Chapter 52

Abigail spluttered. Some drops of her coffee landed on Declan's hands but he cared less about that at the moment. 

It was relieving that he had finally relayed all that was on his mind. To him, that was all that mattered.

"What did you just say?" She asked him.

"I said that Ferdinand, my father, is not dead. He is alive and well", he answered. 

She stared at him without blinking for a few seconds. "Then I want to see him first", she insisted, and he knew that she was still in doubt.

He expected that. He expected her to doubt. He expected anybody that heard of it to doubt. He wondered how unbelievable it would sound to Daniel.
