Resource Mining
'You defeated the Qalupalik?""Yes I did." answered lex, with a proud smile."Have this."lex stretched his hand forward. Thanks Kate replied, stunned. Admiring the pearl Lex handed over to her."I thought about how servants could be bought out of slavery, but couldn't be themselves out."So how about we hire a commoner, and agree to hand him this pearl, to give you your freedom in return.Kate received the pearl and took a long stare at it."But." "What about you?"She asked. lex paused, "Well there aren't any options for now, a commoner can only buy a slave at a time and we can't possibly buy our selves out from the nobles."Lex answered, a thoughtful look strapped across he's face, "That's true." Kate spoke in a low tone."But it doesn't really matter Kate." Lex waved his hand dismissively."It doesn't?""Yes I'll figure mine out, what matters is that i promise to get you back home by all means." lex spoke with a warm smile.Kate face was flushed red, she was about to speak, but
Being a Knight
Lex understood, just as he wrote in his novel, every gifted knight, whenever their power is awakened or develops, would be endowed with a particular armour. That's what made them differentiate between the knights and their ranks, for example the iron armoured knights who stood close to the young noble were Master knights. The red armour in the box represented that of a beginner knight. Lex received the box from the iron armoured knight who returned back to his position. Thank you your highness, Lex spoke bowing curtly. The white armoured knight then proceeded to speak. "Ever since the lower hand quest as begun in the city of Greyl, it has never occurred for a layman or rather a slave to participate in the games." "I'll be watching, you may leave now." Lex and Dane turned, walking out of the hall. When they arrived outside the hall, Lex gaze fell on the sun which had began setting, he stretched, wondering how the day had ended so fast. He then looked towards Dane and spoke, al
The seal
Lex walked down the hall way towards the main lobby of the Knight's quarters, a bustling restaurant filled with knights of various kinds, he quickly spotted an empty table and two chairs. Moments later, a waiter found him. Without hesitation lex ordered food, when it arrived shortly after the waiter smiled and said "please enjoy." Lex nodded appreciatively before turning his attention back to the food, the food was not plain or luxurious but doused with an enticing aroma. "Not bad..Not bad at all." lex spoke as he dug in. "Enjoying your food?" A female voice spoke just right at his front. Lex was stunned to see the figure of Kate seating on the other side if the table, her chair titled backwards a bit, smirking. He looked side ways, amidst munching the delicious food he spoke, am I hallucinating? "Not at all." Kate replied. The armour looks good, "Makes it hard tracking you." Kate commented. Looking down at his glowing armour. "How did you get here so fast and unno
Cave Gremlins
Lex was dazed as he stared at the figure that approached him and the two remaining miners. Mandarin, the main character of his Novel! He hadn't occured to him that they might eventually meet, as the figure in red armour got close, Lex felt a bit nervous. "What might your name be?" Mandarin asked, taking off his helmet, retrieving his hair to it's original form with his hands while gazing at Lex who stood closest to his position. "Lex Sterling," Lex answered firmly, Mandarin nodded then walked up to the remaining two right behind him, Lex turned peering at Mandarin. Just as he wrote, Mandarin was a humble and peaceful fellow, it was obvious as he stooped so low to have a conversation with miners like them. "There's nothing to worry about." Mandarin spoke, still chatting with the other two who seemed to be together. "We might all seem divided, but we really aren't, make sure not to go to deep into the dungeon and of course get as many treasures or anything of use that you
Knight's Hold
Lex dug deeper, then smiled, he wasn't wrong afterall. Deep in the ground was filled with various coins. *** Two hours passed. The dungeon shook and began crashing into itself, signifying the boss has been defeated, all of the callous miners and knights began finding their way out of the dungeon. Mandarin was the last to step out of the dungeon, he's knees shrinked down on the ground, protesting, he tried to catch his breath, trickles of sweat falling profusely from his head. He stared at the young noble Sebastian, who stood not too far away, chatting with some of the female miners, he wished he and his father were rich just like the noble Sebastian families, he wouldn't have to worry about sharing dungeon. It was meant to be seen as a sign of peace, but when it's done too much, it becomes really suspicious and it's an evidence that they've grown weak, Mandarin eyes searched for the callous miners wondering if they made it out. Everyone outside the dungeon began whisperi
Three groups
We best hurry, else they start before us. Sean nodded. "Alright then, let's go." Lex gaze fell on the tent, it was merely a fly in contrast to the battling arena, this shouldn't be too hard, he thought to himself. He wasn't going to let his guard down, after all the tent was attached to he arena, so it might be extended to the arena. He doubted it, but that might be the case. They arrived at the entrance, lex walked forward, pushing the curtains sideways, proceeding into the tent. On entering the tent, lex was shocked! So were the other two miners who were behind him. The atmosphere immediately changed. What caught lex's eyes the most was how big the place was, various huge pillars holding the mighty building up. It ranged to about fifty feet high and 120 feet wide. Yet it was barely enough to contain the number of men inside, lex was totally dumbfounded, he had never seen so much people gather in a place. Far away at the front were three elegant looking mages, who stood mag
Glacier Forest
The chill cold washed over lex like a frozen ocean, lex opened his eyes. Snow spread wide all around him, he could feel his feet sinking into the icey ground slowly, in the snowy region were also trees, icicles dropping from their leafs, he could also see snow coated mountains standing tall far away, he shivered. where he stood was a hill. "What is this place?" There was no response, only the deadly serene sound of the cold wind, and what seemed like a wolf's howl. {Ding!} A satisfying sound echoed in lex's mind, a drop of water threatened to fall from his eyes, after all that chaos, he'd absolutely forgotten he had a system. He smiled. Checking the notification. {Status function unlocked!} "Yes!" He'd been waiting for that for a while now, the status feature of the system. lex tapped on it. {Status window unlocked!} {Host's Status Window} {Name:} Lex sterling {Age} sixteen. {Title}: servant {Points}:0 {Skills}: Daze {Passive skills}: None {Mana pool}:
The Bear and the Wolf.
The battle furiously continued, neither sides giving way for the other. Lex could feel his feet sinking into the cold ground and the cold slowly freezing his blood, he breathed out, waiting for one side to be injured. He glanced around, so many trees had fallen, it wouldn't take too long, before the one he's hiding behind also falls. Slash! There was a loud groan. The bear had taken a deep injury, lex's pale sunken face, managed to carve out a smile, one was finally about to die. The wolf lunged in for a final hit with his claw, but unfortunately met a barrier of vines, the bear tied the vines around itself in a huge ball, protecting itself from the wolf's hit. Lex was shocked and impressed at once, the bears and wolf's back on earth could never put on a good show like this. Immediately the wolf came on contact with the bear's vine, it wrapped around its claw, going straight for it's neck, the wolf tried to pull away but it was no use, it's hands also couldn't reach it neck, so
The hydra
Lex let out a ragged breath and a weak shake, he'd been in the barely fitting hole for a couple of minutes now and the cold had began sinking into his very being. He had to leave really quick, not only because of the cold, but because of the lower hand quest itself, they hadn't been given any time frame and he was absolutely certain that sooner or later the ones with the magic stones would be transferred to the next round. For now, he had to find the magic stones and hold on to it, that was the most reasonable way to get out of this dungeon, it's not often a servant like him gets this opportunity. He retracted the spell. The vines immediately vanished. he was welcomed by the more intense cold of the dungeon.Compared to this, inside the vine ball was even warmer. He stood up on his feet, senses alert, eyes darting, this dungeon was even more dangerous than he has anticipated and he was going to take it more seriously from henceforth. Lex decided to check out the wolf and bear that had
The Other Dungeons
The six eyes of the hydra instinctively snapped open, on sensing the imminent danger. Lex stood right at the entrance of the cave, fazed. His trembling hands clenched as he fell into resolve, he was going to take down this beast because that was the only way to survive. Vines materialized from the ground, surrounding him firmly, in a curved posture focused on the hydra right before lex. Lex had long awaited a response, right from the moment the hydra should have sensed Mana circulating through his body. He didn't mind. Neither did he care. Maybe thunder could indeed strike in two places at once. He wondered to himself. Lex took a stance and was ready to release the all out vine attack, but in a split second, the hydra had managed to send a strike at him, the strike was so powerful it sent him flying backwards various meters away and yet so fast, he was absolutely caught unawares. The hit was a shock to lex, he hadn't had time to prepare, neither was there a possible way for him t
