CHAPTER ONE: THE BOY NOBODY WANTED
The first thing Kelvin Katz learned about silence was that it could hurt more than shouting. Every morning at exactly 6:15, his alarm buzzed once before he reached over and switched it off. He never let it ring twice. If it did, someone downstairs would complain. He sat on the edge of his bed for a moment, staring at the faded baseball poster hanging above his desk. It had been there since he was nine. His father had put it up one Saturday afternoon after promising they would go to a Rockies game together. They never did. Three weeks later, his father died in a highway accident. Eight years had passed since then. Sometimes Kelvin could still remember the sound of his father's laugh. Other times, all he could remember was the funeral. He rubbed his face and stood. The floorboards creaked beneath his feet. "So much for being quiet," he muttered. His bedroom was the smallest room in the house, tucked away beside the attic. The walls were bare except for the old post
CHAPTER TWO: THE FIRST CRACK
The call had ended. But Director Hayes didn't lower the phone immediately. His eyes remained fixed on the Sullivan house as children from the neighborhood began walking toward the nearby bus stop, backpacks bouncing against their shoulders. To everyone else, Cedar Ridge looked like another peaceful American town waking up for another ordinary Tuesday. Hayes knew better. He had watched towns like this before. Places where ordinary mornings ended with impossible tragedies. He slipped the phone into his coat pocket. "Keep watching," he said to the driver. "What are we waiting for?" the younger agent asked. Hayes' expression never changed. "The first crack." --- Inside the Sullivan house, breakfast continued under a silence so heavy it almost had weight. Kelvin couldn't stop looking at the silver pendant resting against Mark Sullivan's chest. How had it gotten there? He remembered sliding it beneath his pillow before falling asleep. He remembered touching i
CHAPTER THREE: THE MEN AT THE DOOR
The knocking came again. Three slow knocks. Not loud. Not violent. Confident. As though whoever stood outside already knew the door would eventually open. No one in the kitchen moved. Rain battered the windows while the broken lightbulbs continued to crackle on the floor. Kelvin could hear Emma crying upstairs. Liam called out again. "Mom?" Sarah shut her eyes for one brief second. When she opened them, the fear in her face had become determination. She looked directly at Kelvin. "Go upstairs." "What?" "Now." "I'm not leaving you." "Kelvin." Her voice was firmer this time. "Take Emma and Liam into your room. Lock the door." Mark finally found his voice. "Sarah, what's going on?" She ignored him. Another knock. Exactly three. The calm voice outside spoke again. "Mrs. Sarah Katz." "We're not here to hurt anyone." "We only wish to speak." Mark walked toward the front door. "This is ridiculous." Sarah grabbed his arm before h
CHAPTER FOUR: THE LETTER
The letter remained on the dining table long after no one was reading it. No one touched it. No one spoke. The only sound inside the house was the steady ticking of the old grandfather clock in the hallway. Kelvin read the two sentences again. > The Tower has waited long enough. Bring the boy before the next full moon... or we will. His eyes narrowed. "What tower?" Sarah remained frozen. Mark looked at her. "You know exactly what they're talking about." She swallowed. "I..." "You've known this whole time." "I was trying to protect him." "Protect him from what?" Sarah looked at Kelvin, tears gathering in her eyes. "I can't explain everything." "Not yet." Mark slammed his hand on the table. "Not yet?" "Our house was surrounded." "Some lunatics leave threatening letters." "My family is terrified." "And you're still saying 'not yet'?" Emma burst into tears. "Stop shouting..." The room instantly fell silent. Sarah hurried over and h

He had found a pendant with a strange message on it.His mother had been standing outside his bedroom door.Kelvin sat up in bed. Waited to see if he would feel dizzy but he did not.His head felt clear. His body felt light like he had slept for a long time.He rubbed his face. And looked around the room.Everything was just like he had left it.His books were still over the floor, his drawer was slightly open and the curtains were half closed. For a moment Kelvin wondered if he had just imagined everything that had happened. Then he saw the pendant on his bedside table.Kelvin picked it up. CHAPTER EIGHT: THE AWAKENING
Kelvin didn't stop running until he could see the school building from afar. His legs felt stiffed that he almost couldn't take a step further. His breathing was rough, and his shirt was already sticking to his back from sweat. He slowed down as he approached the school gate, trying to look normal. He didn't want anyone asking questions. He definitely didn't want anyone knowing that he'd just been chased through the streets by strangers in a black car.Kelvin looked behind him and he could not see them again. The road was almost as empty as a grave yard, most people has gone for their daily activities. The black car was gone.He turned back toward the school and continued walking.Maybe they had given up or maybe they lost track. He entered the school grounds just as students were moving around, some are already taking lectures while some are still serving punishment they were unable to finish a day before, everyone are busy with their morning activities.A few people greeted him.Kelvin

His heart started pounding again,He looked around the school field. Students were still gathered in small groups. Teachers were trying to get everyone back inside. Brandon was being helped to his feet, still looking confused about what had happened. Nobody seemed to notice the car. Or maybe they simply didn't see anything suspicious about the car,but Kelvin did. He grabbed his bag. "Ethan." His friend looked at him "What's wrong?". "I have to go." "What?" Kelvin didn't wait for another question. He turned and ran. "Kelvin!" He heard Ethan calling after him, but he kept going. He pushed through the school gate and ran down the pavement. His legs were already tired from the earlier chase, and whatever had happened on the field had left his entire body feeling strangely weak. But
CHAPTER TEN: THE TOWER
The journey to Antherion Tower felt like it would never end. Kelvin sat quietly in the back seat, he had been sitting for hours, staring through the tinted window as the scenery outside slowly changed. At first, there were familiar roads, buildings, stores, people walking along the streets,Then the buildings became fewer,The roads became narrower,The houses disappeared one after another until there was almost nothing and all he could see were trees, transport vehicles moving around, and long stretches of empty land. Kelvin had stopped asking questions and also Adrain Cole hadn't said much since they left. He sat in the front seat, occasionally checking his phone while the woman who had been carrying the umbrella sat beside him. Kelvin looked at them through the mirror. He still didn't trust them. He didn't even know them. Yet somehow, his mother had trusted them enough to send him away with them. His mother.Kelvin looked down,She hadn't come with him, that bothered him more
