Underneath the corrupted sky, bearing down on an isolated neighborhood with buildings reduced to rubble and others left to tell their final stories.
Down the streets, a figure with glowing crimson eyes and hands bathed in crimson energy stood in the middle of what appeared to be a tidal wave of horror.
All around him lay a carpet of mangled limbs and shattered skulls—the leftovers of the 100-zombie horde he had just dismantled with undeniable efficiency.
A few minutes ago, he'd been surrounded with no hope for survival. But something primal had taken over. His instincts flared. Within minutes, something shifted inside him, and he'd become the predator on the field.
Slowly, the lights in his eyes dimmed. A wave of disorientation overwhelmed him.
"What happened?"
He didn't recall.

Alexander shook his head. He looked down and felt his blood turn cold. A moment ago, he'd been surrounded by teeth and claws. Now, beneath him, all the zombies he thought would tear him apart were scattered and broken.
How was that even possible?

Alexander hummed while he wiped black gore from his cheek. Everything felt realistically unreal because he wasn't the one that killed the zombies. Something else had. Something inside him.
[ Where will the host like to place his 12 stat points? ]
The cold, mechanical voice rang in his ear. "Argh. I don't even know. Let me think for a bit!"

"Scrap!" Alexander dragged his hand through his hair. "Please stop!"
[ Remark: Host is such a baby! ]
Alexander's face reddened with embarrassment. He let out a frustrated huff and worked through his troubled mind. He closed his eyes, exhaled softly, and made a decision.
"Six stat points to Strength and six stat points to Speed."

Alexander sighed. The only changes were his stats, level, and mana residue. His gaze fixed on one thing: Mana Residue. As if he were psychic, he mentally clicked it, and a tab expanded.
[ MANA RESIDUE/CAPACITY ]
[ Mana is the source of host capabilities. 100% maxed means the host has a palpable amount of mana to complete hostile missions. When lower, or going beyond a certain percentage, host will experience a primal state of hunger for mana... ]
...
[ CONTENT LOCKED - INSUFFICIENT CLEARANCE ]
"So that means whatever happened, I used mana. But I don't remember it. And what the hell does 'primal state of hunger for mana' mean?" He tried to access the rest, but the system locked him out completely.
"Great. Now I have to figure out what happened and how I was able to fight a ton of zombies and end up not remembering any of it."
With that, he turned on his heel and began moving, testing his new stats. For a moment, Alexander felt a rough change in his body. The boost was immediate—sharper reflexes, faster movement, stronger muscles. An average human wouldn't be able to keep up with him now.
He came to a sharp halt and applied pressure to the asphalt beneath his feet. Cracks spiderwebbed across the surface from the force alone. When he was satisfied, he crouched low.
Then he released it.
The explosion of force launched him upward and forward simultaneously. The world blurred around him—ruined buildings, demolished streets, scorched earth all becoming streaks of color. Wind screamed past his ears as his body accelerated to speeds that defied normal human capability.
For three seconds, he flew.
Impact came hard and fast.
The ground cratered beneath him, the shockwave radiating outward with enough force to topple trees and demolish what little remained of the surrounding forest. Smoke and dust erupted into the sickly yellow sky. He stepped out of the crater, brushing debris from his clothes.
When he looked ahead, disappointment smeared his face. "Still no sight of the main city."
He was about to prepare another jump when—

Alexander frowned. "How am I supposed to get to the main city if I don't move fast?"
[ Aren't you a man? I heard men of Earth always seem to prove they are the superior species to women? ]
"You're telling me to walk all the way to the main city?"
[ Maybe swim? ]
"Hell no! That's fucking diabolical!"
[ Weak! ]
"That's it!" Alexander snapped, getting into a fighting stance. "Come on out! I promise I'll beat you to a pulp! Come out!"
[ Why should I fight someone who almost died from his first encounter with a single zombie? You're such a pathetic host! ]

CH. 07: The Vanguard Command Strike Team
CHAPTER 7 …Morning pierced through the darkness like a raging blade. The sickly yellowish hue had also returned to the sky.Trevor and Lyssa were fast asleep in an awkward, sensual position—tangled together like they'd collapsed mid-embrace.It wasn't long before Trevor woke.[ Ding! ]...[ Note: System is impressed ]...[ Remark: The host has Lyssa Kent wrapped around his fingers. The host is ten times better than the former occupant! ]…Trevor wasn't sure what to say. He'd had a long night with Lyssa. After their first release, he'd kept going until neither could move anymore.Lyssa woke soon enough, still looking sleepy but completely attentive to him. She rested on his chest, her hands searching for his length. She felt him hardening and wanted to stroke him, but Trevor stopped her with a deep kiss. When he pulled back, he noticed she'd slumped back into sleep. Was she dreaming?Trevor couldn't ignore the obvious: they were both naked. They needed clothes. He checked the sy

Trevor's breath caught in his throat. His eyes snapped open.Beside him, Lyssa slept soundly, completely unaware of the system's revelation. And beside her, in the confines of this small tent, Trevor felt it—the first stirrings of something primal awakening inside him. Something hungry. Something he couldn't control. The night was going to be long if he didn't find a way to stop it. Why on earth would he mate with Lyssa? His hand moved against his will. It reached for her waist and jerked her into his embrace without permission."Oh my, Trevor... what are you doing?" she asked, her face flushed red with embarrassment. She'd been feeling cold, but the moment he pulled her against him, an unexplainable heat radiated from his body, warming her completely."I'm not sure... I'm sorry! I'm really sorry." He apologized, completely embarrassed by his actions. His pants began to tighten as his body reacted without his consent.Lyssa felt it. The hardness pressed against her. She wasn't sure ho

Trees gradually fell.Birds withered to dust. The air grew colder and harsher to breathe. The sky itself—once smeared with that sickly yellowish hue—was now replaced by a dark purple, brandished by the repeated roaring of thunderstorms. The house that had remained untouched by the demolition was now reduced to a pile of rubble. But that wasn't all.Under the chaotic skies, greater forces were at play. The Void Walker—about 18.7 meters tall—brought its massive hand down to snatch Lyssa in her vulnerable state. She was still slumped in the corner, certain she couldn't dodge death this time around. But an absurd halt jolted her eyes open.If her calculations were right, she should have been dead the moment the Void Walker ripped the ceiling open. It shouldn't have wasted time scrambling her vulnerable body. She looked up and saw something—someone—blocking the mighty hand of the Void Walker with a broadsword. CH. 04 : Lyssa Kent
Alexander received a map from the system. A green dot emanated ahead, with a bunch of red dots grouped together. No one needed to tell him the red dots were the zombies and the green dot was the girl he needed to save. The sound was close, but the distance felt far. He bolted from his position, moving with incredible speed that left him bewildered by his own capability. With a single thrust, he leapt again—this time with no mana, just raw physical force.… Snapping jaws bared at the innocent girl with a slim build. She moved backward, her body vibrating vigorously. She wanted the ground to open up and swallow her whole.Tears trickled down her face. Her shoulder-length dark ash hair with soft layered bangs framed her terrified gaze. Her sharp, gentle eyes—glowing faintly with neon-green light—never left the zombies closing in on her. Behind her was a cliff. Down the line was a waterfall, and she knew it. Each step backward as the zombies drew closer meant one step closer to the ed
