I was still in shock. It all happened to fast. The loud sound of the camera shutters and the way media's swarm across to take exclusive pictures.

One of the reporters moved closer, " A question Mr Dan Donald." he said quickly shoving the microphone in my face.

My guards looked at me and I nodded.

" Ain't you married to Linda Sinclair? What happened between you two?" he asked

I looked at him and back at the camera. "She thought I was useless. A thrash to be discarded but now, I am going to make her realise what she lost." I said with a grin.

" Are you saying you are getting revenge against her family?" he asked again

" No. I am going to make them pay for humiliating me. For making me feel worthless and for everything I had been through for the last ten years. They are going to feel my pain."

Those were my last words before I got into the car and zoomed off into the night.

I looked at my personal assistant who smiled. " You did good out there sir." she said with a smile. " Here is the R&B contract you asked for. The company delayed it execution the moment they heard you requested for it."

I nodded.

"Tell them I am taking over the contract." I said looking out of the window.

" Noted sir." Lauren said making a call.

It felt good to be in control. To trample on those who thought they could humiliate me.

The moment I got back home, I met my father waiting. He hugged me the moment he saw me.

" You did good, Son. You are indeed a Donald." he said with a smile.

I nodded.

" You don't look happy."

" Hmmm." Donald nodded. " That's because I have something to tell you." he said slowly walking to a chair. " Sit, Son."

I knew too well something was wrong but then, I was so immerse in my own revenge plan that I barely give meaning to what I saw.

The room was tense for a bit.

Donald coughed. Grabbed a cup of water.

" I am dying, son."

My world turned. It was like I was hearing the impossible. I nearly collapsed.

" You are joking right?" I asked

Mac Donald looked at me and shook his head slightly. " I am not, Son. I am dying of cancer and I fear that I don't have too much time."

His words were unexpected. I was just about showing off my new power and also my status and now this.

I don't know if I was being selfish about all of this.

" Are you sure, Father? Maybe the doctors are wrong about it. Maybe we can fly you overseas. Get the best doctor or even go to India...."

Donald raised his hands for a bit. He coughed again and blood spluttered from his mouth.

" Jesus Christ!" I shouted, grabbing an handkerchief.

" I am sorry,Son. I don't mean to drop this on you but thing are going to get tough from now on. You might have gotten my name but then, you need to show the rest of the family you are more than what they think you are."

I don't need to be told what he meant. I already knew.

" I know you are taking your revenge against the Sinclair's. I am happy you are finally doing that on my behalf." Donald said again, his hand covering his mouth as he coughed yet again.

" What do you mean, Father?" I asked

" There is no time, Son. You are going to be a great man. Someone greater than I am but then you need to be firm and courageous. My family never accepted you. You need to show them you are a ruler and make the fear you."

Tears welled my eyes. His words were more of a farewell than a speech. I could see my father was not going to make it for so long.

" Is there nothing that we can do?" I asked sniffling

" Stage four cancer, Dan. There is nothing the doctors can do now." Donald replied

The room went into silent.

" What do I do to make any of this better, Father?" I asked.

Donald smiled.

" Get me my cigar." he said slowly.

I was a bit taken back. Donald has never asked me if anything. I slowly stood up and went over to the centre table. I grabbed the cigar and gave it to him.

I watched as he lit it up and puff out the smoke. He looked more of a mafia boss than an actual gentle man.

" Make the Sinclair pay for everything, Dan. If you need any help, you can ask my personal assistant. He knows everything. Don't worry, I am with you even after my death."

I stood up and walked over to my father and hugged him. It was more of a parting hug than an actual one.

He had not only given me his last name but he has added power, fame and money to it.

" Good night, Son." he said slowly getting up.

As I watched him walk away, my phone rang.

Incoming call ; Lauren

" Talk to me Lauren. What do they say?" I asked with the phone glued to my ears.

" They are not only going to give us the contract but they are going to make the person who duplicated the contract pay." Lauren replied

I felt shocked.

" Someone forge the contract?" I asked

" Yes."

I don't need to be told. I could guess who did. " Thank you Lauren. Report to me as early as possible tomorrow. We are paying the Sinclair's a visit." I said with a wide grin.

  • DEAL WITH THE DEVIL

Janet’s head snapped toward me so fast that strands of hair fell across her face.“Deal?” she repeated, her voice low and dangerous. “You made a deal with him without even asking me?”I did not answer immediately.Because the truth was simple. If I started thinking too much, I would realize I had just shaken hands with the kind of man I was not supposed to trust.Almond smiled slowly and stretched out his hand. “Wise choice, boy.”I stared at his palm for a second before taking it.The moment our hands touched, something cold ran through me.Not fear.Warning.Laura looked up from the laptop and laughed softly. “Congratulations. We are officially working with snakes.”Janet folded her arms. “Speak for yourself.”Almond ignored the tension and turned toward Laura. “How long?”“Give me ten minutes.”“You have five.”Laura rolled her eyes and continued typing. The room returned to silence except for the rapid tapping of keys.I walked toward Janet. She stepped back.“You’re angry.”“I’m

  • DANIEL THE GREAT!

I looked at Almost and back at Laura. I was not really sure if telling them what I knew was the right thing to do. "How did you know I was here?" I asked, staring at him."This house has a tracer. The moment you got here, I was alerted." Almost replied Janet stared at Laura, who seems to be more interested in me. "When did you find out your blood heals?" she asked I didn't feel like answering her question. Laura had betrayed my trust in her, so talking to her felt awkward. "Why do you care?" Janet answered back immediately with a feisty tone. "Don't you think we are allies for a second?" Laura laughed. "You really think a man like Daniel is meant for someone like you?" Laura said back. The room felt tense. "He is my husband. We are bound legally," Janet fired back. I immediately walked into the midst of them. "Back off, Laura. The only reason you are here is because I have no other place to crash. What we have going on is a simple understanding. You scratch our backs, and we

  • THE BLOOD SAGA

Almond’s question hung in the air like a blade suspended by a thread. “And whose blood is this?” For a split second, no one moved. Janet reacted first. She let out a sharp breath, too quick, too forced, and stepped forward before I could say anything. “It’s nothing,” she said, waving her hand dismissively. “I cut myself earlier. Broken glass.” Almond didn’t look convinced. His eyes dropped back to the floor, tracing the scattered crimson droplets. Then slowly, deliberately, he crouched down. Two fingers brushed against the stain, rubbing it thoughtfully. I felt my pulse spike. Too much blood. Way too much for a “small cut.” “Broken glass?” he repeated quietly. Janet crossed her arms, forcing a shrug. “Yeah. From the kitchen. I cleaned most of it already.” “Most,” Almond echoed. Laura shifted near the doorway, her gaze flicking between all of us. She wasn’t speaking, but she was watching. I stepped forward, inserting myself between Almond and the rest of the

  • JANET SCARED

Janet and I froze where we stood, our eyes fixed on the aquarium. The little golden fish darted wildly through the water as if nothing had happened. It swam in frantic circles, bumping into the glass before suddenly going still near the bottom. Its tiny body twitched once... then it slowly rose again and glided upward.Alive.Truly alive.Janet turned to me so sharply the chair behind her nearly tipped over."What the hell are you?" she whispered.I wish I had an answer. My palm still bled from the cut. Blood dripped onto the floor in soft red taps. Yet I barely felt the pain anymore. The wound was already closing. Flesh knitting itself together before our eyes.Janet stumbled backward."No..." she muttered. "No, no, no..."She grabbed my wrist and raised my hand to the light. The cut that had been deep enough to expose skin beneath was now nothing more than a thin pink line. Her fingers trembled."You heal too?""I don't know.""You brought me back. "You brought a fish back. And now

  • A HEALING BLOOD

Things haven't been the same ever since I woke up back to life. I could tell Janet was going to figure it out anytime soon, but then, I have to understand what I am. The only way to do that was the book. I have to get it back from Dac. I had to find it, but I didn't risk letting him know I was alive. I knew that by now. Janet, on the other hand, was freaking out. She walked into my room, her body inclining against the door. "What is your plan, Dan? We can stay in hiding. "This is now two weeks of silence and doing nothing," she said with brows arched. I raised my head slowly and stared at her. "You need to understand that Dac is after me. I don't think I would be safe anymore than I am right now, Janet. I need to figure out what I really am." Janet smiled, her feet echoing as she walked closer towards me. "You are not just anyone, Dan. You are from a powerful bloodline, and you need to stop treating yourself like an imposter. Dac and Almond should be scared of you and not the o

  • The trap

Gerald’s breath hitched the moment the gun touched the polished surface of the table. The soft click of metal against marble sounded louder than it should have—like a final verdict. No one moved. No one dared to.Linda’s fingers tightened around her mother’s arm until her knuckles turned white. Penelope winced slightly but didn’t pull away. Her eyes were fixed on the weapon, then slowly lifted to Dac’s face—searching, pleading, trying to find the man she once believed her daughter had married. The man who single-handedly helped when Daniel was breathing down on their neck real hard. But the man standing before them now… felt like a stranger.Dac leaned back slightly, his expression calm, almost amused, as though he were watching a performance instead of orchestrating one.“Well?” he said, his voice smooth. “I believe it’s your turn to explain, Gerald.”Gerald swallowed hard. His mind raced, scrambling for something—anything—that could pull them out of this situation without bloodshe
