Just when you are down things began to work in your favour. For a moment, I could not believe what he just called me.
No one has ever referred to me with a title. I was used to being called name. Names that never really mattered. Names that I was being branded with. The title ' Young Master' felt foreign. The gate keeper looked at me again and back at the man in suit. " You must be mistaken, Sir. The man here is..." he stuttered. " The man here is the lost son of Mac Donald." he said with a smile. " Mac Donald? But that is..." the gate keeper looked at me and back at the man. I was still dazed. I could barely believe what the doctor was saying. I looked back at the family that had ridiculed me. At the house that has thrown me out without a second thought. " Please, your family is waiting." the doctor said. I was led into the black silk limousine. As the car roared into life, I looked back with anger. Linda and her family were going to suffer every sting, every ounce of shame I had suffered all this years. ****************************************************************** The estate sprawled right in front of me. The flowers were neatly trimmed into perfect curves and lines. The iron gates creaked open without a word being spoken, and the limousine glided into the big compound. My fingers clenched against the leather seat. This place didn’t feel real. It felt like one of those dreams you wake up from. I shut my eyes and for a moment, it all felt like a dream. Yet the scent of polished wood and faint lavender told me this wasn’t what I had imagine. All of this was real. The car slowed to a stop beneath an arched entrance supported by marble pillars. Servants in matching uniforms lined up on both sides, heads bowed. The door opened, and before I could gather my thoughts, a man with silver-streaked hair stepped forward and lowered himself into a deep bow. “Welcome home, Young Master.” The words felt more real this time. As I was wheeled out of my chair, I felt life was starting I feel more meaningful. The servants smiled, each of them whispering. " He looks like the old man." " He ain't a bastard." " He is so fine." The words were pleasing but im actual truth, I was scared. I had never had any one called me family. The man with silver hair walked ahead of me and immediately he got to the door, he looked at me, " He is waiting, Mr Dan. Trust me, you are in safe hands." I gulped down the thick saliva at the back of my throat and nodded. I have alot of questions that I wanted to ask but maybe they could all wait. I was greeted by men in black suit the moment I walked in. They all bowed immediately like they had been ordered to do so. As I wheeled myself through their midst, I couldn't help it but look at the picture of a man with grey beards. His eyes was fixed on me like he was in flesh and blood. " Come right this way." the man said again. I followed without much of a word. I was in no position to say a word actually. We kept walking until we reach a tall black mahogany door. It was designed with a sigil. More like a family crest. " He is waiting." he said again with his hands stretched, a bow of his head. I let out a long sigh and wheeled towards the door to meet this strange man that was supposed to be my father. " He is waiting, Mr Dan." the silver hair man said again, this time with a smile on his face. I placed my hand on the gold metallic handle that was supposed to be the knob and I felt a cold shiver rundown my spine. The air was heavy with unspoken words the moment I wheeled myself in. I had lots of questions. I had believed myself to be an orphan since I started to crawl on all four. No father. No mother. I was all alone by myself. But everything seems to change the moment I lost my spine. My gaze slowly went from my feet towards the white bearded man who sat behind a big large glassy table. Behind him was a tall walk of books that I can't help but wonder how long time it was going to take him to read every single one of them. " One thousand eight hundred and sixty five days." he said without looking up. " What?" I asked with my brows arched. " It took me tha time to read half of it. I don't think I a ever going to be able to finish it before my death." he said and looked up. The moment out eyes met, my jaws dropped. It was the man I had saved. The same man the doctor told me he didn't make it. I felt all of this was a drama. " Is this the part where you tell me this is a joke?" I asked with anger. My hands clenched my wheel like it was going to break under my harsh clutch. " What are you talking about son?" the man asked getting out of his chair. He didn't seem bothered. Maybe his arrogance came with being rich. " Where are the camera's?" I asked again " No camera's Daniel but what I can tell you is that your life is going to change drastically." he said walking closer " If you are indeed my son then the moment the world finds out, you are going to be hunted but yet powerful. You are going to be so rich you would think all of this is a dream but first you need to pass the test." he said again " Test? What test?" I asked staring at him The door opened and I saw the strange doctor walked in with a tray in his hand. Inside it was a syringe lying carefully in it. " Shall we begin, Mr Dan." he said smiling.Latest Chapter
DEAL WITH THE DEVIL
Janet’s head snapped toward me so fast that strands of hair fell across her face.“Deal?” she repeated, her voice low and dangerous. “You made a deal with him without even asking me?”I did not answer immediately.Because the truth was simple. If I started thinking too much, I would realize I had just shaken hands with the kind of man I was not supposed to trust.Almond smiled slowly and stretched out his hand. “Wise choice, boy.”I stared at his palm for a second before taking it.The moment our hands touched, something cold ran through me.Not fear.Warning.Laura looked up from the laptop and laughed softly. “Congratulations. We are officially working with snakes.”Janet folded her arms. “Speak for yourself.”Almond ignored the tension and turned toward Laura. “How long?”“Give me ten minutes.”“You have five.”Laura rolled her eyes and continued typing. The room returned to silence except for the rapid tapping of keys.I walked toward Janet. She stepped back.“You’re angry.”“I’m
DANIEL THE GREAT!
I looked at Almost and back at Laura. I was not really sure if telling them what I knew was the right thing to do. "How did you know I was here?" I asked, staring at him."This house has a tracer. The moment you got here, I was alerted." Almost replied Janet stared at Laura, who seems to be more interested in me. "When did you find out your blood heals?" she asked I didn't feel like answering her question. Laura had betrayed my trust in her, so talking to her felt awkward. "Why do you care?" Janet answered back immediately with a feisty tone. "Don't you think we are allies for a second?" Laura laughed. "You really think a man like Daniel is meant for someone like you?" Laura said back. The room felt tense. "He is my husband. We are bound legally," Janet fired back. I immediately walked into the midst of them. "Back off, Laura. The only reason you are here is because I have no other place to crash. What we have going on is a simple understanding. You scratch our backs, and we
THE BLOOD SAGA
Almond’s question hung in the air like a blade suspended by a thread. “And whose blood is this?” For a split second, no one moved. Janet reacted first. She let out a sharp breath, too quick, too forced, and stepped forward before I could say anything. “It’s nothing,” she said, waving her hand dismissively. “I cut myself earlier. Broken glass.” Almond didn’t look convinced. His eyes dropped back to the floor, tracing the scattered crimson droplets. Then slowly, deliberately, he crouched down. Two fingers brushed against the stain, rubbing it thoughtfully. I felt my pulse spike. Too much blood. Way too much for a “small cut.” “Broken glass?” he repeated quietly. Janet crossed her arms, forcing a shrug. “Yeah. From the kitchen. I cleaned most of it already.” “Most,” Almond echoed. Laura shifted near the doorway, her gaze flicking between all of us. She wasn’t speaking, but she was watching. I stepped forward, inserting myself between Almond and the rest of the
JANET SCARED
Janet and I froze where we stood, our eyes fixed on the aquarium. The little golden fish darted wildly through the water as if nothing had happened. It swam in frantic circles, bumping into the glass before suddenly going still near the bottom. Its tiny body twitched once... then it slowly rose again and glided upward.Alive.Truly alive.Janet turned to me so sharply the chair behind her nearly tipped over."What the hell are you?" she whispered.I wish I had an answer. My palm still bled from the cut. Blood dripped onto the floor in soft red taps. Yet I barely felt the pain anymore. The wound was already closing. Flesh knitting itself together before our eyes.Janet stumbled backward."No..." she muttered. "No, no, no..."She grabbed my wrist and raised my hand to the light. The cut that had been deep enough to expose skin beneath was now nothing more than a thin pink line. Her fingers trembled."You heal too?""I don't know.""You brought me back. "You brought a fish back. And now
A HEALING BLOOD
Things haven't been the same ever since I woke up back to life. I could tell Janet was going to figure it out anytime soon, but then, I have to understand what I am. The only way to do that was the book. I have to get it back from Dac. I had to find it, but I didn't risk letting him know I was alive. I knew that by now. Janet, on the other hand, was freaking out. She walked into my room, her body inclining against the door. "What is your plan, Dan? We can stay in hiding. "This is now two weeks of silence and doing nothing," she said with brows arched. I raised my head slowly and stared at her. "You need to understand that Dac is after me. I don't think I would be safe anymore than I am right now, Janet. I need to figure out what I really am." Janet smiled, her feet echoing as she walked closer towards me. "You are not just anyone, Dan. You are from a powerful bloodline, and you need to stop treating yourself like an imposter. Dac and Almond should be scared of you and not the o
The trap
Gerald’s breath hitched the moment the gun touched the polished surface of the table. The soft click of metal against marble sounded louder than it should have—like a final verdict. No one moved. No one dared to.Linda’s fingers tightened around her mother’s arm until her knuckles turned white. Penelope winced slightly but didn’t pull away. Her eyes were fixed on the weapon, then slowly lifted to Dac’s face—searching, pleading, trying to find the man she once believed her daughter had married. The man who single-handedly helped when Daniel was breathing down on their neck real hard. But the man standing before them now… felt like a stranger.Dac leaned back slightly, his expression calm, almost amused, as though he were watching a performance instead of orchestrating one.“Well?” he said, his voice smooth. “I believe it’s your turn to explain, Gerald.”Gerald swallowed hard. His mind raced, scrambling for something—anything—that could pull them out of this situation without bloodshe
