CHAPTER FIFTY-ONE The rest of the crew focused all their attention on the map after Dwayne had spoken, and after they had looked at the spot he pointed to, several thoughts began to run through their minds. “How are we supposed to get to that point, Dwayne? It looks like we are really far from that point.” Patrick said with a low tone, expressing his deep concern and uncertainty. “You are absolutely correct, Patrick. But the fact that we are very far from getting to the map doesn’t mean we should be afraid of the distance it would take. I believe if we are able to stick together, we will pull through.” “What if there are monsters on the way? You saw what happened to Wade, I don’t want that for myself.” Heather Heather said with a low tone, and Seth nodded in alignment to what she said, afraid of not being able to accomplish this dreams. Everyone in the group except Patrick had personal reasons for wanting to embark on that journey. But for Dave, it was more like an adventure, and

CHAPTER FIFTY-TWO Seth was already certain that Heather was not going to help, and as soon as she walked away, he sighed heavily and looked at Borius who was still standing in front of her. “Let me have that one.” Borius slowly grabbed one of the heavy bags from Seth, making his burden lighter, and he sighed in relief. “Thank you.” Seth said to Borius who left him at once and started walking toward the direction others had gone with his weapon in one hand and the heavy brown bag in the other hand. “Come on, Seth. There could be deadly monsters in this place!” Borius said without looking at the Centaur who was startled by his words and quickly turned around nervously as though there was something coming after him. “Wait for me! Wait for me! I am coming!” Seth hurriedly went after Borius who didn’t bother to turn around or slow down even though he heard the sound of his limbs galloping toward him. “Don’t do that! Don’t do that again!” Seth pleaded with Borius who chuckled after he

CHAPTER FIFTY-THREE “This is not the time, Dwayne. I need you to listen to me. Guys?” Patrick turned to look at the rest of the group, and it was only Seth and Lucy who agreed to what he suggested. The three elves seemed to neglect the fact that the environment where they were walking was strange, and even the air seemed to be mixed with some kind of tension that was unexplainable. “Humans, always looking for an excuse to quit an important mission. Little wonder not many of you have been elevated to be among the council members in the city.” Heather said with a voice laced with so much disdain while she looked at Patrick who ignored her and turned to look at Borius, hoping that he was going to be more reasonable than his sister. “I am sorry, Patrick. But we need to continue moving. There is no time, and I would not want to lose my chances of laying my hands on all the beautiful treasures in the caves.” Borius said to Patrick who sighed in disappointment. It was obvious that the e

CHAPTER FIFTY-FOUR The rest of the crew joined him almost immediately, spreading themselves across different corners of the Greenland in order to escape from the creatures that were swooping in on them from the sky. “I knew it! I shouldn't have come to this adventure! This was a mistake!” Seth cried out aloud as he galloped from one point to another, unable to make up his mind about the actual direction he was to run. Sooner than they expected, the creatures got really closer, and from the sight Patrick made when he looked up in the sky, there were about fifteen of those blood-thirsty huge creatures ready to devour them. “They are getting closer! What do we do? What do we do?” Heather asked anxiously, looking up at the sky, and unable to make a decision about the the particular direction she was supposed to run to. “I think we should hide behind the trees! Everyone, the trees! Go for the trees!” Patrick said loudly, running toward one of the huge trees, and almost immediately, th

CHAPTER FIFTY-FIVE “A little help here! Borius!” Heather called out to her brother as soon as she saw that there were over ten other creatures swooping toward her, and making loud screeches that sounded like battle cries. She fixed another arrow to her bow after pulling it out from her quiver, and just when she was about to shoot at one of the creatures, one of them grabbed her from behind with its sharp claws, and carried her toward the sky. “Let me go! Let me go! Borius! Borius!” She carried out while she struggled to hold onto her weapons which almost fell from her hand. “Hang on, Heather!” Borius said as soon as he ran out from his hiding place behind one of the trees, and instantly, he twisted the ring attached to his spear, making it glow brightly before he started to run toward the direction the creature was flying while still holding onto his sister whose legs were dangling in the air. “Hurry! Hurry, Borius! Hurry up!” “I am coming!” Borius increased the speed of his leg

CHAPTER FIFTY-SIX The one Borius had pierced with his spear was on the ground whimpering in pain while the other one whose eye was pierced managed to see with the other eye and was getting ready to attack Heather for the second time in order to seek revenge. Heather looked at the creatures, and instantly she began to regret the decision she made to co“We shouldn’t have come to this dimension, Borius! I knew that this was a bad idea!” “Well, we are here already. Maybe you can try focusing on the best action to take so that we can leave this place alive rather than regretting the decision you have already taken!”Borius retorted while holding onto his spear firmly his eyes staring keenly at the creature. Meanwhile, Patrick remained hidden behind the tree alongside Seth who couldn't even look to see what was going on as he continued panting while he struggled to catch his breath. Everything looked like it wasn’t going to get worse until Patrick looked ahead to see that one of the s

CHAPTER FIFTY-SEVEN “Stay away! This dagger is really sharp! My father gave it to me! Stay away from me! I will stab you with it!” Lucy attempted severally to pierce the dagger into the skin of the screecher, but she missed severally while the creature looked for the perfect opportunity to claw her. Eventually, the creature kicked away her dagger effortlessly, and before she could even look at the ground to know where it had fallen, she saw the creature’s claws coming toward her face, and she impulsively fell to the ground while she attempted to get away from it.“Patrick! Help! Help me!” She increased the intensity of her panting while she struggled to move away from the creature that growled while it prepared to attack her. “Hey! Hey! Stay away from her! Stay away from her!” Patrick shouted at the creature while he continued to run toward it with full force. A few seconds later, he pulled out his energy blade and got ready to attack the screecher which turned to look at him, and

CHAPTER FIFTY-EIGHT “Patrick! Patrick!” Lucy shouted in fright, and then she pushed herself up with both hands while she struggled with the panic that engulfed her. Watching Patrick struggling with the creature that grabbed him from the ground, she felt a sudden guilt grip her, and she felt she was never going to be able to live with the guilt if anything happened to him. “Drop him! Drop him!” She started running toward the creature that had Patrick, completely ignoring the rest that was screeching at her from the moment she started running toward one of them with her dagger tightly gripped in her right hand. “Drop him! Let him go, you ugly fat-faced monster!” Lucy continued to go after the creature that tightly held onto Patrick, but she had only taken a few more steps when one of the other screechers decided to attack her for trying to go after one of them. It growled at Lucy, and then it started to go after her, causing her to freeze instantly, while she thought of the best ac

CHAPTER FIFTY-NINE The other two fell on their backs, and because one of them had been injured by Patrick’s blade, it remained on the ground, whimpering to the pain it felt from the impact. Quickly, Patrick picked up his blade from the floor and dashed toward one of the creatures that was still conscious and ready to attack him again, and stabbed it in its chest just before it could make any more attempt to come at him again. It screeched in severe pain, and then it died instantly while Patrick sat on the ground forcefully, panting from the fatigue he felt all over him. “Get away from me! Let me go!” Lucy’s voice resonated from a distance, causing Patrick to lift his head toward the direction he heard her voice from. “Lucy…” He said in a whisper, looking at Lucy, who was struggling to free herself from the tight grip of the creature that had gotten a hold of her long blonde hair and almost pulled her down forcefully. “Patrick! Patrick! Help! My hair!” Patrick Patrick dragged o

CHAPTER SIXTY The screecher turned backward to look at Patrick, who was still holding onto its tail, and to get him away from its body, it flew toward one of the trees, hoping to bash his head against the dry body of the huge tree. Patrick looked ahead as soon as he saw that the screecher had increased its speed, and when he saw that the creature was heading for a tree in an attempt to crash him against it, he thought of a way to get away from the situation that could really hurt him or even end his life. For the third time, he stabbed the creature with his energy blade, but the determined creature only screeched in pain and continued holding onto him with its tight grip, moving higher and higher without any plans to change direction. Seeing that his plan of causing the creature to let go of Lucy wasn’t working out, Patrick decided to try another way of getting away from the impending peril that was getting closer and closer to him. He looked downward, hoping to let go of the tai
