Mr. Sylvester didn’t blink. “I want to see your resignation letter on my desk first thing tomorrow morning,” he said coldly. “You are unfit to hold any public office.”

The senator’s wife fell to her knees again, sobbing, her voice shrill and desperate. “We’ll do anything! Please! Don’t ruin us!”

The principal was not spared, he was also dragged away.

But Adrian stood there, unmoved, his face unreadable.

He didn’t say a word.

The officers dragged the couple away until they faded completely.

The entire playground seemed to exhale all at once.

No one dared to speak.

Even the children stared in awe at the man who had just brought down a senator without lifting a finger.

Sophia finally broke the silence. She turned to Adrian, her brows furrowed in disbelief.

“How do you know the minister?” she asked softly.

Before Adrian could speak, Mr. Sylvester stepped forward with a polite smile, saving him from the question. “He helped me out a long time ago,” he said quickly. “I’m only repaying a fav

Her tone hardened like steel. “If you want to chase him away, then you’ll have to chase me away too.” The words landed like a hammer blow. Gerald stammered, “Miss Ivanova… we—this is a misunderstanding. I assure you—” Lilith cut him off with a raised hand. Her eyes narrowed to dangerous slits. “A misunderstanding?” she echoed. “Your guards assaulted my guest. Your family humiliated him on sacred ground. That’s not a misunderstanding, Mr. Aldridge.” She turned her head slighly to Sophia. The air grew heavy. “You lost the right to dictate Mr. Lancaster’s movements,” Lilith said coldly, “the day you threw him away.” Sophia’s lips trembled, but no sound came. Lilith’s eyes glinted, her voice lowering to a deadly whisper. “He is under my wing now. Try to touch him again, and you will learn the true meaning of power.” The silence that followed was suffocating. Then President Ivanov himself stepped forward. His mere presence silenced the entire crowd. His height, his sharp posture,

His expression softened for the first time that day.“I came to say goodbye,” he said quietly. “And they decided to prevent me from entering.”Sophia’s voice shook with fury. “You attacked them! At my father’s memorial!”“They attacked first,” Adrian replied. “I only defended myself.”Rex, clutching his chest, stumbled forward. “Liar! He—”Adrian’s glare silenced him instantly.Gerald stormed out from behind Sophia, his face red with fury and his voice echoed through the courtyard like thunder.“GET OFF OUR PROPERTY!” he roared.“This proves exactly what you are, Adrian! A savage! You are not we

Rex’s smirk faltered, but he forced it back. “That was when you had the Aldridge name backing you. But now?”He stepped closer, his tone dripping with arrogance.“Now you’re nothing. Just another fool who thought he could climb too high. Get lost before I beat the shit out of you.”“Call whoever you like,” he said softly. “But I’m walking through that gate.”Rex shoved him back as hard as he could.Adrian didn’t even move. He looked down at Rex’s hand pressed against his chest.Fear flashed across Rex's eyes. Was he really that strong?“Careful,” Adrian said, voice low. “You’ll want to keep that hand for the rest of your life.”Rex laughed, but his voice trembled slightly. “Don’t threaten me, Lancaster. I’m not scared of you.”Adrian tilted his head slightly. "Trust me, you should be."Rex’s smirk twisted into a sneer. “You really think you can talk your way past me?” he growled, shoving Adrian again, harder this time.Adrian didn’t budge. Not even an inch. Adrian didn’t respond. He just let out a small smile. The weight of Sophia’s accusations, the betrayal, the divorce still pressed against his chest. Lilith’s gaze lingered on him. Adrian could see the hunger in her eyes, but he avoided her gaze. She shifted in her seat, her coat falling open to reveal the curve of her collarbone. “Isn’t it hot in here?” she murmured as her fingers moved to the buttons of her blouse. Meanwhile, the temperature of the AC was probably negative degrees. Adrian knew what she was playing at. She unbuttoned the first two buttons of her shirt. The fabric parted, revealing smooth skin and her cleavages. Her eyes never left his, daring him to look. Adrian kept his face turned away. His gaze was fixed on the rain outside the window. Lilith’s hand slid across the seat and she began to trace the line up his thigh. Her hand slowly went higher and higher. Her fingers brushed the seam of his trousers, teasingly. But before her hand could go far Ad

The doors slammed shut behind them. The entire hall swallowed hard. Lilith turned and her cold gaze swept the Aldridge family.“This,” Lilith said in a low voice, “is a misunderstanding.” She stepped closer to Adrian, placing a possessive hand on his shoulder. “Adrian Lancaster is not a monster as you claim. I have met terrible men and he is not one of them.”Gerald found his voice first, though it cracked at first. “Miss Ivanova, you don’t know him. He is like a snake. He is charming but I swear he is deadly. He poisoned Rowan. He humiliated my daughter. He...”“I’ll take my chances,” Lilith cut in, eyes flashing. “He’s mine now. Touch a hair on his head, and you answer to me.
