Welcome young master
Chapter 11The moment Vanessa and Marcus drove off. Emilia turned to look at Adrian with curiosity on her face. "Why?" She asked after staring at him for a few seconds.Adrian turned to her. "Why what?""Why didn't you let me tell her?" Adrian just shrugged his shoulders but she stepped closer."Vanessa deserved to know the truth. She deserved to know who was actually helping her all these years." She continued. Her voice carried genuine confusion.Adrian remained quiet."She thinks those successes came from her own efforts and that cunning jerk with her."A trace of anger flashed across her face. "You need to let her know...""That's exactly why I stopped you." Adrian interrupted her. Emilia blinked. "What?"He looked toward the road where Vanessa had disappeared.“If she couldn't recognize my worth when I stood beside her, then learning it now won't change anything.” His eyes became distant.Emilia opened her mouth and then closed it because she knew he was right.Adrian smiled f
Ambushed
Adrian stood before a polished black headstone, his gaze fixed on the familiar name engraved into the stone.Richard Nightingale, his father. The man who had taught him everything. Since he was back, he had come here to pay his respects with a flower in hand and a bottle of his father’s favorite wine—a bottle of his father's favorite whisky, a twenty-five-year-old Macallan scotch whisky.Years had passed since his father's death, yet Adrian still remembered the phone call that changed everything.A tragic accident. He never believed it was that simple. The driver was never even found. Adrian had always believed that his father’s death was planned.Something about the circumstances never felt right. For years, he had hired private investigators to get to the bottom of it, but every trail led to the same end.Nothing.As though someone had erased every clue before it could be found. The cemetery was silent except for the wind. Adrian slowly uncapped a bottle of his father's favorite liqu
Boutique
Marcus laughed out loudly when he saw Adrian walking to the premium section of the boutique where he and Vanessa shopped. At first he thought he walked down here to talk to Vanessa but Adrian was actually looking through the display. He couldn't believe his eyes. What a reach? He thought. "Don't bother showing him anything from this section." He said to the attendant. The attendant was also surprised. When Adrian had stepped in she had thought he would probably get the cheapest of the suits and even try to get a discount with a coupon. She had seen a lot of people like him and were able to recognize them when they stepped in but this young man walked straight to the premium section. "Sir?"Marcus chuckled."I'm serious. You'd just be wasting your time."His eyes swept over Adrian mockingly. "The suits here start at prices you can't afford. Don't even bother."The attendant looked uncertain. She wasn't sure how to respond. Marcus and Vanessa were one of their big shot customers.
Black Card
The attendant disappeared through the glass door, clutching Adrian’s black card. From Adrian's guess she wanted to verify it with their manager. Adrian just looked amused. He couldn't wait to see the expression on their faces when they realized the truth but it was something else. He didn't want to reveal his identity just yet and that was the reason he told Emilia to keep it hidden. Everyone stared at him but Adrian sat calmly in the waiting chair near the front display, one leg slightly crossed, expression unreadable. After the sales attendant had left there was silence for a few minutes. Marcus who wore a smug smile on his face finally broke the silence first after staring at him with a smug smileHe walked a few steps closer, hands in his pockets, wearing a smug smile that didn’t reach his eyes."You should start confessing already," Marcus said casually.Adrian glanced up. He still had somewhere to go. Since he had divorced Vanessa he planned to make a stop in the city and c
Stranger
“I should better get going,” Marcus muttered to himself. Marcus lightly grabbed Vanessa’s hand. “Since the manager is here he would handle it himself. We should leave, we're already done here.”Vanessa stared at Adrian for a moment. She never knew he was that kind of person. Her guess was simple, he must have swindled it off Emilia. But as Marcus led her towards the exit, Vanessa frowned, something didn't sit well with her.“Wait,” she said, glancing back over her shoulder. “How come the manager didn’t even recognize you?”Her voice carried disbelief.“That’s disrespectful. You’re the heir of one of the top families in the city.”She looked irritated now, her pride wounded more than anything else.“I’ll go talk to him.”She started to turn back, but Marcus tightened his grip on her wrist.“No,” he said quickly.Vanessa paused.Marcus forced a calm smile. “Maybe he just didn’t notice properly. It happens.”He shrugged lightly. But the tightness in his jaw betrayed him.Something abo
He is my Date
Adrian adjusted his suit as he looked watched the city below from the balcony. After he left the store he had seen a text from Emilia that a hotel reserve and a car was ready for him. Once he was done he went down to the Escalade and a while later he pulled up at the grand entrance of Westbrook city Gala. Adrian straightened his suit jacket as he stepped out. The charcoal-black suit fit perfectly just as expected.Adrian adjusted his cufflinks and glanced briefly at the line of luxury vehicles parked outside.Rolls-Royces, Bentleys, Maybachs and even a few limited-edition supercars. No one really noticed him. A faint smile tugged at his lips. This was the life he was once used to before he stepped away from the spotlight. Maybe after this, I should finally get a car of my own. He thought to himself. The thought amused him.For years, he had never cared much about appearances but now that he was stepping back into this world, perhaps it was time.He handed the driver a tip and hea
Lawson's Matriarch
Marcus almost choked. He couldn't believe that a bum like him could pull a lady like this but it was happening right in front of him. Helen face paled.Even tyler couldn't believe his eyes.Helen finally found her voice.“Ma’am. I'm deeply sorry. I'm Helen Lawson, the matriarch of the Lawson's family.” She stepped forward to introduce herself. Her face was pale white and her tone immediately became respectful."Miss Caldwell… we're sorry if there was some misunderstanding there must be some mistake.” Her lips twitched.Infront of Emilia Caldwell all her haughtiness vanished. This was the woman countless wealthy heirs pursued unsuccessfully. The woman who could make companies make massive profits with just a word. That same woman was the one that had just publicly claimed Adrian as her date and she had even disrespected her."I didn't recognize you immediately." Helen bowed her head really low.Adrian himself raised an eyebrow. He looked down at Emilia's hand wrapped around his arm.
Your Clock Is Ticking
The grand ballroom buzzed with conversation.Crystal chandeliers illuminated the hall while influential businessmen and socialites mingled beneath them.Yet Adrian's attention wasn't on any of that.He glanced around briefly before turning to Emilia. "Where's my mother?"Emilia smiled faintly.“She wanted to see you come, I'll take you there."Adrian wasn't surprised. His mother had never enjoyed crowded events.Even when she attended them, she preferred private lounges away from unnecessary attention.Emilia motioned toward a restricted corridor. The two walked past several security checkpoints before reaching a private wing reserved exclusively for the highest-ranking guests. Two black-suited bodyguards standing outside a set of double doors immediately stepped aside. The doors opened and they both entered. He saw her.Catherine Nightingale. She sat calmly on a cream-colored sofa with a cup of tea in hand. Her posture was elegant and effortless. The kind of elegance that came not j

A week had passed since the Orion Gala.Inside his suite in one of the most exclusive hotels in Westbrook city. Adrian stood before the floor-to-ceiling windows with a phone pressed against his ear.The city lit up by neon lights stretched beneath him. The neon lights lit up the city. Throughout this week he had been holed up in here getting acquainted with everything. His phone rang and he picked up the receiver. "Just as expected," Emilia said from the other end of the line.A faint smile appeared on his face as he listened. "Vanessa Lawson has been running around nonstop."Adrian wasn't surprised."Looking for investors?""Investors. Partners. Credit extensions. Emergency funding."Adrian chuckled softly.“That's good.” The withdrawal of 's support had hit the Lawsons far harder than they anticipated. For years, they had enjoyed resources they never truly earned, unexpected contracts and partnerships that was what the company was built on. Now that those resources had disappe

The gala was gradually winding down. Many of the important guests had already begun leaving, while others remained in small groups discussing business opportunities and future partnerships.Adrian stood near one of the side corridors and Emilia walked beside him."Heading back already?" she asked.Adrian nodded."I've had enough socializing for one night."A faint smile appeared on Emilia's face."Going back to the hotel?""Yeah."The two continued walking toward one of the quieter exits.Just as they reached the doorway, a familiar voice suddenly called out."Adrian."Both of them stopped and Adrian frowned slightly.Vanessa stood several feet away. She had clearly been waiting. The silver evening gown she wore earlier was still stunning, but there was a tension on her face that hadn't been there before.Emilia glanced between the two of them."I'll wait outside."Without waiting for a response, she walked ahead and left through the doors.Vanessa crossed her arms."So this is your p
