Chapter 71
CHAPTER SEVENTY-ONE Rufus thought about the words he heard from Cyra for a few seconds, and then he sighed heavily before returning his eyes to the book. He looked at the pictures of the elementals for a while before he flipped to the next page. Just like Cyra explained, it was explained that the green stone that he wielded was the Master stone and the strongest link to the other stones, which could be able to summon the other stones if they were close by. “I am going to leave you to study as much as you can, Rufus. Remember, mastering the art of perfection should be your priority. Every other thing will follow eventually.” Cyra said calmly, and before Rufus could even think of a response to give to her, she vanished. “You didn’t even wait to hear what I wanted to say,” Rufus said in a whisper, looking at the spot where Cyra was standing as though she was still there. He sighed heavily just before he returned his eyes to the book and carried it up with both hands to the table by

CHAPTER SEVENTY-TWO Rufus thought about the words he heard from the Butler while he struggled with the hunger that was inside him. The fact that he was already ready to eat breakfast before Damian came with the message made him grunt slightly while he tried to maintain a smile on his face. “Who could that be?” He said in a whisper just before he pushed the chair backward and walked toward the butler, who turned around slowly and started walking toward the living room. Rufus was still wondering who the guest was when his eyes caught sight of the last person he expected to be in his mansion.“Greetings, Lord Rufus.” Silas Prescott greeted Rufus, and then he started walking toward Rufus, who stood still with his brows lifted to form a furrow. “Mr. Prescott? I wasn’t expecting to see you.” “Well, I didn’t expect myself to be here this morning. But I realized that I needed to be here.” Silas stood in front of Rufus and offered him a handshake. “I see. Well, you are here; we might as

CHAPTER SEVENTY-THREE Silas paused for a while just to make sure that Rufus was listening to him before he continued with so much enthusiasm written all over his face. At that moment, Rufus was able to see a desperate man who could do anything just to amass great wealth and power, but he wasn’t surprised at all, as he was expecting him to be that way. “We can take advantage of the war going on in some of the countries in Europe and Asia; we can even take advantage of the terrorism in most parts of Africa. Imagine the great amount of power we would have if we united the money we have and my connections; not even the government of the country or even the military will be able to stop us.”The moment Silas was done talking, he waited to hear what Rufus was going to say, and even though he was silent for a while, he didn’t mind as he was hopeful that he was going to love his business idea. Rufus forced a smile on his face while he looked at Silas, who was still waiting to hear a resp

CHAPTER SEVENTY-FOUR The next morning, as early as the first flicker of dawn, Rufus was up on his feet, standing tall in front of his mirror with a bright smile on his face. The joy that radiated inside him was unexplainable, and he tried everything he could to figure out the reason why he was happy. “A penny for your thoughts?” Cyra appeared behind him, putting on a grey jumpsuit with a helmet on her head. Rufus was surprised at her dressing when he saw her reflection in the mirror, and he was forced to turn around instantly to look at her. “What is that? What are you wearing?”“Oh, you mean this? You like?” Cyra gestured to her outfit, looking at Rufus with a bright smile on her face. “Hell, no! You look like a road worker, Cyra!” “Well, I saw some men by the roadside putting this on, and I decided to try it out. I think I like the way it feels on my body. It’s so free and light.” Cyra lifted her right leg, and that was when Lim realized that she also had black rubber boots on

CHAPTER SEVENTY-FIVE As soon as Rufus heard the knock on the door, he turned to look at Cyra, but she disappeared at once, leaving him alone with the ostrich, which started whistling while it continued walking around the room. “Hey? Can you be quiet? Shhh!” Rufus placed his index finger above his lips while he continued looking at the ostrich. The nervousness that engulfed him made perspiration run down his body as he thought of what to do. A few seconds later, the knock came back; this time, it was louder than the previous one, and Rufus gestured his hands toward the ostrich to turn it back into a vase, but it continued moving around. “Can you stay in one place? Stop moving around!” Rufus stole a glance at the door when he heard the knock for the third time. Realizing that he was too distracted and nervous to make use of his powers, he went after the ostrich and led it into his bedroom before he shut the door and rested his back against it. “Quiet, you creature! Quiet!” He said

CHAPTER SEVENTY-SIX Clad in one of the luxurious outfits he found in the wardrobe, Rufus walked down to the dining hall with Noah’s backpack in his hand. He quickly had breakfast and then walked out of the building, only to see Rebecca walking toward him with a black tablet in her hands. “Miss West? I don’t remember asking you to come today.” “Good morning, Lord Rufus.” Rebecca greeted Rufus while she took a few steps closer to him just before she stopped with a smile on her face. She remained silent afterward, but Rufus waited patiently for her to explain the reason why she was in the Castle that morning. “You still haven’t said anything, Miss West,” Rufus said impatiently, and then he took a glance at the time on his wristwatch, realizing that he was almost late for school. A few seconds later, Andy appeared and stood in front of one of the black cars parked next to Rufus. He saw that Rufus was standing with his Personal Assistant, and decided to wait patiently. “I have a f

CHAPTER SEVENTY-SEVEN Rufus got out of the car with Noah’s backpack in his hands, and as soon as he shut the door behind him, he saw Julius’s Lamborghini driving toward the parking lot, and he decided to remain where he was standing without saying a word. Most of the students in the school had gone in for their lectures, and the few who were still around the vicinity were either on their way to their various classrooms or were busy with one thing or the other. Rufus checked the time on his wristwatch and realized that he still had about fifteen minutes till the time for the first lecture. “That’s more than enough time.” He nodded with a smirk on his face just before he lowered his right hand and placed the backpack very close to him on the ground before he folded his arms, patiently waiting for the Lamborghini to park. “Is that not that punk? Why the hell is he standing there?” Dan said from the backseat, looking at Rufus with so much annoyance all over him. His words got to Mia

CHAPTER SEVENTY-EIGHT Dan was dumbfounded as well while he stared at Rufus with so much shock in his eyes, not sure if holding him was a really good idea. “Is that the best you’ve got? I said it, Julius. You do punch like a girl, or even a chicken. I gave you a lot of credit; you punch like a chicken.” Rufus chuckled loudly, looking at Julius, who was pissed off intensely by his words. “You think I punch like a chicken? Just hold on, I will show you that I don’t punch like a chicken!” Julius rolled his right arm to gather momentum, and when he was satisfied, he clenched his fist again and released another punch on Rufus’s face, making sure that he did it with all his energy. Instead of hurting Rufus just like Julius intended, his knuckles cracked, and the severe pain he got from the impact made him grunt. Certainly, his fist was dislocated, and he felt the pain down to his shoulder, causing him to take two steps backward while Rufus sniggered at him. “Poor Julius! Are you hurt

CHAPTER SEVENTY-NINE Mia moved closer to Julius, and when she saw that Julius was almost out of breath as his eyes rolled backward, she gasped. “Just let him go! There is no way he is going to confess with the way you are holding him! I beg you!” Mia pleaded with a shaky voice, almost kneeling while she struggled with the fright that engulfed her. “Fine! I will listen to you!” Rufus agreed to do what Mia said, even though he felt so much anger each time he looked at her. He returned his gaze to Julius, whose mouth was wide open, and then he sighed softly. “Make sure you tell me what I want to hear, or the next one will lead to your death!” Rufus let go of Julius, who fell to the ground at once, making a loud thud while he gasped for air, breathing frantically in an attempt to regain full consciousness. “Julius? Are you okay? Can you hear me?” Mia said anxiously while she moved toward Julius, knelt beside him, and grabbed him by his shoulders. Julius coughed severally, and when

CHAPTER EIGHTY Julius was taken to the school clinic alongside Dan to have their injuries treated, and when they were attended to, they moved to the Dean’s office alongside Mia, who reluctantly followed them. Meanwhile, Rufus was seated in the classroom with no one seated by his side. All the students in the classroom were listening to what the professor standing in front of the class was saying when one of the professors in charge of discipline walked into the room with a worrisome expression on her face. Seeing her was enough to cause a little tension in the minds of the students, especially those who had done one or two things that could get them punished. She was never a bearer of good news. Each time she came into a classroom, especially whenever she didn’t have any lectures with them, she always came to summon a student who may have defaulted in one way or the other. Without being told, Rufus knew the reason why she was there, and he chuckled softly while some of the studen
