CHAPTER 21 — THE IRON GUARDIAN
The dungeon boars were large, muscular beasts standing roughly four feet tall at the shoulder, with thick, dark-gray hides covered in coarse black bristles. Their bodies were heavily built, with powerful legs capable of moving at incredible speed. Two short, curved tusks protruded from either side of their mouths, and their small yellow eyes glowed beneath heavy brows, giving them a naturally aggressive appearance. They weren't particularly intelligent creatures. They simply charged, attacked, and kept coming until either they or their opponent was dead.Standing far away from them was Adrian, who was now their enemy and opponent. They charged towards him in numbers, but their overwhelming power didn't phase him one bit.Instead, he had a smile on his face as they grew closer and closer, and with a dramatic pose, he shouted the name of his second summon.“Tank.”A heavy darkness surrounded Adrian for a second before something massive hit the ground, cracking it before revealing the Kn
CHAPTER 22 — THE ARCANE DEVOURER
[Urgent Mission]B-Rank Dungeon spotted. Proceed to its location and clear the Dungeon. The system panel automatically appeared in front of Adrian, displaying a map from his current location down to the location of the dungeon. He jumped to his feet immediately and started preparing, as the one thing he noticed was that anytime the system gave him a mission, there were always rewards. Good rewards. And he already had plans to clear a B-Rank Dungeon, so this was like killing two birds with one stone. He left the estate, hopped onto his power bike, and roared the engine to life before speeding toward the dungeon's location. The world twisted and turned as soon as he entered the gate, and now he saw himself in another location entirely. The first thing Adrian laid his eyes on was the corpse of a monster. There was no way he could describe what type of monster this was, but its body was burnt, and when he crouched beside it and touched it, he could still feel the heat, meaning someone was
CHAPTER 23 — A NEW RESPONSIBILITY
“What in the world am I looking at?” Miren asked, looking at the unconscious red-haired child lying on one of the beds in her office.“To be honest, I don't know either. I raided a B-Rank Dungeon and found her fighting the boss of the dungeon, backed her up, and she got knocked out.”“Wait a minute, a B-Rank Dungeon? Aren't you C-Rank? What the hell are you doing in a B-Rank Dungeon?” she asked, turning to face him fully.“You might be surprised at this, but I awakened my second Summon earlier this week,” Adrian said with a smile, already knowing that she wouldn't believe him.“That's a funny joke, Adrian,” she said, laughing slightly, making Adrian laugh too. But then Noir and Tank appeared by his side, both of their heads not too far from the ceiling of the office.Miren took one step backward as she felt the gaze of the two giant knights looking down at her.“What in the absolute fuck am I seeing? How is this possible?” she asked Adrian, her voice almost shaking.“I told you I wasn
CHAPTER 24 — THE SHOPPING TRIP
It was nighttime already, and Adrian sat down on his power bike outside one of the most expensive shopping districts in Ashvale, staring down at the long list in his hand. The list had been written by Miren before he left her office, detailing the things he needed to buy for Mina.Clothes.Shoes.Food.Hygiene products.Toys.School supplies.A bed.Medicine.And several other things Adrian had never even heard of before as he slowly lowered the paper.“This is ridiculous.”Beside him, Mina was sitting on the bike too, with her legs swinging back and forth, happily eating an ice cream Adrian had bought for her on the way.“Papa,” she said, calling his attention and making Adrian glance down at her.“What?”“More.” She pointed at the snack in her hand.“You just finished three.”“More,” she repeated herself as Adrian stared at her for a moment before sighing and reaching into the shopping bag, picking another one and opening it for her as she smiled immediately.Adrian shook his head a
CHAPTER 25 — THE IRON GUARDIAN'S EVOLUTION
Adrian opened his house door and walked in, followed by Mina.He walked into his living room to behold boxes of different sizes, and when he opened them one after the other, he found out they were all the stuff they bought.“So teleportation is indeed real,” Adrian said to himself, amazed at what the changes in Mana and Summoning had brought to this world. He turned back to Mina, who was still standing in the doorway of the living room, admiring it.He didn't need anyone to tell him that this was the first time she was seeing the interior of a house. He walked up to his couch and sat down before motioning for Mina to come join him.She took little steps and soon came to stand beside him before he gently raised her up and sat her on the couch. She gripped his hand in panic as she almost fell. The couch was so soft that her weight sank down into it, and this was a new feeling for her.Adrian smiled at this before turning the television on and changing it to a children's cartoon, and tha
CHAPTER 26 — THE PAST RETURNS
“And who is she to you exactly?” the principal of Aegis Summoners Preparatory Academy asked Adrian.Today was Monday, and he went to enroll Mina into Aegis Summoners Preparatory Academy, where she could be taught about education, summons, and everything she would need as knowledge.“She is my… um,” Adrian said, not knowing whether to call Mina his sister’s child or his junior sister, but he made his decision in the end.“She’s my daughter.”The principal raised her head from what she was typing and looked at Adrian straight into his eyes, trying to see if he was lying.Adrian was about to break eye contact when she finally looked away and continued typing.“You’re a young man. How did you get so careless to have a baby?” she asked him.“Well, things happened between my girlfriend and me, and she got pregnant. She wanted to abort the baby, but I couldn’t just let a life get wasted, so I decided to raise her and take care of her properly,” Adrian lied, and even he was surprised at how h
CHAPTER 27 — THE UNDERGROUND ARENA
The senior, still ranting and shouting, raised his leg to kick Ruby, but Adrian appeared immediately and pushed him away. Not with the intent of starting a fight, but just to create space between them.Ruby stood up slowly, but Adrian made no attempt to turn back or even help her up.“You sick bastard,” the senior said, walking close to Adrian.“I know you. You're that first-year causing trouble all over the school. You must think you're some kind of hotshot to be interfering with your senior, right?”“I don't want any trouble. I just can't bear seeing you bully a girl. Have some respect for yourself, man,” Adrian said calmly, but the senior had no intention of letting this disrespect slide. He raised his hand for a punch when two of his friends dragged him back.“Dude, don't do it,” the first guy said, but the enraged senior still tried to start the fight until, after more words from his friends, he finally stopped. He glared hard at Adrian before walking away. One of them stayed beh
CHAPTER 28 — THE CHAMPION OF THE ARENA
“Ladies and gentlemen, today we are about to witness a fight between two powerhouses. Shadow himself and Kazar, who is known to be one of the champions of this arena. Will the Black Knight be able to win against Kazar, or will Kazar dominate this fight and claim victory as always?” the commentator said as the crowd cheered.“Start making your bets on who you think will walk out of this arena a champion. Remember, you cannot ascend to the top if you don't take a few risks.”Adrian and the senior, Kazar, stood on opposite sides of the wide arena ground. From the announcement just made, Adrian found out that Kazar wasn't just a senior; he had already made a name for himself as one of their champions.Kazar smiled as a portal opened behind him, and a 7-foot-tall beast appeared. It had a heavily muscular frame that made its body look far more like a prehistoric predator than an ordinary bird, and its entire body was covered in thick, jet-black feathers, layered densely around its torso and

CHAPTER 29 — LET'S SETTLE THE SCORE
“Looks like you're a magnet for bullets, am I right, Adrian?”Adrian, still lying on the ground, bent his head slightly and looked to his side. He saw a very young version of himself squatting by his side.“First it was Smoke, and now this dude. You think you're going to survive this one?” the young boy asked with a smile on his face and then began laughing loudly.“Of course you'll fucking survive. How can a B-Rank Summoner be killed by ordinary bullets? That's not possible, right?”“You are currently wondering why your body can't move and why you feel like you're about to die, but it is not true. Your body is currently going through the trauma of being shot, especially that first time by Smoke. That is why when you got shot, you went into shock, and your brain is currently believing you're going to die.”“We are nothing here. The only thing we have here is money, and if you compare that to other students who have money, power, and family influence, then what we have is nothing.”“Th
