CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE“I have to do something; I can’t stand watching this.” Lucian got up from his knees and then started moving closer to General Hector, who seemed to have rekindled his strength and was very close to killing the ninja in front of him, whose speed had drastically reduced.“General Hector? Stop!” Lucian gestured to the General, but he seemed to be so occupied with what he was doing that he barely had time to look at Lucian, who was still walking toward him with so much nervousness accompanying the guilt that refused to let him go.“General Hector? You have to listen to me! Stop fighting!”“Why? Why would you say that?” General Hector responded with an angry tone without looking at Lucian, who had already gotten very close to him.“She is a woman! Didn’t you notice that? She is a woman!” Lucian said at once, hoping that his words were going to make the General listen to him, but the look he saw on his face was unexpected.“You knew?”“Of course! I knew from the moment th

CHAPTER TWENTY-TWOLucian struggled with the guilt that crept into his mind while he watched the General who effortlessly dragged the ninja to a corner of the space, sweeping the floor with her body after giving her two heavy punches on the face, which Lucian was certain was going to give her so many bruises and swelling.“Whoever is friends with Lord Ivan is an enemy of the throne! And enemies of the throne deserve to die! All of you!” General Hector said with so much anger laced in his voice, and while he was still dragging the ninja who let go of her swords while she grunted in pain, Lucian heard the sound of heavy footsteps stomping toward them, which made him then at once.“General Hector!” Lord Ivan said with so much disappointment as soon as he saw the General, whom he was told had been burnt to ashes. He turned to look at the five men standing close to him with so much anger, while they took several steps backward, afraid of what their fate could be.“Shoot him down at once! D

CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE“You are going to end up like your soldiers, General! Their corpses are littered all over the Palace, and I have painted the walls with their blood, yours will be smeared on the walls close to the King’s chambers, and I will put your head on a stake before parading you around the Empire as the man responsible for the King’s death.”“I would love to watch you try, Lord Ivan. Your words would speak less than your actions, I assure you.” General Hector seemed very confident at that moment, but deep down, he was very sad about the death of his soldiers, who he was sure had been massacred by Lord Ivan and his mercenaries. He had not seen the massacre in the Palace, but the fact that there was no soldier around him meant that they were all dead, and if there were any survivors, then they would be in a very critical condition.“I am going to give you one last chance, General Hector, and I hope you think of the answer you are going to give to me. Where is the King?” Lord

CHAPTER TWENTY-FOURFor a moment, Lady Seraphina was convinced that General Hector was going to give her the response she desired even though she knew that he could be very stubborn. As she stood in front of him, she maintained a confident smile, hoping to hear a suitable response from him.“Go on, my love. Tell us where he is. This doesn’t have to take so much time.” Lady Seraphina got rid of the silence between her and her lover whom she had rendered speechless and heartbroken by her betrayal.“What do you want with the King?” General Hector asked with a whisper, looking at Seraphina who had suddenly become a stranger.“I want to kill him. Oh yes, I want to stab him so hard that he will bleed to death.” Seraphina said with a cold voice, unperturbed about the fact that her words shocked the General who sighed heavily before giving her a response.“I can’t tell you, Seraphina. I cannot tell you where the Emperor is. I ave sworn my allegiance to the throne, and I will continue to maint

CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE“I think she is crazy, General. How did you end up with such a person?” Lucian asked with a whisper, but when he looked at Lady Seraphina and realized that she was glaring at him, he stood erect, ready to engage if that was going to happen.“I can see that the self-acclaimed hero is standing very close to you. The combination of the two of you is so funny…” Lady Seraphina continued as soon as she saw Lucian after she had communicated silently with her father.“My love? I am going to give you one last chance to redeem yourself. My father has asked me to kill you if you fail to give me the answer I require! For the last time, where is the King?” Lady Seraphina asked imperatively, tightening her grip on her blade while she got ready to attack just in case what she expected from him didn’t come through.“Are you ready, Lucian Gale? This is really going to be a tough fight.” General Hector whispered only to the hearing of himself and Lucian who sighed heavily before tur

CHAPTER TWENTY-SIXJust when Lucian was about to attack Lady Seraphina amidst the rage that engulfed him, General Hector moved into the way and blocked him at once while he wedged Lady Seraphina’s blade with his sword.“I told you to leave her for me!” General Hector looked at Lucian who lifted his hands in full surrender before moving away slowly to the left corner while the General fought with his lover.Effortlessly, Lucian vanquished the mercenaries with single strikes, sending them sprawling to the ground while they bled from the spots where he stabbed or cut them.“Lord Ivan? It seems we are the only ones not fighting.” Lucian said after he had killed the last mercenary who was still struggling with his life after he gave him a cut on his neck. He realized that he was still breathing when he was done with the man before him, and when he saw him crawling toward Lord Ivan, he quickly moved to him and put him out of his misery right in front of the councilman who cringed at the sig

CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVENLord Ivan looked at his daughter again the moment he heard the sound of the General's sword and her blade clashing against each other. His daughter staggered backward, and almost fell to the ground, causing him to gasp. His heartbeat increased instantly, and he struggled to make it normal.“What is it, Lord Ivan? Have you suddenly lost your strength? Have you suddenly realized the reality that stands in front of you?” Lucian chuckled softly while he looked at Lord Ivan who growled for the umpteenth time before he marched forward toward Lucian with the intention of killing him. With his sword tightly gripped with both hands, Lord Ivan attempted to plunge his sword into the heart of his enemy, but Lucian was faster than he expected, hitting off his sword with the shield in his left hand.“You are too old, Lied Ivan. Perhaps, you have eventually fallen for the effects of old age. Your bones are getting weaker by the day, and I am certain that soon, your legs will nee

CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHTLucian turned to look at Lady Seraphina as well, and when he saw that she was on her knees, crawling toward her blade, he nodded in satisfaction before turning his gaze to the old man who seemed a bit carried away by what he saw.“Well, it seems your daughter will die by the sword of the General,” Lucian said with a smirk on his face, looking at the old man who growled at him angrily.“You lie! You lie! She is stronger than you think! She is going to rise!” Lord Ivan said with the little confidence he had left, and then he returned his gaze to his daughter who was still on the ground, trying to crawl toward her sword.“Is that fear I see in your eyes? The look on your face seems to say something entirely different from your words. A while ago, you seemed very certain that the General was no match for your daughter.” Lucian teased Lord Ivan, and then he sniggered at him, causing him to fume angrily at him.“I am going to shut you up!” The councilman threatened, and

CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE“Let’s get this over with,” Lucian said confidently just before he started walking slowly toward Lord Ivan who chuckled softly before he dashed at him with the intention of chopping off his head.He was glad that Lucian was no longer holding onto the shield as he had been aiming for his neck, and he was certain that nothing was going to stop him from getting him.Even though he was a bit nervous, Lucian trusted his instincts and continued moving until he got very close to the old man who attempted to plunge his sword into his heart, but Lucian dodged at once.“You are slow, Lord Ivan.” Lucian said with a smirk on his face, causing the old man to growl angrily just before he lifted his sword again to cut off his head.Lucian wedged the sword of the old man who was coming at him with his own sword, but the impact came with a lot of force that he was forced to take two steps backward while he struggled with his balance.Lord Ivan grunted furiously again, and then he l

CHAPTER-THIRTYLord Ivan realized that there was no way he could get to his daughter who desperately needed his help if he didn’t get rid of Lucian who was standing on his way. None of his attempts to maneuver his way worked as Lucian stood his ground in front of him, not ready to leave the way. While the councilman was still trying to figure out a way to handle the situation, he heard a loud grunt from his daughter which made him turn to look at her at once.“Father? Help!” Lady Seraphina pleaded with a shaky voice while she struggled to catch her breath. She was on the floor after General Hector kicked her very hard on the belly, and her face was covered with so many bruises from the punches he gave her.“You thought you were going to be higher than your master, huh? I trained you, Seraphina! I taught you everything you know, every single thing!” General Hector said angrily, and then he walked toward Seraphina and dragged her by the neck, moping the floor with her body while he drag
