Adrian’s chest heaved.

His fists clenched at his sides, veins bulging with the force of barely contained rage.

He stepped forward, his voice echoing like thunder.

“You disgusting pig,” he snarled. “How dare you lay a finger on her?”

Malvin groaned beneath the shattered lamp. He tried to lift himself, but Adrian’s shadow swallowed him whole.

“You will regret this day,” Adrian growled, his voice filled with a promise of doom, “for the rest of your miserable life.”

Before Malvin could even move, Adrian’s fist came crashing down.

CRACK!

The punch landed with incredible force, snapping Malvin’s head sideways. He gasped, choking on his own blood.

Adrian didn’t give him a chance to recover.

Soon could barely move, but she was surprised the kind of rage that engulfed Adrian.

All because of her.

So he cared about her this much?

All her tears had dried up as she watched in victory as Adrian trashed Malvin.

But she had no pity for that worthless pig.

He deserves more than this.

He was lucky she

  • CHAPTER 481

The roar of the engine had turned from a triumphant growl into a terrifying scream. The car didn't slow down; it accelerated, tearing through the grass and smashing through the heavy chain-link fence of the school perimeter like it was made of paper. Metal snapped, and sparks flew, but the car kept going, heading straight for the open construction zone beyond the campus.Inside the cockpit, Clara’s hands were shaking. She fumbled with the dashboard, her heart hammering against her ribs so hard it hurt. She managed to hit the voice-connect on her helmet."Leo! Maya! The brakes are gone! I can’t stop!" she screamed, her voice cracking with terror.Back at the track, Leo’s face went ghostly white as he looked at his tablet. He frantically started typing, his fingers blurred. "Clara, listen to me! Reach under the steering column! There’s a red emergency wire near the ignition—pull it! It should force the fuel pump to shut down!"Clara reached down, her fingers grazing the hot machinery.

  • CHAPTER 480

The starter stepped onto the track, the green flag held high. The world went silent for a heartbeat as the two rivals waited for the drop. The green flag snapped downward, cutting through the tension like a blade. With a scream of tires and a cloud of white smoke, Bianca’s car shot forward. She was a seasoned racer, and she used every bit of her experience to tilt her car inward, instantly cutting off Clara’s path. For the first three laps, Bianca was a wall of steel. Every time Clara tried to peek around the corner, Bianca would swerve, her tires kicking up gravel and dust to blind the girl behind her."Stay back where you belong, Lancaster!" Bianca hissed inside her helmet, watching her rearview mirror with a predatory grin. But inside her own cockpit, Clara wasn't panicking. She closed her eyes for a split second.Suddenly, the world changed. On the final lap, they approached a very sharp turn, so sharp and dangerous that most drivers apply their brakes when they get there.Bia

  • CHAPTER 479

"I don't even have a car here. Bianca has been karting since she was six, and she’s got a custom-tuned Italian engine. There’s no way I’d win. I’d just be giving her another reason to laugh at me.""At least you finally admit it."The voice was like a splash of ice water. Bianca was standing right behind them, flanked by her usual shadow, Chloe. She was dressed in a racing jacket that probably cost more than a mid-sized sedan.Bianca stepped closer, a nasty, sharp smile spreading across her face. "I was wondering when you would finally show her true colors. So, you’re smart at math.""Big deal. But when it comes to real skill—to speed, guts, and actual talent—you’re just another coward hiding behind a library book."Clara didn't turn around immediately. She took a breath, feeling the pendant against her skin grow warm, as if it were responding to the challenge. She slowly turned to face Bianca. "It’s called being realistic, Bianca. I don't need a trophy to know my worth.""No, it's

  • CHAPTER 478

Clara bit her tongue so hard she tasted copper. She knew the "maintenance" was a lie. The school was rigged. She turned on her heel and marched out.During Advanced Calculus class, Clara sat by the window, her chin resting on her hand. She stared out at the trees, her mind replaying the feeling she felt when she pinned Jade. She had never experienced such strength. It felt so natural, so right. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't realize the entire class had gone silent."Miss Lancaster?"The voice of Mr. Sterling, the notoriously difficult math teacher, snapped her back to reality. He stood at the chalkboard, tapping a piece of chalk against a complex equation that looked like a jagged mountain of numbers and symbols."Since you find the clouds more interesting than my lecture, perhaps you can solve this for us?" Mr. Sterling said, a smug smile playing on his lips. From the back of the room, a loud whisper erupted. "She’s probably trying to figure out how to clean the tr

  • CHAPTER 477

Clara took a slow, deliberate step toward Bianca. "Pick it up," she said. Her voice wasn't loud, but it had a strange, vibrating weight to it that silenced the laughing students nearby.Bianca laughed, her eyes widening in mock disbelief. "Excuse me? You want me to touch that filth? You really have lost your mind, Lancaster. Maybe the smell of the trash is making you hallucinate."Jada stepped forward, looming over Clara with a sneer. "You heard the Queen. We don't do chores. But since you’re so fond of garbage, maybe we should just stuff you inside the locker with it. It’s where you belong.""I won't say it again," Clara whispered, her eyes fixed on Bianca. "Clean. This. Up.""Or what?" Chloe chimed in, stepping closer to join the intimidation. "You’ll tell your big, scary brother? You’re pathetic. You’re just a little girl playing hero, and it’s honestly getting boring."Suddenly, Jada snapped. She reached out with a fast, claw-like hand, aiming to grab Clara’s hair and yank her tow

  • CHAPTER 476

"I can handle it, Adrian," she said, her voice trembling with a mix of anger and pride. "It’s just school drama. Don't worry about it."Adrian stared at her for a long time. He saw the fire in her eyes, the raw Lancaster pride that refused to be pampered. He realized that she didn't want him to fight for her; she wanted the power to fight for herself."Wait here," he said quietly. He disappeared into his private study, returning a moment later holding a small, silver box. He opened it to reveal a pendant. It was a shard of dark, shimmering crystal that seemed to glow with a faint, pulsing red light from within. He had been working on it for a while, and he decided it was time for him to give her.It was a fragment of his own Dragon Knife, encased in reinforced silver."You want to handle it? Fine," Adrian said, his voice solemn. "This contains a fragment of my energy. I won't always be around to protect you; you have to learn to defend yourself."Clara reached out, her fingers brush
