Roman Snow goes rigid like a dead body, that's how shocked at the information that Mister Lee has thrown at him. Yet, his brain works overtime, and manages to laugh it off, even with crow feets in the corners of his eyes. "Mister Gustin Lee, are you a comedian?" He snorts. "Where did you make such outrageous findings? Who fed you all those lies?" Mister Lee's face is as still as a rock, and he refuses to allow his emotions to be played with. He has so many years of experience under his breath, and this means that he has met people like Roman Snow before. Old men who would look into his eyes and shamelessly lie. He leans forward, clicking his tongue as he does so. "Let's cut the crap, okay? Because both of us know the truth," Mister Lee says. "You and I know the truth, this is the truth." "That I have a child?!" Roman snorts. "A child that I don't know about?! Stop the bull crap! My beautiful wife and I are without children. You think this is even an appropriate thing to call m

"So, I spoke to Roman Snow," Lee tells Stanley as they take a stroll outside his hotel building. "Did you?" Stanley looks at him. "I mean, that's pretty obvious. He is the uncle, maybe he has something for you." "Yeah, he wasn't willing at first, he didn't want anything to do with exposing his nephew, and I think he is just really scared of him." Lee explains. "I thought he would have been smarter, you know, if Fanny and the anonymous Lord Snow take each other out, he will be the next to take everything. I mean, he almost tasted that power before," Now, they are standing in front of each other, only the sound of the water trickling from a nearby fountain breaks the silence. "So, you are very close to finding this anonymous Lord Snow guy?" Stanley asks. "I can taste him on my tongue," Lee nods. "He won't even know when I strike him." Stanley almost laughs, but he holds himself. "That's a nice attitude, Gustin. That's why I am happy to invite you for the eight death anniversary

She laughs, feeling grateful because he has just slightly lifted her depression. Once they are inside, they are greeted by the crowds that are being entered by a live band. The first people they bump into are Stanley and Lauren, and gosh, they look so beautiful too. Lauren and Anna hug each other, and compliment dresses amidst giggling. "Hi, Stanley," Anna pushes some of her hair away from her face. "Hello, Anna." Stanley nods at her. "Doesn't it feel nice to get away from work for a second?" Lauren teases her. Anna rolls her eyes, but she laughs in agreement. That's when Gustin Lee approaches them with a very full glass of wine, and from the twinkle in his eyes, it seems that he is already a little drunk. "Um, Mister Stanley!" He goes over to Stanley and shakes his hand and even gives him a manly hug. "Oh, Gustin, you made it," Stanley turns to the rest. "This is um..." "Gustin Lee?" Lauren's eyes widen. "Oh my God, what a surprise!" Mister Lee wipes his eyes a few times,

104. Lauren sees that her friend is going into a panic attack, so she grabs her hand and rubs her back. "Anna, are you fine?" She asks. Anna shakes her head, her eyes shining with tears, because she can't pretend to be fine. "I knew that he was cheating on me with many women, but I always prided myself on knowing them. I thought it would hurt less that way, but her?!" She points. "She was one of my good friends. She was even the one who I cried to whenever the hurt got too much to handle!" Bert tilts his head to the side, so that even though Anna is crying and hiding, he can be able to see her face. "Look at the cheap foundation she has on her face!" He laughs with mockery. "That's what you get for betraying your family and the one who once saw you fit to be his wife!" "You should leave," Stanley says. "Yes, go," Seven adds. "I'm sure that a big fool like you has a lot to say, but she is not in the mood to hear any of that." Bert snorts at the two men, looking up and down at t

Stanley takes out his phone and makes his own call. His is even shorter than Bert's, but it's packed with more power and influence. "Hello, Paris?" Stanley says. "Yes, it's me. I need you to go back into the office and make an official order to terminate seventy percent of any partnership that the Smith family has with us." Bert snorts with laughter, "Oh, please. You think that I am going to believe that shit? Do you think that I was born yesterday?" "Yes, sir. I will get to work immediately," Paris answers. Bert starts to dramatically clap once Stanley ends the call. "Absolutely breathtaking," he mocks wickedly. "Jesus, you actually think that I am going to fall for it? I'm supposed to believe that you, with that cheap ass suit, is going to have any say in my family's matters?!" A small smile appears on the corner of Stanley's lip. "If I were you, I would have started begging already. I mean, it's not like I am going to take back what I have ordered, but you can at least try."

When Bert wants to get too close to Stanley, Seven hiss at him and gives him a warning glare. "Please, sir, I just want to apologize for the mistake that is going to cost my father everything that he has ever had." Bert begs. "Your father should come and tell that to me, himself," Stanley says. "You are free to go." "Not until you find Miss Anna Gibney and apologize for how hard you try to embarrass her, and also for putting her down." Seven says. "You are not a real man for trying to hurt a gem like her." Bert heaves with a heavy burden of sadness in his chest. "Please, you have to understand. I didn't do all of that because I hated Anna, I in fact love her. Her father only asked me to do all of that because he thought that it would be enough to force her to come back home." "It doesn't matter, you must find her and apologize," Stanley says. He gives Seven a nod, and Seven walks to Bert, grabbing him by his arm. "Hey, man, you are hurting me!" He winces. "Shut it, fool!" Sev

The amount that Stanley has called, not only slaps the oxygen out of everyone's lungs, but they can't outbid that. For a necklace?! They would absolutely go bankrupt by tomorrow! Emerald eyes are ticking, the anger inside of her is bubbling like lava. "How can Stanley pay for such a necklace?! He is nothing but a poor and lame fool!" Emerald yells. "He is trying to steal what belongs to me!" She raises her hand, because she wants to call an even more ridiculous amount, but Meg stops her. "What are you doing?! Do you have the kind of money to outbid that?!" "Do you think I'm going to allow him to have Lord Snow's mother's necklace?!" She snarls. "Go ahead, but know that you are going to get into so much money and even into a big scandal when they find out that you can't pay the amount your crazy mind is telling you to pledge!" Grudgingly, Emerald lowers her hand to the ground. She knows that Meg is telling the truth. This is something that both of them won't have, but their ha

Thankfully, even though he was very angry, Lee has managed to keep his voice just loud enough for Lauren and Stanley to have heard. "Lord Snow?!" Lauren frowns, looking at Stanley. "Honey, why does he think that you are Lord Snow?" Lee scoffs with disappointment. "I see. You didn't even have the truth to tell your wife!" Stanley moves Lauren out of the way, so that he can face this man more squarely. "Are you okay, Gustin? I told you to be easy on the alcohol!" "And are you trying to mock my husband by saying that he is Lord Snow?! Why is everyone bent on mocking our poverty today?!" She is at the verge of tears, but Stanley gathers her face in his hands. "Don't worry, honey, I'll take care of this, okay?" By that time, Lee had already left, walking in a beeline towards the dark hallway. Stanley walks towards him, and the deeper he gets in, the less he hears from the party that he left behind. In an empty board and unlit boardroom, he can see the silhouette of Gustin walking

Lee is still panicking when a blare sounds, follows by the switching on of very bright lights, that makes him whimper and tightly shut his eyes. By the time he opens them, he sees two men standing in front of him. One older than the other, but they aren't strangers to him. "Did you have a nice night's rest, Mister Lee?" Seven folds his hands. "I– I don't think I slept at all," Lee's chest moves up and down. "Well, don't worry about that," John takes out a small, but scarily sharp pocket knife. "I'll make it quick for you, so that you can have all the sleep you want in heaven!" Lee feels his heart leap out of his chest as the old man walks towards him. He always assumed that he was going to die on the job, but not like this! "Wait!" He pressed his back against the door. "Did Stanley ask you to kill me like this? My ike a fucking dog?!" John shakes his head. "Son, listen to me, Lord Snow is too busy to be dealing with minor problems like you. There are no hard feelings, you ju

"Please, Morgan, tell me that you rejected the money! Tell me that this is all a joke!!!" Roman begs, but Morgan laughs in his face. "That's the easiest money I ever made in my life," Morgan boasts. "Of course I took it!" That's all that Roman needs to hear, he runs out of the office and straight into the elevator, his phone already in his left hand. He dials in Lauren's number as quickly as he can, and the moment he hers it ring and ring, while waiting for her to pick up, it's like torture for him. "Hello?" He sighs and shuts his eyes. "Thank God, Lauren." "I'm sorry, who is this?" "It's me, Roman Snow." "Oh my God, sir!" She gasps. "I'm sorry, I didn't even know that you had my number." "Please, Mrs Adkins, we have to skip the pleasantries immediately. Where are you?" It's such an odd question that Lauren is quiet for a few seconds. "I'm in my car, sir. I just got here from the mansion," He is already on the ground floor, and he is using the side exit that takes him t
