CHAPTER 11
Back in the dim, damp depths of the Stone Burrow Dungeon, the silence was broken by a relentless, mechanical rhythm.*CLANG. CLANG. CLANG.*Yuchen sat cross-legged on a smooth boulder, eating a slightly bruised apple. He watched the newly christened "Mining Drone" at work. The construct was a beautiful, mindless instrument of capitalism. Its modified pickaxe arm swung with perfect, tireless precision, tearing chunks of Spirit Iron out of the wall and tossing them into a pile.Every time the pile grew large enough, Yuchen simply walked over, held out his new Spatial Ring, and vacuumed the precious ore into his expanded inventory."This is the life," Yuchen sighed happily, taking a bite of his apple. "Passive income. The ultimate dream of every gamer."*"It is remarkably efficient,"* Taion admitted, his voice echoing in Yuchen's mind. *"But it is also incredibly fragile. If a stray goblin wandered in here, that construct would be scrap metal in seconds."*Yuchen chewed slowly, his eyes
CHAPTER 12
The next two weeks were a blur of work and nothing else.Yuchen had established a brutal routine. By day, his modified Mining Drone stripped the Stone Burrow Dungeon of its remaining Spirit Iron. By night, Yuchen took to the Whispering Woods, utilizing his newly awakened Mage class and the lingering physical enhancements of the Ashen Core to farm monsters.“Take this, you walking bag of EXP!” Yuchen yelled, thrusting his hand forward.A sphere of condensed thermal energy materialized in his palm. With a sharp flick of his wrist, he sent the blazing projectile hurtling through the dark forest.“BOOM!”The [Basic Fireball] slammed into a Shadow Panther mid-pounce, incinerating the beast in a flash of blinding light. The monster hit the ground with a heavy thud, instantly dissolving into a scattering of digital light, leaving behind a pristine pelt and a small cluster of silver coins.[Mage Class Level: 4 reached.][MP capacity increased. Magic Penetration +2.]Yuchen wiped a smudge of s

Down in the clearing, the Hobgoblin commander let out a furious roar, ordering the entire army to charge at the lone swordsman.Tyron Stone didn’t even flinch. He let out a soft, almost melancholic sigh.“I didn't want to resort to violence,” Tyron’s voice echoed clearly, carrying a magical, resonant timbre that made it sound like he was speaking directly into everyone’s soul. “But I cannot allow the strong to trample the weak. [Sacred Heavens: First Form - Sweeping Light].”Tyron swung his broadsword. He didn't just cut the goblins. He cut the *air*. A massive, crescent-shaped wave of blinding golden energy erupted from the blade, expanding outward in a perfect 180-degree arc.“SKREEEE-!”The entire goblin army, all fifty heavily armored hobgoblins and their dire-wolves, were instantly vaporized. Not cut in half. No.Vaporized into golden dust. The shockwave continued, carving a deep, smoking trench into the forest floor and uprooting a dozen trees before finally dissipating. The c

"You are a menace to society," Taion commented, manifesting on a rock nearby."I am an entrepreneur," Yuchen corrected, picking up his venom sacs. "And I just saved myself thousands of MP. Time to head home. I have grinding to do."Back at his newly purchased estate in the inner ring, Yuchen stood bare-chested in the center of his private training courtyard. He was completely drenched in sweat, his muscles burning with lactic acid."Ninety-eight... ninety-nine... one hundred!" Yuchen gasped, dropping the big, unrefined block of Spirit Iron he had been using as a makeshift kettlebell. The ground cracked beneath the sheer weight of the ore.He couldn't rely solely on his Mage class. Mages were glass cannons. If an enemy closed the distance or used a 'Silence' spell, he would be instantly killed. He needed to max out his physical stats. He needed the Fighter class leveled up."Again!" Yuchen snarled at himself. He picked up a weighted wooden practice sword and began running through basi
CHAPTER 15
The jagged obsidian gates of the 'Weeping Hollows' loomed overhead. This was a solid B-Rank dungeon, a massive leap from the F-Rank caves Yuchen had been exploiting. Toxic purple miasma leaked from the entrance, melting the grass around it.Yuchen stood before the gates, his new Spell-Weaver’s Carapace clicking as he adjusted his gauntlets. He had a bandolier of Vanguard Draughts strapped to his chest and his magically conductive longsword drawn.“You are pushing it, Yuchen,” Taion’s voice lacked its usual lazy sarcasm. The chibi administrator floated down, his glowing eyes narrowed in genuine warning. “I mean it. Your combined class levels might make you a powerhouse in the outer woods, but this is a B-Rank zone. The Dungeon Boss here is a Level 30 Corrupted Arachne. It has poison that ignores physical mitigation. If you go in there alone, you will die.”“Risk and reward, Taion,” Yuchen replied coldly, checking the edge of his blade. “I’m out of capital. The Arachne’s silk glands are

“Explain it to me again, Vane,” Valerius hissed, his voice dangerously low. “Explain how my elite Shadow Guard, three Level 40 Assassins equipped with Wyvern venom daggers simply ceased to exist.”Vane, the High Lord’s spymaster, swallowed hard. He kept his eyes locked on the floor, sweat beading on his forehead beneath his dark hood.“My Lord, we tracked their final mana signatures to the Whispering Woods, exactly where the target, Yuchen, had directed them,” Vane reported, his voice trembling. “But when our sweepers arrived… there were no bodies. There was no sign of a struggle. There was only a massive, perfectly spherical crater radiating divine energy.”Valerius slammed his fist down, cracking the desk. “Divine energy?! We sent them to kill a Level 1 Merchant who got lucky in an alleyway! Who did this? Did the boy hire a Platinum-ranked Paladin as a bodyguard?”“No, My Lord. It’s worse,” Vane said, pulling a glowing scrying crystal from his robes. He placed it on the desk. “We fo

The capital city was a dangerous place, but Yuchen treated it like his own personal playground. For the past week, the High Lord’s spies had been crawling all over the city, trying to figure out who Yuchen really was. But Yuchen was always two steps ahead. He didn't fight them. He just confused them.Sitting in the corner of a crowded tavern, Yuchen handed a small bag of copper coins to a beggar."Make sure you say it loudly," Yuchen whispered. "Say you saw the silver-haired swordsman, Tyron Stone, holding a map to the High Lord’s secret vault."The beggar nodded and ran out into the streets. Ten minutes later, Yuchen watched through the tavern window as three of the High Lord’s elite scouts sprinted out of the city gates, completely ignoring Yuchen's shop to go chase Tyron again."Information warfare is so cheap," Yuchen smiled, taking a sip of his fruit juice. "Why fight an enemy when you can just point them at the main character?"Taion appeared on the table, looking annoyed. "You

THE NEXT WEEKThe Adventurer’s Guild Tournament was the biggest event of the year. Banners in bright red and gold hung from every building in the capital city. For most people, this was a chance to prove their strength. It was a clear path to fame, wealth, and joining the High Lord’s royal guard.Yuchen sat in the living room of his new mansion, staring at the golden tournament flyer on his table. He took a sip of his tea, a serious look on his face."You have got to be joking," Taion said. The chibi system administrator floated out of the wall, crossing his tiny arms. "You? The guy who spent the last week forcing bullies to mine rocks for you? You are joining a combat tournament?""Yes," Yuchen said flatly."Why?!" Taion threw his hands in the air. "You hate fighting fair! You hate drawing attention! And worst of all, you hate doing things that don't pay you directly! The prize money for first place is only five hundred gold coins. You make that in two days selling potions!""I don't
CHAPTER 19
The waiting room beneath the Grand Arena smelled like cheap sweat, iron, and nervous energy. Dozens of fighters were packed into the damp stone hallway, sharpening weapons and stretching their muscles. Yuchen sat on a wooden bench in the corner, calmly wiping down his boots. He wore his dark Spell-Weaver’s armor, but he had thrown a simple brown merchant’s cloak over it to hide the expensive magical runes. "Hey. Shopkeeper." A massive shadow fell over Yuchen. He looked up. Standing in front of him were three heavily scarred adventurers. The one in the middle, a bald man holding a giant spiked mace, was glaring at him. "Did you take a wrong turn looking for the market?" the bald man sneered. "I'm right where I need to be," Yuchen said, going back to cleaning his boots. The other two fighters laughed loudly. "Look at him," one of them pointed. "He's that lucky businessman everyone is talking about. The guy who bought a mansion in the inner ring selling overpriced health potions."
CHAPTER 20
The second round of the tournament began the next afternoon. The sun beat down on the Grand Arena, but the heat of the crowd was much worse. They were angry. They were loud. And they all wanted to see the rich shopkeeper bleed.Yuchen stood in the dark tunnel, listening to the crowd chant his opponent's name."Varo! Varo! Varo!"Taion floated next to Yuchen, looking at the bright arena entrance. "They really hate you," the chibi administrator said. "They think you ruined the honor of the tournament yesterday.""Honor doesn't pay the rent, Taion," Yuchen said, checking the straps on his belt. He adjusted the glass vials hidden under his simple brown cloak. "Honor is a luxury for people who don't have to worry about surviving.""Well, your opponent today is a Level 24 Spearman," Taion warned. "His name is Varo. He is fast. Very fast. You won't be able to hit him with a heavy potion like you did with the big brawler. If you throw a bottle at him, he will just dodge it or smash it with hi
