Max fell silent for a moment after hearing the girl's confession.

He took a deep breath and said softly, "If you know that could get you in trouble with the law, never sell that poisoned tea again."

Then he took out his phone. "Tell me your account number."

The girl looked at him, confused. "For what?"

"Hurry," Max replied curtly.

Hesitantly, she gave him the number. Within seconds, a notification sounded on her phone.

Her eyes widened in disbelief when she saw the amount that had arrived: $3000 USD.

"Y-you sent it by mistake?" her voice trembled.

"No," Max answered calmly. "Use that money to pay rent and buy what you need."

"But remember one thing, never sell poisoned tea again, or anything that could hurt other people."

"Find an honest job. You are still young."

Without waiting for a reply, Max turned and began to walk away, leaving the girl frozen in place.

But after only a few steps, the girl ran after him.

"Sir, wait!" she panted. "Please let me come with you!"

Aston was the name he hid behind his new human identity. He took a slow breath, trying to keep the innocent expression he had practiced for years. Thin, polite, not threatening. The typical face of a disguised demon. “Sorry, but I do not understand,” he said in the calmest voice he could make. “I am only a new lecturer here. I do not know what you mean by a demon cult member.” He even gave a faint smile, as if he was truly confused. “Or is it some kind of campus metal organization? Maybe a new music club?” He played his role very well. Max stared at Aston’s face for a few seconds to judge, measure, and look straight into the depths of a soul wrapped in lies and ancient sins. The corner of his mouth lifted a little. “Well,” Max said quietly. “All demons are like that.” A subtle change passed through the atmosphere around them. As if the air between them tightened, waiting, watching two different beings stand face to face. “Demons are always good at lying,” Max continued. Aston

Max’s car slowed down, the large tires scraping against the stone corridor of the campus, which reflected a soft purple-silver glow from the evening sky. Aurora felt a breeze pass by, carrying a familiar scent, Max’s scent, just before the car door opened. Max stepped out of the driver’s seat with steady steps, his posture firm and his shadow stretching long across the ground. The moment he removed his sunglasses, his sharp gaze softened as soon as it found Aurora. Without looking at Aston at all, as if the man did not exist, Max pulled his wife into his arms. “My wife,” his voice was deep and warm, like always. “How was your day?” Aurora placed her cheek on her husband’s chest, letting that faint dark fragrance calm her. “Tired…” she whispered softly, both spoiled and honest. “I had so many classes today and the assignments too… I do not know, it feels like my head is about to explode.” Max let out a quiet laugh, a sound only Aurora ever heard. “Then let us escape from all that

The afternoon passed slowly, as if the entire campus was being pressed down by an invisible heat. The white buildings with gold ornaments reflected the sunlight, and hundreds of students walked by with tired faces after the early weeks of the new semester.Aurora moved quickly through the crowd, holding her music theory books against her chest. Her face looked exhausted, not only because of her packed classes, but also because she had spent the past few nights waiting for Max to return from demon hunting. She knew Max would never admit he was tired, but Aurora could see the dark aura that clung to him every time he came back. However, Aurora never told anyone about it, not even Max. She did not know what her husband really did, but she only knew that a dark energy stayed on him, and sometimes she quietly cleaned it away.Today, she only wanted to sit, breathe, and maybe drink something sweet in the cafeteria while waiting for Max to pick her up.But her steps stopped when a tall ma

In Vesula, Max’s house was no longer just a place to live. After the conquest of the Alken Mountains and the ten grandmasters kneeling to him, Max turned one of his large buildings in the city center into a headquarters for the grandmasters. The building was tall and strong, and all of its floors were modified into training rooms, strategy rooms, and resting areas for the senior grandmasters.Takeshi stood on the balcony of the seventh floor, looking at the bright city lights of Vesula that hid darkness behind its alleys."This is a big city," Takeshi muttered. "And we have many demons to hunt."Max stood beside him, arms folded, his face cold and focused. "Starting tonight, we will not wait for them to attack. We will be the ones hunting."That night, Vesula became a slaughter ground for the members of the Demon Cult. The mid generation grandmasters, men in their forties to their sixties who still had strength, speed, and sharp instincts, spread across the entire city. They moved li

In a dark valley that had never been touched by sunlight, where black stones released blood-red steam, a winged creature rushed downward. Hot wind swirled as it landed, creating a circle of black dust on the ground. The creature had a human face, pale and long, but its eyes were red like burning coals. From the waist down, its body turned into the legs of a demon with sharp claws that bent backward like a horse. Large black wings pulsed on its back.He was Astarion, the best spy of the Demon Cult.He knelt deeply before a figure standing on an obsidian rock. The figure was tall… very tall. More than two meters. His body was covered in a dark black robe, and his face was hidden under a leather mask that looked like it was stitched from human faces.A low hissing sound came from behind the mask."Report."Astarion bowed even lower. "Demon Prince, I have returned with important news. Very important."The masked figure, called Demon Prince Varak, turned slowly. The pressure of his dark au

Max let go of Takeshi’s hand, then took one step forward. His voice, usually flat, now carried a cold fire that made the air in the arena feel sharp like ice."Enough with the formalities," he said firmly. "Now listen carefully. I did not come to Mount Alken to take positions or take your seniority." "I came for one reason to invite you to destroy the Demon Blood Cult that has ruled for far too long."Even the name alone changed the faces of the grandmasters. Some clenched their fists until their veins stood out."They kidnapped millions of civilians in the past year," Max continued, his voice even colder. "Children, women, even the elderly. Used as living sacrifices to summon high level demons." "The villages at the base of the mountain are empty. You who call yourselves grandmasters who protect the people, how long will you stay silent?"The respectful silence instantly turned into burning anger. An old grandmaster with a long white beard stood up, his face red. "We... we did n
