Valeria slammed her shoulder into the metallic door for the twelfth time, her breath ragged, arms trembling with exhaustion.

“Faster, Anna! Push harder—he’s in there!” she shouted, voice cracking with a mix of desperation and fury.

Anna didn’t answer. She was beyond words, sweat dripping from her forehead as she swung a rusted pipe again and again against the welded seam. Every impact echoed through the corridor like a scream, but the damn door held tight, mocking their efforts.

Clang!

Clang!

Valeria fell to her knees, chest heaving. “We’re not going to make it,” she whispered, but as she looked up—her eyes widened.

Smoke.

A thin trail of black smoke curled from the upper edges of the door m. Her heart jolted.

“He’s alive. He’s trying to signal us—Anna, he’s right there!”

That lit a fire under Anna. She gritted her teeth and raised the pipe again with a roar that didn’t sound like her at all—pure rage, pure fear.
