Chapter 11
Elena barely let the car come to rest before she grabbed her bag and alighted in haste. She was home, she didn't need to rush, but she had to see Matthew’s face as soon as possible, in order to calm the frustration riling up within her.Matthew was helping himself with a cup of coffee at the kitchen when the door to the living room suddenly swung open. He turned out of curiosity, almost spilling the coffee. When he saw that it was her, his brows mopped up, “Oh, babe, it's you. Why are you in such a hurry?”Elena didn't stop until she got right before him, holding his face and staring intently at it. Gradually, the storm in her mind came to rest, Tyler's indifference that nagged at her faded to some extent. They would definitely return, she was well aware, but that was for a future version of her to take care of.“Uh… Elena?” Matthew finally voiced out, smiling weirdly after over a minute of silence. He placed a hand on hers, “Are you good? Is there something wrong with my face?" Th
Chapter 12
With not enough time to run back into the room and get supplies from his duffle bag, Tyler pulled off his jacket and sprinted for the room.He wrapped the jacket around his hand before grabbing the doorknob. Years of experience had made him know how hot any metal around a fire would be. He turned the knob and the door opened rather easily. He rushed in regardless and froze for a moment there, trying to make sense of the scene before him.A woman with lush white hair stood before the burning duvet on the floor, coughing as she poured more alcohol into it, the bottle in her hand almost empty. She also staggered a bit, as though the world tilted around her. This wasn't Tyler's first time around arsonists, but the difference between them and this woman was that the former enjoyed watching things burn. She had tears in her eyes, crestfallen, but wouldn't stop adding fuel to the flames. He could tell that she was also drunk but that wasn't enough reason to set the room on fire.Holding that

Fae’s loud cry rang out into the night, reaching almost everyone in the motel. Who could blame her? She was falling to her death, kicked by the man sworn to save lives. Her fall was short-lived, however, as she crashed into a bunch of shrubs. A few twigs scratched her skin, drawing little blood; she also had a few splinters.Other than that, she was pretty much okay. And moreso, alive.“Ahh… ahh…” Her heart still slammed against her chest as she managed to pull herself up, pulling out the leaves stuck to her clothing.“Hey there," Tyler called out from the window with a small wave and smile.Fae lifted her head and then realized that he wasn't as far away as she had expected. If she put all her strength into her legs and jumped, she would be able to reach the window. She looked around to see that she had fallen from the ground floor, hence, why she was still breathing and in one piece."Tch!” She palmed her face in embarrassment. Whilst being drunk, she thought she was on one of the u

U9 KARAOKE CLUB.Hand in hand, Elena and Matthew strolled into the place, Kitty right behind them.Elena was smiling from ear to ear as she noticed the men in the lobby gobbling her up with their eyes. This could only mean that she had dressed as intended. Her sleeveless gown barely did anything to hide her cleavages and thighs. And that was it, she wore nothing else to cover up, not even a jacket to brace the cold.Kitty had brought one along and insisted she put it on, but Elena was more stubborn. They booked a private room, which wasn't so private when they got in.People were already there, mostly men, drinking to their heart’s content. The mics for singing were basically useless.Kitty frowned at this and nudged Elena, “Ugh, this place reeks. We should find another room." “No, no, this is just perfect," Elena pulled Matthew to the open booth at the far end of the room.Kitty followed briskly, “A-Are you sure? Th–”Matthew cut in with a dubious smile, “You worry too much, Kitty.

Some minutes earlier…“Not even coffee?" Kitty’s frustrated voice bounced around the bar and across the lobby. The barman kept shaking his cocktail, looking down at her stoically, “This is a bar, miss, not a diner. You've asked for tea and coffee, why on Earth would we have that?" Kitty pouted, resisting the urge to roll her eyes, “I need it for a friend who has gotten too drunk. What do you give customers who have wasted themselves?" “And that concerns us how? They chose to drink, they chose to get wasted. They are well aware of the repercussions. It isn't my job to care about the aftermath," he answered with a shrug, pouring the cocktail into a empty glass. The man standing beside Kitty took the glass from the counter and left.Kitty sighed. She couldn't leave without finding something helpful. Elena had been drinking too much. It could be dangerous if she started to act out of order.‘I would have gotten some water but Elena wouldn't accept it,’ she pondered. She leaned forward o

“Elena! Elena! Someone please help!" Kitty cried after them.“Oh, would you just shut it already?" One of the men retorted with a deep frown, annoyed by her persistence and tiny voice. He tried shoving her back but she evaded it and slapped down his arm.“Give back my friend you disgusting perverts!” she kept hitting him, hoping that he would budge, but he could barely feel the impact of her palms. The man couldn't help but laugh, “It's pointless fighting back. Leave us now or would you rather watch what we'll do to her?" Kitty gulped in fear, “S-Shut up! I won't let you." “Ugh, shut her up already." “She's ruining the mood." “Kick her down." The other men began complaining as they finally got to the upper floor. They were itching to get their hands on Elena but Kitty's incessant nagging kept disrupting that thought. Two beeps from Kitty's phone made her pause her futile fight. She winced, flaying her palms, reddened and pulsing from repeatedly striking his iron skin. She took so
Chapter 17
Tyler stepped into the lobby of U9 Karaoke Club, fitted in a black biker's jacket that was well equipped with his essentials. He got to the front desk and leaned in, “Good evening. Please where is room 19?" He had gotten the room number from the images and videos sent to him.The man behind the desk sized him up for a second or two before pointing in a direction, “Down the hall to the left. You won't miss it." Tyler was already walking away before he said thank you. The video’s contents wouldn't leave his mind. Elena had gotten herself in grave danger, which also put Kitty in danger, with no one to help. And the man she left him for, Matthew, seemed to be the forerunner of the whole thing. He soon found the room and barged in. The ground floor was empty, red and blue lights dancing around him, a soft beat booming in the background. His eyes rolled around their sockets as he scanned the room. He spotted the stairs in no time and moved quickly. Some men had lined the stairs, cooing an

"Thanks for your patronage. We hope to see you again,” the doorman said with a genuine smile as he held the door open. He pulled out a tablet from behind him, “If you don't mind, you can take a short survey and rate us out of 5 stars.”Tyler adjusted Elena in his arms and walked past the doorman without a word. The latter felt his brows curl up.Finally stepping outside, Elena shuddered and shrunk further in Tyler's arms as the cold breeze hit her. It also didn't help with the bruises on her body; they stung deeply.Tyler kept walking, however, ignoring her movement. He still hadn't said a word since they left the private room. His eyes were always forward, the inner workings of his mind a complete mystery to her. When she noticed that they were headed to the parking lot, her lips curved into a smile, ‘He’s going to drive me home. I'll make sure he never leaves.’They soon got to her car and he lowered her carefully. She adjusted her skimpy gown and fixed her hair, “Thank you." “Don'

Elena smiled in glee, reaching into her purse for the car keys. Well, it wasn't until then that she discovered that her purse was missing. Her smile dwindled and she racked her brain, trying to remember where she left it. Her mind was still clouded by the alcohol but it would have to be in the private room no matter what. She put both palms up as she gently pushed Tyler, "I forgot my purse. I'll go get it and be back in a minute. Don't leave here, okay?”Tyler shook his head with a sigh, "No, I should go. Have you forgotten what just transpired in that room?" Kitty got to them as he said this, holding her knees and breathing heavily, beads of sweat rolling down her cheeks, "Thank God you're still here.”“Geez!" Elena almost jumped back, startled by her friend’s sudden appearance. She held up a small silver purse, "I had to find your purse and mine. They had been scattered around in the chaos. Plus, those men still tried touching me, not until I reminded them about Tyler." She winked

"You want me to lick your feet, is that it?” Elena clutched his shirt. This finally brought his eyes down at her, "Will you stop this nonsense, Elena? Just hear yourself. This isn't like you.”She pursed her lips, "It's because of you, Tyler! You've reduced me to this state. Does it give you joy?" Frustrated, Tyler grabbed her wrists and pulled her hands away from his shirt, “Trying to make you see reason is pointless. I'm leaving.”He brushed past her and got to the door within three seconds. Elena whipped around and called out his name but he was long gone, the door coming to a close. She let out a heavy sigh as she hugged herself to brace the cold from the AC. She hadn't felt how cold it was until he left her; he was her warmth. She turned it off with the remote and dragged her feet into the hidden room, the walls slowly closing behind her.Now staring at the full body mirror, she couldn't help but scan herself, twisting and turning to see if there was something wrong with her bod
