I was sure Linda and her family were slowly going to have realised what hit them by now.

I didn't only took away their hope but I took something else. I made sure all their existing contract was stopped.

It was a clear message they were not really going to expect.

I woke up very early the following day. The R&B contract was going to be announced that morning.

I woke up but still, I felt like I was missing something very important. My mind went back to what my father had told me. Whatever he meant that night means war was coming.

I need to be ready but first, Linda and her family were going to bow at my feet. I was going to make them.

I heard a knock on my door, making me flinch alittle.

" Who is that?" I said gently getting out of bed.

" Laura."

Her voice was hard to miss. Ever since she was assigned to me, I had loved her. Laura was efficient and she does things without me telling her too.

" Come in." I said walking towards the golden sunlight that filtered through the curtains.

" They are waiting for you, Sir. The R&B company won't start the programme without you." Laura said with a smile

" Ah! That good. Let them wait." I said, walking past her.

" How is my father?" I asked, raising my brows.

" In bed, Mr Donald. He specifically asked the servants not to disturb him." Laura added.

" Good. Why don't we start the day by making the Sinclair know who I really am. Pick my outfit."

I let out a smile and paused immediately I reached the bathroom entrance. " Laura, I want something nice and catchy."

Laura laughed. " Of course sir."

[ At the Sinclair's mansion ]

Linda looked at Maxwell who was now her husband. " Oh my god, Max!" she yelled, clutching her hands in her palms.

" I can't believe you lied about he contract!" Linda smirked.

Her noise was about bringing down the roof of he house.

" The Donald's has it now." Maxwell said shaking his head slightly. " That is not the issue now. We are being summoned."

" What? What do you mean we? You did this, Maxwell! I want no part in it." Linda screamed.

" Really? Your father gave you to me because I gave him what he asked for. I gave him the R&B contact even though the document was forge it was suppose to give you what you had always wanted. Money."

SLAP!

Linda's hand flew across his face the moment he finished his words. " You ruined my marriage and here you are telling me this gibberish!"

Maxwell was about to talk when the door flew open.

Linda's family walked in looking scared and dejected. " Have you heard the news?" Lucas said looking at his sister.

" No! What about it?" Linda asked

" More problem, Linda. Your so called husband here is in for a long time problem and be just dragged us into it." Penelope replied.

Linda arched her brows. " What do you mean, Mother?"

Gerald got to his feet. " We are fucked. All existing contracts are gone. Dan make sure to pull every string. Called ever company, every managing directors. They took everything, Linda."

" Everything?" Linda asked with a shaky breath.

" Everything!" Gerald snapped.

The room went silent at his last words. The Sinclair had always been one of the powerful elite in the society but with them cut off, it was only a matter of time before they thrive.

" What do we do, Father?" Linda asked, her lips visibly shaking.

Penelope looked at her face and rushed to her. " We have to go back to Dan. We are going to fall on our knees and beg him."

" What?" Maxwell said in anger. His hands clenched. "And what about me? Do I need to remind you that, Linda is mine by law?"

Gerald walked to his front, " Fuck the law! Did you think about that before you went ahead to forge me a fucking document? What do you think is going to happen? That I am going to side with you and let you have things your way?"

Maxwell rubbed his temple. " Then give me time to fix this. I am going to make sure this didn't blow in our face."

Everyone watched as Maxwell marched out of the house while Linda fell down to the floor sobbing real hard.

________

" Are we ready?" I asked, staring at Linda.

" Are you asking me this because you look nervous, Sir." Linda smiled.

" Do I look nervous?"

I stammered a bit trying to joing my words. The R&B contract wasn't just any contract. It was a contract many sole company's had fought for.

But now, it was going to be mine in a few hours.

No.

Few minutes actually. I looked a the ma I had become in the mirror and let out a sigh. I was not longer Dan the crippled.

I was something more. Someone more powerful.

" Call the Sinclair and ask them to meet me at the company now!" I commanded

Laura bowed.

We were about walking out of the door when I heard a loud scream.

I rushed towards my father's room but what I saw made me feel light headed.

In front of me was his corpse with three bullet holes in his chest.

  • DEAL WITH THE DEVIL

Janet’s head snapped toward me so fast that strands of hair fell across her face.“Deal?” she repeated, her voice low and dangerous. “You made a deal with him without even asking me?”I did not answer immediately.Because the truth was simple. If I started thinking too much, I would realize I had just shaken hands with the kind of man I was not supposed to trust.Almond smiled slowly and stretched out his hand. “Wise choice, boy.”I stared at his palm for a second before taking it.The moment our hands touched, something cold ran through me.Not fear.Warning.Laura looked up from the laptop and laughed softly. “Congratulations. We are officially working with snakes.”Janet folded her arms. “Speak for yourself.”Almond ignored the tension and turned toward Laura. “How long?”“Give me ten minutes.”“You have five.”Laura rolled her eyes and continued typing. The room returned to silence except for the rapid tapping of keys.I walked toward Janet. She stepped back.“You’re angry.”“I’m

  • DANIEL THE GREAT!

I looked at Almost and back at Laura. I was not really sure if telling them what I knew was the right thing to do. "How did you know I was here?" I asked, staring at him."This house has a tracer. The moment you got here, I was alerted." Almost replied Janet stared at Laura, who seems to be more interested in me. "When did you find out your blood heals?" she asked I didn't feel like answering her question. Laura had betrayed my trust in her, so talking to her felt awkward. "Why do you care?" Janet answered back immediately with a feisty tone. "Don't you think we are allies for a second?" Laura laughed. "You really think a man like Daniel is meant for someone like you?" Laura said back. The room felt tense. "He is my husband. We are bound legally," Janet fired back. I immediately walked into the midst of them. "Back off, Laura. The only reason you are here is because I have no other place to crash. What we have going on is a simple understanding. You scratch our backs, and we

  • THE BLOOD SAGA

Almond’s question hung in the air like a blade suspended by a thread. “And whose blood is this?” For a split second, no one moved. Janet reacted first. She let out a sharp breath, too quick, too forced, and stepped forward before I could say anything. “It’s nothing,” she said, waving her hand dismissively. “I cut myself earlier. Broken glass.” Almond didn’t look convinced. His eyes dropped back to the floor, tracing the scattered crimson droplets. Then slowly, deliberately, he crouched down. Two fingers brushed against the stain, rubbing it thoughtfully. I felt my pulse spike. Too much blood. Way too much for a “small cut.” “Broken glass?” he repeated quietly. Janet crossed her arms, forcing a shrug. “Yeah. From the kitchen. I cleaned most of it already.” “Most,” Almond echoed. Laura shifted near the doorway, her gaze flicking between all of us. She wasn’t speaking, but she was watching. I stepped forward, inserting myself between Almond and the rest of the

  • JANET SCARED

Janet and I froze where we stood, our eyes fixed on the aquarium. The little golden fish darted wildly through the water as if nothing had happened. It swam in frantic circles, bumping into the glass before suddenly going still near the bottom. Its tiny body twitched once... then it slowly rose again and glided upward.Alive.Truly alive.Janet turned to me so sharply the chair behind her nearly tipped over."What the hell are you?" she whispered.I wish I had an answer. My palm still bled from the cut. Blood dripped onto the floor in soft red taps. Yet I barely felt the pain anymore. The wound was already closing. Flesh knitting itself together before our eyes.Janet stumbled backward."No..." she muttered. "No, no, no..."She grabbed my wrist and raised my hand to the light. The cut that had been deep enough to expose skin beneath was now nothing more than a thin pink line. Her fingers trembled."You heal too?""I don't know.""You brought me back. "You brought a fish back. And now

  • A HEALING BLOOD

Things haven't been the same ever since I woke up back to life. I could tell Janet was going to figure it out anytime soon, but then, I have to understand what I am. The only way to do that was the book. I have to get it back from Dac. I had to find it, but I didn't risk letting him know I was alive. I knew that by now. Janet, on the other hand, was freaking out. She walked into my room, her body inclining against the door. "What is your plan, Dan? We can stay in hiding. "This is now two weeks of silence and doing nothing," she said with brows arched. I raised my head slowly and stared at her. "You need to understand that Dac is after me. I don't think I would be safe anymore than I am right now, Janet. I need to figure out what I really am." Janet smiled, her feet echoing as she walked closer towards me. "You are not just anyone, Dan. You are from a powerful bloodline, and you need to stop treating yourself like an imposter. Dac and Almond should be scared of you and not the o

  • The trap

Gerald’s breath hitched the moment the gun touched the polished surface of the table. The soft click of metal against marble sounded louder than it should have—like a final verdict. No one moved. No one dared to.Linda’s fingers tightened around her mother’s arm until her knuckles turned white. Penelope winced slightly but didn’t pull away. Her eyes were fixed on the weapon, then slowly lifted to Dac’s face—searching, pleading, trying to find the man she once believed her daughter had married. The man who single-handedly helped when Daniel was breathing down on their neck real hard. But the man standing before them now… felt like a stranger.Dac leaned back slightly, his expression calm, almost amused, as though he were watching a performance instead of orchestrating one.“Well?” he said, his voice smooth. “I believe it’s your turn to explain, Gerald.”Gerald swallowed hard. His mind raced, scrambling for something—anything—that could pull them out of this situation without bloodshe
