**One week later**

"Mr. Titan, what is wrong with your search team?" Mrs Sophia shouted aggressively. "It's been one week already. I need to see my son."

"I'm sorry," he struggled to say. "I didn't want to tell you earlier, but I got news that our son is dead."

"Whatttt!" Mrs Sophia said as she slowly turned to look at Mr Titan. "My son can't be dead. No, no!" She murmured

She cried and fell to the ground.

"The search team found his body at the outskirts of town," Mr. Titan said, his voice breaking. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect our son."

Mrs Sophia sat on the floor, crying and speechless. She wanted to talk, shout, or say something, but no words came out of her mouth. She just kept shaking her head, over and over, as if shaking it hard enough could make the news untrue.

Mr. Titan stood there and watched his wife break apart in front of him. He wanted to hold her, but his own legs felt too weak to move. He knew he had lost his legitimate heir to the Titan group and it broke him.

---

Miles away, in a large glass office that looked out over the city, Mrs Vanessa sat with a phone pressed to her ear. Her voice was calm and sweet, but her eyes were sharp and cold.

"Enzo," she said, "everything will go as planned as long as the boy is found dead. I will send the remaining ten million by tomorrow morning. Once the money clears, there will be nothing left to stop us."

On the other end, Mr Enzo leaned back in his chair, a small smile on his face. "And the company?"

"The company will belong to our child," Vanessa said. "Our child will be the true heir to the Titan Group. No one will question it. Not after everything we've arranged."

"Good," Enzo said. "Keep your voice down when you're around the staff. We can't afford any mistakes now, not when we're this close."

"I know how to keep a secret, Enzo," Vanessa said with a small laugh. "I have kept bigger ones than this."

They spoke a little longer about the money, about the papers that still needed signing, about the people who still needed to be paid to stay quiet. Then Vanessa said goodbye and the call ended.

Enzo sat alone in his office for a moment, turning his phone over in his hand. Everything felt like it was finally coming together. Years of planning, years of patience, and soon it would all pay off. He allowed himself a rare, satisfied breath.

There was a knock at the door.

"Come in," Enzo said.

One of his bodyguards stepped inside, his face cold and serious. He closed the door behind him and lowered his voice, even though they were alone.

"Sir," the bodyguard said, " The work is done, the boy’s body has been kept visible in the outskirts of town so the search team will spot it easily, and I just got word that the news has reached Mr Titan."

"They ran tests, sir," the bodyguard cut in. "They're saying the body matches. Mrs Sophia already knows. Mr. Titan told her himself an hour ago."

Enzo sat up straighter. "Good".He smiled at the bodyguard and dismissed him.

The bodyguard nodded and left the room without another word.

After he was alone, he gave a wicked laugh " Finally I'll take everything that belongs to you and leave you to suffer, everything will be mine”.

Enzo stood up slowly and walked to the window, looking out over the city without really seeing it. The boy's death means the plan he and Vanessa had built could move faster than he'd ever hoped. But something about it didn't sit right with him.

Enzo stood by the window, his heart beating a little faster than before. If the child really is pronounced dead, his and Vanessa's plan was almost complete.

But somewhere out there, a nine-year-old boy who stood between them and the Titan Group might still be alive.

She opened it and saw there were five pieces left. She took one and swallowed it."Mummy, see I dusted this frame clean!" Lily ran inside, smiling as she held the frame above her head."Good girl, go and rest okay," she told Lily. Caleb and Ethan helped her clean the place. It was her father's house.
