CHAPTER SIXTY-ONE While the dog was still in the air, Rufus held it on the neck with both hands, tightening his grip while the dog barked loudly, struggling to free himself from Rufus’s tight grasp all to no avail. “Whoa!” Noah gasped at the sight in front of him, staring at the sight of Rufus holding onto the dog with so much ease. His mouth was agape, and he almost let go of the things he was holding onto with both hands. “Stay calm! Stay calm! Stop struggling, or I will make you!” Rufus warned the dog, but it refused to listen, still barking and growling while it continued struggling in an attempt to free itself from Rufus’s tight grip. Its partner stood still, barking at Rufus, probably telling him to let go of it, but it couldn’t do anything as it was afraid of meeting the same fate. “You just don’t want to listen!” Rufus grunted in a little frustration, and reacting to the anger that engulfed him, he lowered the dog at once and pressed it really hard on the ground while it

CHAPTER SIXTY-TWORufus woke up the next morning to see Cyra sitting next to him on the bed while she kept her eyes on him, smiling pleasantly. “Good morning, Rufus. I am sure you had a good rest.”“I had the weirdest dream ever.” Rufus groaned loudly, stretching his arms while he yawned loudly, causing Cyra to lean backward, looking at him with a smirk on her face. “Tell me about this dream of yours, Rufus. Did you see anyone?” Cyra asked while Rufus uncovered himself with the duvet and climbed down the bed while he struggled to keep his eyes open. “What are you doing here so early, Cyra? Don’t you have anything to do in the infinite forest?”“Something like what?” Cyra asked at once, looking at Rufus, who cleared his throat before giving her a response. “I don’t know! Maybe you can take care of the creatures there, tend to the ones who are sick, and even help them build whatever has been destroyed.” Rufus yawned again, but not as loud as he did earlier, while Cyra chuckled softl

CHAPTER SIXTY-THREE Rufus stared at the book in his hands for a few seconds, and when he eventually resolved to follow his instincts, he closed his eyes and let out a heavy sigh before following the direction of the sensation that engulfed him a few seconds later. “Go on, Rufus. Let the book show you how to unlock it; look out for the location of the key.” Cyra said calmly, smiling while she continued staring at Rufus, who had a neutral expression on his face until after a few seconds, when a smile appeared on his face. Cyra chuckled instantly the moment she saw the look on his face, nodding with so much satisfaction. “I think I've got it, Cyra!” Rufus said excitedly as soon as he opened his eyes, just before he looked at the book closely, pushing it upward to his face. “I am sure you do, Rufus. Well-done.” Cyra chuckled again, looking at Rufus, who sighed heavily just before taking another glance at the book, which he dropped back on the bed. “What now?” He said to Cyra the mo

CHAPTER SIXTY-FOUR Rebecca didn’t seem happy to see the Butler, but even though she showed it on her face, the middle -aged man couldn’t care less, as he didn’t even take note of the look on her face while he concentrated on Rufus, who turned to look at him as soon as he heard his voice. “Hello, Damian. I had a wonderful night. What about you?”“I did too, thank you, Lord Rufus.” Damian nodded with a smile on his face just before he stole a glance at Rebecca, whom he smirked at. “Miss West? I see that you took the liberty to make breakfast for Lord Rufus. I didn’t know it was also part of your job description to be his chef.” Rebecca was speechless at that moment; she tried to look at the Butler, but the expression she saw on his face was enough to make her withdraw her gaze at once. Left with no choice, she turned to look at Rufus, who was speechless, expecting him to say something, but it seemed like he was in support of whatever the butler was doing. “I will just take this b

CHAPTER SIXTY-FIVE Andy realized that he didn’t have any other choice but to do as Rufus instructed. He turned on the ignition of the car and drove out of the premises at an increasing speed. As he drove to the familiar neighborhood, Andy looked around, nervous about the nature of his neighborhood. “We are here, Lord Rufus,” Andy announced as soon as he got to the exact location Rufus spoke about, while he turned around to look at him without turning off the ignition of the car. “Already?” Rufus said calmly, looking through the windows of the car until he was able to see the tavern located by the right corner of the street. Andy was surprised that Rufus didn’t know where he was going; he looked at him for a few seconds before he nodded in response. “Alright. You wait right here; I will be back as soon as I can.” Rufus grabbed the handle of the door at once, opened the door, and walked out before he slammed the door instantly. “Do you want me to come with you, Lord Rufus? You c

CHAPTER SIXTY-SIX Rufus continued to stare at the beautiful lady for a while, unable to resist the urge to admire her. Everything about her made him want to know more about her: her smile, great beauty, and especially her good sense of humor. “It’s really nice to meet you, Serah. I wonder what a pretty girl like you is doing in a place like this.” Rufus looked around the tavern, expressing his displeasure. “Well, not everyone is fortunate enough to come from a rich family like you. I am sure you have someone who cooks for you.” Serah retorted at once, cleaning the inside of one of the glasses with the white napkin she grabbed from the counter below her. “And you can tell this by merely looking at me?” Lim asked with a voice a little above a whisper, looking at Serah, who slowly lifted her face from the glass she was carefully holding onto and nodded in response.“Am I wrong? Don’t you have someone who cooks for you?” Serah asked confidently, but Rufus was unable to give her a res

CHAPTER SIXTY-SEVEN Surprisingly, and as opposed to what Serah thought, Rufus was very calm even when Mr. Rodri moved the dagger close to his face. Rufus didn’t bother to flinch even though he was wary of the man with a golden tooth. “Who are you?” Mr. Rodri was forced to ask when he sensed the aura that was emitting from Rufus, who stood his ground, resisting every form of intimidation from him.“My name is Rufus, Rufus Garfield,” Rufus said in a low tone while his hands remained in the air. “Rufus?” Mr. Rodri said in a whisper, looking at Rufus while he tried to see if his face was going to be familiar, just like his name. “Yes, Mr. Rodri. My name is Rufus, and I believe that you have something that I desperately need.” Rufus said with a nod, and then he waited for a few seconds just to be sure the middle-aged man was not going to attack before he lowered his hands and sighed heavily. “I knew it! I knew that the prophecies were true! I knew that you were going to come someday!

CHAPTER SIXTY-EIGHT Mr. Rodri waited for a few seconds after Rufus asked him the question about the prophecy. From the look on his face, it was obvious that he had a lot to say, but he was looking for the best way to say it. He sighed heavily, and then he walked toward a corner of the storeroom where he stood, waiting for Rufus, who joined him at once. “My family belongs to a line of Druids, a group of ancient teachers, magicians, and priests who believe in the Divine. We have existed for centuries, and have lived discreetly on Earth out of the knowledge of ordinary Humans who are not gifted just like myself.” Rufus couldn’t help but listen attentively to everything the middle-aged man was saying. At that moment, he realized that there were many other things that he didn’t know about, and his curiosity lingered. Mr. Rodri paused for a few seconds, and when he was certain that the young man standing in front of him was really paying attention, he cleared his throat and continued.

CHAPTER SIXTY-NINE Andy drove the car back to the castle, and as soon as he parked in front of the huge mansion, Rufus alighted from the car and walked into the building after putting the black box into his pocket to avoid any form of inquisition. As he ascended the stairs, the words he heard from Mr. Rodri kept on resounding in his ears, and he tried to figure out what he meant by a familiar enemy. “Is Lord Vikram related to me in any way?” He whispered only to himself, and when he was done with the last step of the staircase, he stood still, staring at space while he continued going through the ideas that crept into his mind.He had almost forgotten that he was meant to do something when he quickly snapped out of his long thought and sighed heavily. “Those were really strange words.” He said just before he continued walking to his chambers with slow but steady steps. The moment he shut the door behind him, he walked to the cabinet beside his bed and then pulled out the drawer.
Chapter 70
CHAPTER SEVENTY Rufus looked at Cyra for a few seconds without saying a word, but several thoughts ran through his mind amidst the silence in the room. “What is it, Rufus? What is going on in your mind, Warlord?”“The message says only the blood of an heir can be able to make the words visible. How am I supposed to get the blood of an heir?”“You are an heir, Rufus. The reincarnation of Lord Clovis himself, the first and most powerful heir. The message is clear, Rufus…” Cyra nodded to affirm her words, looking at Rufus with a bright smile on her face.“My blood…” Rufus looked at the book for a few seconds, and when he had managed to resolve the conflict within him, he sighed heavily and grabbed the book before placing it back on the bed. He opened the book to the first page of the book while Cyra took two steps forward with her eyes focused on the book on the bed. Slowly, he pulled out the dagger from his pants, and then he lifted his left palm to his face for a few seconds, tryi
