chapter 1

In the beautiful city of Richmond, a swarm of men wielding large cameras and recorders surrounds a handsome young man in his early 30s, each of them taking turns asking him questions to pique their curiosity about what they describe as his sudden mighty return.

“Mr. Wilson, could you please explain to us how you went from being an alcoholic homeless man to a classy multimillionaire in a matter of months after losing everything?” one beautiful blond reporter asks him.

When he hears her question, the young, attractive heartthrob in a suit standing behind his two muscular bodyguards turns his gaze to her and smiles confidently.

“Who said I lost everything?” He asks, as if the lady and all the other men dying with curiosity of how it’s possible that his returning not only better looking but also a multi millionaire again after losing all his wealth to his half brother and even became a homeless drunkard because of sinking into depression, are simply delusional.

The gorgeous hunk showed up recently looking more wealthy and handsome than ever, announcing his return to the corporate world and ownership of a couple of multimillions dollar businesses, surprising the globe after being spotted drunk and homeless a week before. Since then, the world has been filled with unanswered questions of which the man doesn’t seem to answer in the manner which they expected.

When the reporters hear his response, they become even more perplexed. How could the famous multi millionaire claim he had never lost anything when they witnessed it happen?

Many reporters are still gazing at him, surprised when one suddenly shouts amongst them.

“But you did, the world watched it happen, you even sank into depression and became an alcoholic, the world was a witness to all of that, which is why your mighty return as not only a healthy non alcoholic but also a multi millionaire again shocks everyone.” She speaks boldly, causing the handsome man in question to chuckle a bit.

“How did it all happen? You were last seen drunk and still homeless just a week ago. When did you go to rehab? How did you get your wealth and billionaire status back in this short timeline?” The blond reporter in a black suit adds upon the multi millionaire’s silence.

Hearing her question, the man flushes his beautiful smile, casting his gaze back to her.

“I wish to give you a different answer, really I do. But like I already told the metro press, I was never an alcoholic homeless man, I was simply pretending to be one to give my enemy the satisfaction that he had won so he would leave me alone as it was obvious that he wasn’t only after my father’s wealth but also after me.” He answers confidently, confusing the world and the men surrounding him even further.

“So you are saying you never lost anything?” asks another reporter.

The man turns his gaze towards the third reporter. “Correct.” He Confirms.

As his still looking at the third reporter, another one shouts from behind him

“If you really never lost your wealth, why did your wife leave you?” He asks, reminding Him he didn’t just make headlines for simply losing his multi millionaire status but also his wife and kids.

As though he didn’t expect that question, the handsome multi millionaire turns and looks at the reporter for a moment before finally answering. “Story for another day.”

“What about your father’s biggest company in the country which is now owned by Mr. Trump, and all the other companies and how then did he become a millionaire if it wasn’t through you losing everything to him?”

Another reporter joins in, curious how then Elijah’s half brother became a millionaire if he did not steal Elijah’s fortune.

The handsome hunk sighs at that question and once again looks at the reporter for a time before responding.

“Well, I lost the companies, but as you can see, obviously my multi millionaire status didn’t come from them. They don’t make that kind of money and from what I heard, they are even struggling lately. Also, to answer your last question of how my half brother became a millionaire after claiming to have inherited everything that my father left, perhaps the person you should investigate is him.”

The reporter looks at him blankly, surprised by what he has just stated.

Is Elijah suggesting that his half brother lied about how he came to be so wealthy? If he truly did, how did he come to be a millionaire?

He also mentioned something concerning, which piqued one reporter’s curiosity.

“Mr. Wilson, you mentioned that Mr. Trump wasn’t only after your wealth, but also you. Are you saying Mr. Trump wanted to kill you?” The reporter asks him.

The multi millionaire turn his gaze towards the reporter’s direction

“I got a couple of threats anonymously, right when he was trying to steal everything that my father left for me, so…” he answers boldly, like the confident gentleman that he is.

However, as if he had suddenly piqued each reporter’s interest, questions piled up one after the other. But even with that, he answered each question.

“Did you ever consult him? Mr. Trump?”

“I wouldn’t even if I wanted to. He denied me access from the very company that he stole from me, served me with a protection order that forbidden me from going anywhere near him.”

“But if you felt you had to turn yourself into the country’s laughingstock to get your enemy to leave you alone, what’s making you suddenly come out now? Why are you telling the world all of this? Aren’t you afraid he could try to kill you again?”

“As much as I feared for my life and felt I had to let my enemy believe he had won, I eventually realized I could not live like that forever, there had to come out a time when I would have to come out and face the devil and that time is now. “

In the nearby building. Trevor Trump, Elijah’s half brother, was in the middle of a meeting with his company stakeholders, updating them on an impending meeting with a potential investor interested in partnering with Wilson’s largest company to save it from bankruptcy, when his receptionist barged into the boardroom without knocking.

“Mr. Trump.” The receptionist yells as she rushes in.

When he heard that, the arrogant new CEO of the Wilson empire turned away from his stakeholders and turned to face her.

“Not right now, Tracy; I’m extremely busy.” He yells at her.

When the receptionist entered, the board fell silent and everyone turned to stare at her.

“But I... I think you should see this.” stutters Tracy, Trevor’s receptionist as she holds her big apple tablet in her hands.

“So what is this?” asks Trevor in a strident, irate tone.

Tracy gives him a fleeting glance and blinks her eyes.

“It’s your half-brother, Elijah.” She explains in a trembling voice.

The arrogant CEO laughs as if she had made a joke.

“The drunkard?” He smirks. "So you’re telling me you disturbed my board meeting to tell me about my useless half brother?” he continues, maintaining a focus on Tracy, who swiftly flickers her eyes once more to let him know that Elijah had done something.

For the past few months, Trevor had grown accustomed to hearing updates about his half- brother’s misery, which gave him the most satisfaction.

However, he is currently too preoccupied with saving his largest company to care

about Elijah.

Hence he immediately he felt enraged as he believes Tracy was going to tell him

more about Elijah’s misery, which

normally brings him joy.

But what he doesn’t know is that he’s about to be surprised.

Trevor realizes something is wrong after observing Tracy’s reaction and listens

“What is it Tracy? How did he humiliate himself this time? “He asks, keeping a straight face.

“No, he didn’t.” Tracy says as she hands her phone to him.

Trevor moves his eyes to the screen only to be surprised by the live press conference with the title ‘Elijah’s Wilson’s mighty return as the newest multi millionaire business owners in town.’

When Trevor sees that, he burst into a laughter, surprising his receptionist

“Poor Elijah never ceases to amaze me.”

Trevor believes that he had got all of his father’s assets from his half-brother Elijah. He is certain he had won and had lived for months to relish that fact; hence, he doesn’t believe the news of his half brother being a multimillionaire is accurate. To him, this is just Elijah seeking attention.

“How is this a joke, Mr. Trump? Elijah just made some serious claims against you that may cost us our potential investor.” Tracy asks with a straight face.

When he heard that, the arrogant CEO stopped laughing and looked at his receptionist.

What accusations could his drunkard half brother have made that could endanger his deal to preserve his largest company?
