Chapter 1
I slowly opened my eyes, and I was in an unfamiliar room. I tried to sit up, but a sharp pain hit my head. "Ahhhhh," I cried softly. I tried remembering what happened, but the more I tried, the more the pain worsened. Knock knock. There was a knock on the door. I panicked, but a little girl entered. "Uh, you're awake," she said, looking at me. I just stared at her with shock. "Mum, he's awake!" she shouted. Then a boy and a woman rushed into the room. "Thank goodness you're awake," she said with a sigh of relief. "Ma'am, please, how did I get here, and where am I?" I asked, still holding my head from the pain. "Don't you remember? You ran towards me and asked for help before you passed out." "I—I can't remember," I stammered. The woman studied me for a moment, her eyes soft but searching, as though she were trying to piece together a puzzle from my face alone. "It's alright," she said gently, lowering herself onto the edge of the bed. "You've had quite a fall. Give it time,

"Caleb, take Lily and Ethan inside," she said, her voice shaking. “Yes mum” Caleb said as he took Lily by the hand and walked inside and Ethan followed them behind, we went inside but peeked outside through the door. We saw Mrs. Sarah opened a box and brought out some wrinkled money, she looked at it like it was her last. "Good morning, Mr. Garrick. Please collect this money, this is all I have." She said with a trembling voice. He grinned. "If you don't pay up complete before the week runs out, you'll live on the streets with your filthy children." "Mr. Garrick, please, give me small time. I'll pay up," she said, but he had already turned and left. Ethan stood behind the door, watching as he left. Mrs. Sarah fell to the floor and began to cry. "Mummy!" Lily called, running towards her mother, wrapping her small arms around her neck. Caleb followed, kneeling beside her, I stood at the door looking at them without knowing how to express my feelings. "I'm fine, baby," Mrs. Sarah
Chapter 3
"How could you let the little boy go?" he roared. "Can't you handle one simple job? Chase and clean." Mr. Enzo — my father's enemy — shouted, his voice bouncing off the walls of the cramped office. "Sir, I didn't know, please spare me," the man said, struggling against the grip of the two guards flanking him. "You are just so useless." Mr. Enzo slammed his palm against the desk, sending a stack of papers sliding to the floor. "If you don't find him, I won't spare you" He said, breathing hard, forcing his voice back under control. It was worse, somehow, when he was calm. "Get out of my sight." "Yes, boss," the man said, as he hurriedly left, not daring to look back. Mr. Enzo turned to the row of armed men standing silently by the door, their heads bowing down slightly so they wouldn't meet the gaze of Enzo. "He's just a little boy. There's no way he'll run that far." He said walking back and forth the entire room. "Find that boy within two days or consider yourself dead." "Yes sir
Chapter 4
"Caleb, he is mean but you shouldn't have pushed him," Lily said trying to regain her breath. "But he insulted you, and I won't watch anyone bully my sister," he said, sticking out his nose, forgetting about the situation. "Who was that guy?" Ethan asked. "He is the son of Mr Garrick, the man who came by this morning,"Lily said frowning, “he always bully mummy” "So, what are we going to do?" Ethan asked. "Oh my God, Caleb, Ethan," Lily whispered, peeking out the window. "Mr Garrick is here." "Lily, Ethan, come, let's stay inside," Caleb said. “We didn't lock the door Caleb” Ethan said frightened. "Who dares touch my son?" Mr Garrick shouted. "Dad, it's Caleb, he pushed me," James said, putting on a pity face. "Caleb, come outside now from the count of 3," he said, but no one answered. “2” “1” He pushed the door open and entered inside. Caleb rushed out. "Mr Garrick, it's me that hurt your son, my sister has nothing to do with it," he said again, standing his ground. Mr

Lily ran inside, smiling as she held the frame above her head."Good girl, go and rest okay," she told Lily. Caleb and Ethan helped her clean the place. It was her father's house. I kept it safe for her till she returned to pick it up. The old widow with no children kept on cursing and talking to herself. Everyone was staring at her," Lily kept on saying, lost in her thoughts.Cough! Cough! Mrs Sarah coughed hard, her whole body shaking with it. She looked down at her hands and saw blood. She tried to hide it quickly, but Lily spotted it fast."Mum, why are you coughing out blood?" she said, her voice suddenly small and scared."It's nothing, I'll be fine," Mrs Sarah said as she stood up to go inside her room.
