adrian Bloodson, this attack is not a trial. Failure will result in permanent termination.] Then the red screen vanished. “I have S-class magik?” Adrian shuddered at the possibility, too stunned to even think about the danger approaching. This changes everything! Having magic was grand enough but S-class magic was an impossible class to attain! Not even the greatest cultivators in Silician history have done it! S-class magik only existed in books as an idea. A theory proposed by ancient mages of old. It was god-level magik. It could alter the fabrics of time and reality. Almost diabolical! Adrian calmed his nerves. If he was reborn, then he had to make good use of his second chance. He had knowledge of everything that would happen within the next three months. That would set him on a path to royalty! He knew every Dark Mages attack, and knew the correct strategies that could have prevented them. The King himself would pay for that knowledge! Adrian would be filthy rich in gold and status! And Adrian knew he could finally make his killers pay! Just then, the door blasted open and Judas walked in with a frown on his face, and a knife at hand. He pointed his finger at Adrian and approached. Adrian watched the man who held him down while the Prince chopped his limbs off. Anger surged within Adrian's heart. “You stay under my roof and eat my food but still you disobey me? I'll teach you a fucking lesson you maggot!” Judas groaned and swung the knife at Adrian's neck! It wasn't the first time he had beaten Adrian up. Judas was convinced Adrian would cower again, as always. But the magik took over! Adrian dodged the attack and punched Judas so hard he flew in the air before he crashed to the wall! He cried out in pain as a powerful aura of energy surrounded Adrian while he clenched his fist. Judas melted before the man he was looking at. “Don't ever put your fucking hands on me again!” Adrian's voice was cold and commanding. Judas glared at him in shock as Adrian slowly approached. What the hell happened to his useless son-in-law?Latest Chapter

42. The war alarm rang so loud it shook the buildings. Within minutes, the palace had changed into something else. The servants moved around wildly, and guards shouted orders at each other . Soldiers moved fast into the courtyard, fastening their armour and grabbing shields before standing in formation. Mages stood in rows, hands glowing faintly, ready. Everyone wondered what was going on as there had been no prior preparations for war. But the king told them to be steadfast. An hour passed by of them just waiting. Adrian stood beside the king on the high balcony overlooking the grounds. The king folded his arms and turned to Adrian. "Well, Sir Bloodson, I see no army. Do you?” The visiting dignitary behind them looked pale. "I should not have stayed the night.” The man muttered. "This is madness, I have to go home, my wife must be back from her visits too." Adrian kept his eyes on the horizon. "They're coming." The king exhaled. "My entire court is on edge becaus

41. Adrian couldn’t sleep. He had been able to get a few nights of rest after giving his condolences to the family of the dead… Ciara, but for some reason, this night was different. He sighed, forcing himself to go back to sleep, and that was when he heard a powerful voice in his head. “Wake up, Adrian!” Adrian sat upright in his bed with sweat running down his back. He looked around ti confirm that he was alone and sighed. "Who is there?” Adrian asked aloud. “Let me get some sleep!” “This is the powerful and mighty dragon, Adrian! You are running out of time!” Adrian felt a splitting headache come on, followed by a series of quick moving scenes. It was almost like he was in a trance, but he was awake and well. All the things he saw were extremely violent. He saw a battlefield where the sky was black with smoke and the air smelled like the mingling of blood and ash and fire. He turn r around to see a soldier run past him with half his face gone. Another one was crawli

40. Henry did not give Ciara's father any time to change his mind. Not like anything could even happen if he did. He had set his eyes on him even before he even offered to be the sacrifice. The old man barely had the door closed behind him before Henry grabbed his arm. "Move!” Henry said coldly. Ciara's father looked back once at his house. His wife was still on the floor, crying. "Please…” The old man said. "Be gentle with her, take care of them." “Yeah, whatever.” Was all Henry said. "Your highness?” Ciara’s father said, struggling to breathe as he got into the carriage. "Do you swear that my daughter will live if I die?" Henry didn't even look at him. "Yes, why are you asking? Cold feet already? Too afraid to trade the fate of your daughter?” Ciara’s father shook his head. “None of those, I just want to be sure. I’m about to die.” When they got to the palace, Prince Henry ignored everyone greeting him and went straight up to his father’s chambers. "Announ

39. Henry did not stop walking until the court doors were far behind him. His chest was tight and his hands were still shaking. Just one slip up was all it would have taken to ruin his reputation. "Stupid woman!” He cursed under his breath. He pushed open the door to the private lounge bar at the palace and grabbed the first bottle he saw. He didn't even bother with a cup. He drank straight from it. The burn hit his throat and he welcomed it. “Sir, are you…?” The bartender asked but then left immediately Henry shot him a withering glare. "How the hell did it get this messy?" He whispered to himself. He knew it. He shouldn’t have gotten involved with Ciara, but he just couldn’t resist her charms when she came on to him. He took another large swig and then slammed the bottle down on the table so hard that there was a small crack at the bottom. "I should've never touched that dumb bitch." But he knew that was a lie. He had wanted Ciara even before she came on to him.

38. It didn’t take long to summon the court again. The members were still gossiping from the last trial when the royal bells rang and messengers were sent out to give the members of the court their urgent invitations. They all rushed in, wondering what could possibly make the king summon them urgently. The most urgent meeting there was had a day’s notice and it was the last case of Sir Bloodson VS the kingdom. "This had better be good.” One of the ladies said, taking her seat. "It's that Bloodson again, I’m sure. Before him, we always had a week’s notice.” “Maybe he has another dramatic speech prepared to sway his majesty." The doors opened. The king walked in first with his guards and a serious look on his face, followed by Princess Sue who looked quite pleased, and then Prince Henry followed close behind. Adrian came in last, dressed in plain clean clothes this time, though the bruises on his face were still there. The murmuring grew louder and then the king raised

37. The guards were not pleased releasing Adrian, but they had no choice. Adrian could see it in their eyes that if it were up to them, the trial would have gone a lot differently. But right now, Adrian had bigger fish to fry. He fell to the ground the moment the chains were gone, unable to feel his limbs. But then he stood up, and then he walked out, now temporarily free. I need to tend to my wounds, he thought, rubbing the raw spots on his wrists. As he walked out, he heard an all-too familiar voice. "Murderer!” He turned to see Ciara glaring at him. “Did you really think you could twist the king's mind with your weakness? Pathetic." Adrian didn't even glance her way. He walked straight past her, ignoring her taunts. She was his enemy now, she had tried to have him executed. But why did she hate him so? Even after he left her to fool around with the prince as much as she wanted? He shook his head. He was having too many thoughts at once. What he needed now was a calm
