Benjamin swallowed hard. Director Jack's words were concise— Clean threat wrapped under deal and promise— Betray the job and I'll have your head for it.

A slight smile tugged at the corner of Benjamin's lips.

This was him— What he knew how to do best. Benjamin is a pervert. The kind of man that changes woman every day with no special stings attached.

The same reason he got tanked in prison after three years ago was because he banged a woman till she lost her damn breath on the bed.

A s*xual machine, born Casanova. Regardless of his dry bank account, he was a woman charmer with his handsome appearance and perfect posture.

Sigh.

Truly, which woman won't fall for Benjamin Vic. Even men drooled over him.

And frankly, it'll be hard, almost impossible for a hard hearted crook like Benjamin to fall in love. Love is shit to him!

And he was going to get paid for something he knew just how to do best. Benjamin's smile was sharp now— a glass cutting grin that spoke of confidence.

"$30,000 per week." Director Jack had said.

With no hesitations. No second guessing. He signed the deal. Deal of no affection. He'd been convicted five years for hard drugs and sexual violence.

This was freedom— Another chance to start afresh on a high level.

Director Jack leaned in, elaborating with a firm business tone.

"You're living another life now, Benjamin Vic. Not the ex- convict. Not as the pauper Benjamin.

You're someone more than that now," He Said. "You're the rich charming dude whose mission is to trap the heart of the star— Lisa." He paused, leaning back slightly.

"Everything will be taken care of for this mission; Apartment, ensembles, everything needed to make your job smooth. You'll have it. Just make Lisa your puppet.

Benjamin nodded thoughtfully, a light smirk tugging his lips.

"You have my words, Director," He said in assurance. "I'll handle the job efficiently."

"Good." Jack stood up and extended his hand. Benjamin fixed his palm as they shook firmly. "Kyra will handle the rest from here. You may leave."

As Benjamin walked to the door." Benjamin," The Director calls him back. Benjamin turned. "Another important thing is you must keep inspiring her to shine in her career after she gets to trust you."

Benjamin nodded, her grin sharp and sly. "Comprehended, Sir."

*******

Amos Voss stood in a control Hall. Computers and a large screen glowed on the wall, displaying maps and locations. The faint beeping of high-end tech devices rippled the room.

Bowing in his front were Ten Men dressed in a crisp black suits. At the front was Ms. Maggie, the young butler of the Voss family. She's Twenty five, her hair cut low, posture upright like a stake. She looks both professional and gorgeous. She doesn't walk around without having her licensed pistol tucked inside of her suit.

She bowed in front of Amos. "Master Amos," She said. "We're happy to have you back home, Sir. We have been waiting for this moment for a long time." She said respectfully.

Amos' eyes narrowed in confusion. "What are you all talking about? First. It was the doctor. And now. You. What master?"

Ms. Maggie lifted her head gently. "Master Amos," She began gently. "You're in the South Montelara Wing. We saved you yesterday the previous night from the main city."

"This place belongs to you now. All of it. It was your father's inheritance."

Amos's mind froze. For some moments, he couldn't process anything what he'd just heard as the revelation was too surreal.

Amos had heard about Montelara. Everyone had— The province which controls the 70% economical affairs of the world . Rumours, a matter of fact was that, south Montelara province is even more powerful than most countries seen as powerful to the world.

Secret war machineries, natural resources with billions, Trillions, known only to the king of the Montelara south

And that place belonged to his father....and now to him. One fascinating joke? or an astonishing dream?

His eyes narrowed on Maggie "What are you talking about? Father? I had a father?" Disbelief and confusion dripped in his voice.

Maggie nodded with a light smile. "Yes, Master," She said. "Your father, Montelara Voss took you to live with your maternal grandmother in a small city at a little age. Montelara was in battle with the next city, Kessler to protect our resources.

To ensure your safety, your father took you to your Grandmother's place in the main city."

He was concerned about you, but that was the only way to keep you safe. Even when he knew you could handle things on your own at your matured age, he still wanted to keep you away because he knew his enemies would be watching, and they might eventually find you."

Amos felt weakened by the story he never knew about himself. He grew up, living with an old woman called Mrs. George. He never knew the woman was his grandmother. Not even did she reveal anything to him before she died on the sick bed.

Amos felt bad for not being able to see his father, and also he could have treated Mrs. George even more nicely than he did.

"What about my mother?" He asked, his voice low, slightly tingled with emotions.

Maggie took a few seconds before answering. "Your father told me she died while giving birth to you, Master. That was 25 years Ago." She said.

Amos' heart tightened, his heart burning with emotions— He felt a vacuum inside. He'd sometimes imagine how it feels to have a mother, and a father. But they were gone before he knew any of them.

Even when he didn't know his mother, he could only imagine the pain she'd passed through while giving birth to him which led to her death.

The only family Amos had now was Rose, and she's missing, taken by some bandits. He was powerless the previous night, but now a whole province was under his command.

He was the King of the south.

Amos had been looked down upon all his life because he had nothing.

He was Zero, but now he's Billion!

And he'll do everything to find his daughter.

With the resolve, Amos turned to Maggie and spoke with a voice tight with command and authority. "I need all the men working. Now. I need surveillance. Eyes all over every hole in the city. Scrap everywhere to the root. I want my daughter's location scourged before the next three hours!"

"Yes, Sir!" Maggie spun to the men. " Get working now, everyone!" The hall buzzed, keyboards clattering, screens booting.

Amos stood at the back, hands crossed behind his back, his eyes darting from one screen on the wall to the next.

As the search went on in the background, Kyra approached his master. "Master Amos, will you like for me to broadcast you as the new leaders of South Montelara now? We want the world to know that we have a new leader now.

Recently, we've been receiving attacks on our people. Maybe the news of your ascension will fear the attackers and stop the killing."

Amos looked at her, his mind working faster and sharper than usual.

He glanced at Maggie. "Let's keep everything low for now," He said. "What's the essence of broadcasting my face to the world? It won't stop the attackers. Let's take action. Action will give them the clue that a new leader has emerged."

Maggie smiled slightly in admiration of his words, nodding her head in agreement.

"Montelara is about to witness the reign of a powerful leader." She muttered under her breath, her grin sharp

  • The master is home!

Beep. beep. beep... The continuous beeping sound rippled though the otherwise quiet room. The wall was painted white, the temperature cool and cozy, making the ambience a mix of wealth, and a room of survival. At the corner of the room is a bed with a man laid face up, seemingly unconscious in a white hospital wear. An IV tube snaked to his arm, passing in blood into his body. His right leg was wrapped with a bandage. Clean and professional. Amos Voss. Amos' finger twitched at the side, then his eyes gently fluttered open. He squeezed his eyes shut against the harsh ray of the roof light. Again, he opened his eyes, recovering his sight to see a white roof. The smell of antiseptic hit his nose, sharp. His eyes narrowed in confusion. This... The roof was too clean to belong to Bobo flex cramped apartment. Was this heaven? And the smell in the air was sharp sterile. It wasn't the usual smell of dust and smoke. "Where am I?" He mumbled, his thoughts spiralling. Amos pushed him

She nestled on his father's shoulder, his skin pale and stiff as a ghost, shivering feverishly in the harsh cold. The cruel realization that Lisa was the one behind their evacuation shows just how deep her hatred for them had deepened. Wasn't she the same kid she harboured in her belly for nine months? She was her kin, her blood. Blood is thicker than water they say, but Lisa had pooled the bank with venom, turning blood into poison. adulterated. Toxic. Rose is nothing to her but a cruel regret. She'd spilled the words without any ounce of hesitation or guilt. Lisa had flashed her clout— to tell Amos— 'you're nothing without me.' 9. P.m The rain was dropping so heavy, pattering against rooftops, slamming loose windows hard.
