Adrian straightened and placed a steady hand on her shoulder.

“It’s time for your treatment, Clara” he said quietly.

Clara nodded without question, her small fingers curling around his as he led her down the corridor. Evelyn stepped aside at the door, bowing her head. Adrian did not speak to her, he pushed the door open himself and guided Clara inside.

The room dimmed as the door closed.

At the bedside, he knelt and reached beneath the cabinet. A soft metallic click broke the silence as he drew out the black case, the Mindpulse Briefcase.

He set it on the table. Another click. The locks released.

The case opened revealing rows of silver needles and vials of the futuristic medicine suspended in glass.

Clara sat obediently on the bed, her wide eyes curious but trusting. “Brother… shiny,” she whispered with a soft smile.

Adrian allowed the faintest curve of his lips. “Yes, Clara. Shiny.”

Then his face hardened.

He washed his hands in the basin, the water dripping steadily into silence.

  • CHAPTER 92- Prisoner's Plea

Lucian’s smirk lingered, but his eyes betrayed him— behind his eyes was hunger and desperation.Adrian’s gaze hardened, a storm surging behind his steady eyes. How dare he?How dare this hollow man, this carcass of arrogance and desperation, question his love for Clara?Clara was his light, his reason, the only fragile piece of warmth he had left in this cursed world.Of course, he loved her. He would burn kingdoms, slit empires open, tear down the sky itself if it meant saving her.And this wretch dared use her life as a bargaining chip.“Manipulative bastard…” The thought thundered through Adrian’s mind. He saw through Lucian- the hollow pride, the mask of mockery on Lucian’s face.Behind those eyes, there was no king. No titan. No empire.Only a desperate man clawing at straws, praying, begging, that Adrian might buy his freedom.Praying for release from the very hell Adrian had thrown him into. And yet, Lucian had the audacity to sit there shackled, breathing rancid arrogance, as

It was as though his insults were dust carried on the air, weightless, meaningless. Why would he exchange words with a common criminal? If not that he would do anything for Clara he would not be here.“Do you even hear me?” Lucian barked, voice cracking. He slammed his chained fists against the table again, the clang echoing through the small room. “I said, why should I help you?”Adrian’s expression didn’t change. He leaned back slowly, his composure so absolute it was suffocating."Do you have the information I need or not?" Adrian finally said.Lucian’s sneer trembled, then finally cracked.
