CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO Noah was speechless, but he was also glad at the same time. No one had ever chosen to stay with him for any reason, and he couldn’t stop smiling at Julius who drank from the can of milkshake and smacked his lips at once. “This tastes really nice, Noah. I love it!”“I am glad you like it.” Noah chuckled excitedly, and then he grabbed his sausage rolls, and took a bite that gave him a mouthful. He munched until he crushed the food entirely inside his mouth, and then he diluted it with his own milkshake. “Why did you transfer to this college? Were you in another city?” Noah broke the few seconds of silence that had lingered between them for almost a minute. He was very curious to know more about Julius who slowly dropped the can of milkshake on the table, and sighed softly. “Well, I was once in this city, but I went away for a while, and returned home recently. I decided to come here to finish my senior year.” “And you chose Hilton’s college?” Noah asked with a l

CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE Julius lifted his brows the moment he heard the words from Noah who slowly returned his gaze to him after making sure that no one was eavesdropping on them. “A secret library?”“Yes. A secret library, Diego.” Noah nodded to affirm his words, and after shielding his mouth with his right hand, he continued. “I think it was built in the past, way before this Combat society became existent. The books there are so old but they contain so many secrets from the past and even predictions about the past. There are books on teleportation, time-traveling, space, reincarnation, and even magic.” Noah shook his head in excitement, staring at Julius who struggled not to express the frenzy that lingered in his mind, ready to let itself out. “Sometimes, I hear voices when I am inside the library, but no one ever shows up. I was thinking that it could be some of the cadets in this college, but no one seems to know anything about it. I am sure that the Combat society would have

CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR Slowly, Julius walked toward the Dean who stood patiently waiting for him to get very close before he turned around and headed to his office with Julius following him behind. “Mr. Cassius? Is everything okay?”“Just come with me to my office, Me. Campbell. We need to have a word.” Graham said without turning to look at Julius while he climbed up the stairs that led to his office. He walked into the room as soon as he unlocked the door, headed to his desk, and sat down on his seat. “Please, have a seat, Mr. Campbell.” Graham gestured to Julius who refused to sit even after he had glanced at the seat. “Thank you, but I would prefer to stand.” Julius folded his arms while he waited to hear what the Dean was going to say. He already knew the reason why he summoned him, and had already thought of a suitable response to give to him. From the look on the Dean’s face, it was certain that he was a bit nervous to speak to Julius who wasn’t like the other average cadets

CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE Julius descended the stairs and made his way toward the classroom block with so much anger boiling inside him. “That coward! He calls me a drug dealer and a drunkard! I should deal with them when the time is right, all of them!”“Relax, Diego. Do not forget what lies ahead of you. All of these are distractions that can set you back from your path.”“Vera? You are still here.”“Of course, Diego. I am always here with you until my time is over.” Vera responded at once while Julius walked into the classroom block and sauntered through the hallway that led to one of the laboratories in the building. “Well, I thought you had left me. You suddenly became silent and refused to give me an answer to the question I asked.” “Focus, Warlord. You still have the ancient book to find, you still have a lot to learn.” Vera caused Julius to go into a period of thinking while he continued walking slowly toward the laboratory. “How long is this supposed to take? How long am I sup

CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX Circe turned to look at her maidens one after the other, and with a single motion of her hands, she instructed them to go after Julius. “Grab him since he likes it the violent way,” Circe commanded with a smirk on her face, and the maidens rushed toward Julius with signs that showed that they were waiting for that moment. “Okay, ladies, calm down. I am sure we can sort this out peacefully. No one needs to be violent.” Julius smiled at the maidens who were getting closer to him, but they refused to reciprocate as they glared at him, ready to make use of the weapons they wielded. Julius continued to move backward while Circe stood at a spot with her arms akimbo, looking at the maidens who increased the pace of the steps while they went after Julius. “This is really gonna be difficult,” Julius whispered only to his hearing while taking two several steps backward, wary of the two angry ladies in front of him. He looked at the weapons they had in their hands, and h

CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN Julius was forced to stop while Circe started to walk toward him with slow but steady steps. “I almost forgot about you.” Julius sighed softly even though he got no relief from it. “I underestimated you, mortal,” Circe said with a smirk on her face, she turned toward the maidens who were still grunting in pain, and scoffed at them before returning her gaze to Julius. At that moment, she became a bit wary of him and was cautious of not being attacked by him as she saw that he wielded more powers than she had imagined. “You may have been able to defeat my maidens, Diego. But I will be back for you when the time is right. Draevyn may have bestowed his powers on you, but that doesn’t mean that you will be as half as the conqueror he was.” “You may be right, Circe. But that doesn’t mean that I will give up. You can try as much as you want, but I will never go back to your island with you.” Julius stood on his unshaken resolve, looking at the Enchantress who chuck

CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT The rest of the college activities went on as usual, with everyone moving from one classroom to another and attending events ranging from sports training to rehearsals. Wexler had been so embarrassed by all the things that took place in the Combat Society that he had to go home, abandoning his friends who searched all over for him without seeing him anywhere in the Combat Society. By the end of all the activities Julius had in Combat Society, he headed to the parking lot where Andy was waiting for him beside the car. “Lord Diego…” The Chauffeur bowed slowly. “Hello, Andy. I hope I didn’t keep you waiting for so long.” “Not at all, Lord Diego.” Andy grabbed the handle of the back door and opened it slowly, waiting for Julius to get in before he shut it slowly. “Lord Diego?” Andy looked at Julius through the rearview mirror while he held onto the steering wheel with both hands. “Yes, Andy? Is there a problem?” “Mr. Dominic instructed that I take you to the c

CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE Julius eventually pushed himself up from the bed and headed to the bathroom to have a quick shower before putting on the gray suit, which fit him perfectly.“She was right.” Julius smiled while he admired his outfit, alongside the brown Clark shoes which he got from the wardrobe. Certain that he looked like a young CEO, Julius nodded in satisfaction, adjusted his jacket, and walked out of his Chambers, and headed for the exit of the Castle. “Lord Diego? You are back.” A female voice called out to him while he was still in the hall, trying to get to the exit doors in front of him. Monica hurried toward Julius, who turned around to look at her as soon as she called out to him. “Hello, Monica. It’s you…” “Welcome, Lord Diego. It appears that you are on your way out.” “Oh yes, Monica. I have an important meeting to attend.” “But you just got back from college. You must be really exhausted and famished. I already asked Gladys to prepare something really nice for

CHAPTER THIRTYJulius kept his eyes on the lady who gave him a coy smile while she stood by the right-hand side of Dominic, who was getting ready to make a formal introduction.“Lord Diego? This is Mr. Nick Raven. Nick here is the Manager of your family’s company; he has been the one managing things for over ten years…” Dominic said to Julius, who nodded in response, and then he turned to look at Nick with a smile on his face. “Nick? This is Lord Diego Reid, the heir to the Reid conglomerate.” “It’s such a pleasure finally meeting you, Lord Diego. I was hopeful that this day was going to come.” Nick extended his hands for a handshake while Julius grabbed them slowly and shook them instantly. Nick’s face showed great gladness that he had set his eyes on Julius, who was still trying to grasp meaning from everything that was happening so fast. Next, Dominic turned to look at the young lady who was eager to meet with Julius, who wasn’t aware that she was still staring at him without l

CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE Julius stepped into the Conference hall a few seconds after Dominic had gone in, his eyes went straight to look at the four men who were seated at the two corners of the long wooden table in the middle of the hall, two at both sides. They were clad in black suits and had some files lined up in front of them while they whispered some inaudible words amongst themselves. Three of the men were in their middle age, while the one who was seated in the first seat by the left looked very much older than the rest; his face showed signs of retirement, as the wrinkles lined up on his forehead bore witness to the fact that he was supposed to be taking an eternal break. The moment the four men dressed in black suits saw Julius walking into the Conference Hall, they stood up slowly to show their homage, while the oldest man among them seemed a bit reluctant to do what the others did. From his countenance, it was visible that he was forcing a smile on his face even though he
