While the other two guards help Alex up, Mr. Kim narrows his eyes furiously at Andrea and Mark, who stood as if they had seen a ghost.

Mr. Xavier stone was in a meeting when he came, so he had to wait for him to finish before going in to see him.

And now he was going with two guards to bring in Alex when he saw Andrea push Alex.

“How dare you push him that way do you know who he is” Mr. Kim shouted and Andrea and Mark shivered in fright, “he is Alexander Xavier, the only heir of Xavier stone.

On hearing Mr. Kim's words, Andrea and Mark opened their mouths in disbelief.

Ever since they became James friends back in high school, they've always seen Mr. Kim around. He was among the oldest workers Mr. Xavier had but never had they seen this other side of him, so, it was enough to flinch In fright knowing this other side of him was shown to them because of Alex, a poor church rat. Someone who was the poorest student in the whole of rift valley university. The son of a common sweep!

“Wait. Are you not James Darius's friends,” he asked on remembering their faces.

“Yes” they nod

Mr. Kim massages his temple.

He has heard Alex say James bullied him, but he didn't think it was that serious, but witnessing this, made him want to weep. For James friends to have the nerve to bully Alex this way, Alex had gone through hell in their hands while In college.

“Is this how you've been bullying him with James while in college?” he asked, his eyes raised In anger.

“Alex must have gone through hell. Look at the way you pushed him. That means you all actually bullied him, gosh! I can't imagine how pitiful his life has been” Mr. Kim said, shaking his head in pity.

Andrea and Mark couldn't say a word as they looked terrified and at the same time surprised.

Suddenly seeing someone they thought won't amount to anything being defended by people like Xavier's bodyguard was a total blow to them, and it was sure going to take time before they can shake off the shock.

Mr. Kim slowly took some steps toward Andrea and Mark, while they stepped back in fear.

His gaze drill holes in their bodies.

He wasn't going to let them go just like that, but he was going to punish them for ever bullying Alex.

“Kim” Alex called, standing on his feet, “let them be”

Mr. Kim tried protesting but still obeyed

Alex is the boss. If he doesn't want to get them punished for what they did, then who was he?

“At least they should apologize” he turns his gaze to Alex.

“No, it's fine, let them go” Alex shook his head.

Mr. Kim returned his gaze to the two boys, whose legs have now turned to jelly.

“You should thank your God he said that. Else I would have dealt with you so much that you will never bully anyone no matter their financial status” Mr. Kim said to them before walking out with Alex and the two bodyguards.

“Holy shit!” Mark cuss, “did you just see that, or I was hallucinating”.

“I did” Andrea responded , watching their figure until it finally disappeared.

“How come Alex knows them?

How did he become the Xavier heir suddenly?

What about James, is he not the only heir?” A lot of questions clouded Andrea's mind.

“We need to see James as soon as possible. He needs to tell us what is going on.” Mark rubbed his palms together.

“We know Alex. His father was a sweeper, so how come he is suddenly addressed as the young master?

but the only way we can have an idea of everything happening is through James, so we are not going to see him as soon as possible but right now” Andrea said and Mark nodded.

With that agreement, they scurry toward James's office.

“Man, what is going on,” Andrea asked, immediately the door flung open.

“Where” James, who didn't understand the question, replied with another question.

“We saw Alex and your grandfather's guards were referring to him as young master,” Mark said, walking into James' office.

His face immediately turns into a frown, “that bitch is here?” he folds his palm

into a tight ball. “Seat” he said and immediately Mark and Andrea walked towards the seat facing him then sat down.

Mr. Xavier is the owner of the company and due to how good James, Abigail, and Mrs. Darius have been to him since his only son Peter left, he gave each of them an office while he manages the position of the CEO. And James had always dreamed of taking over him all these years, thinking he never had a child of his until Alex came in and turned all his plans upside down.

“That is insane” mark spat after James had explained everything to them.

“He is a liar. He isn't related to grandfather” Andrea said, “ but even if he is, am sure your grandfather won't give him the position of the CEO”.

James stood up then pace around.

“Not just this company. But just like I heard, he is the heir to all my grandfather's wealth, including this company. For years, I have waited to be the heir, but now that poverty-stricken thing wants to stand in my way”.

“Let's cut this crap.” Andrea stood up then walked toward James. “You and your family are the only family your grandfather knows“ he places his hand on his shoulder “he is here to reap where he didn't sow, and I know grandfather is wise enough to know that. Besides, he is yet to be announced”

“Tonight is supposed to be the day my grandfather will announce his heir. The one that will take over all his wealth. The Next in-line tycoon of the Xavier’s family. But now, Alex came into the picture yesterday”.

“he isn't yet announced, so we have some hope,” mark said, hitting his index finger on the table thinking

“We will help you, and you will also help us to make sure he is dealt with for the humiliation we faced out there because of him” Mark stands to his feet.

James slams his hand on the wall furiously.

“Alex is here to humiliate and make me a mockery before everyone, including my friends, but I won't allow it. I will put him in his place and that is poverty” he said in his heart, then stormed off the room and his friends trailing behind.

He walks towards Xavier's office.

“Stop right there” he yells, seeing Alex and Mr. Kim walking towards the elevator.

Mr. Kim, who was taking Alex round the company to show him everywhere as Mr. Xavier had instructed, scoffed “ the little boy won't stop humiliating himself”

“What are you doing here? Oh, I see you came to get the job of a peon. Because that's the only job available for poverty-stricken people like you” James laughs, walking towards Alex and Mr. Kim while Andrea and Mark, trail behind.

“I am not here for you so you better get out of my way.” Alex stared at him with so much disgust in his eyes.

Everyone including Mr. Kim, Andrea, Mark, and James stood aback by Alex's boldness.

James quickly shakes off the shock and said, “ I will throw you out tonight. You will go back to that wretched, poverty-stricken life of yours once grandfather announces me as the next heir of the family in tonight’s party”.

“Tonight the next heir will be announced?” Alex opened his mouth wide.

He was shocked that he said in his heart, “since no one informed me, that means I don’t stand a chance here. I’ve been given false hope”.

“Oh, it seems he isn’t aware” James laughed and Andrea and Mark joined.

Alex quickly ran into the elevator and Mr. Kim chased after him.
