Chapter 9

Nicholas swallowed hard, his mind racing. "W-what do you mean?"

The old man straightened, a small smile playing on his lips. "You are Nicholas Bellingham. The last heir of the Bellingham dynasty."

Nicholas’s heart stopped.

‘Bellingham dynasty?’

His parents had died when he was young, leaving him and Olivia with nothing but their names. They had struggled every day just to survive.

"You’ve been lost to us for years," the old man continued. "But now, you’ve been found."

Nicholas couldn’t process it. None of this made sense. "Who… who are you?"

The old man placed a hand on his shoulder. "My name is Alfred Graves. I served your family for decades. And now, it’s time for you to come home."

Nicholas’s legs threatened to give out. Home? He had no home. Just a tiny apartment he could barely afford.

Nicholas Bellingham stood frozen, his mind reeling from the old man’s words. ‘Young Master of the Bellingham family?’ The richest family in the world? It sounded like something out of a fantasy novel—not his life.

“You must have mistaken me for someone else,” Nicholas insisted, shaking his head on denial.

“I grew up in an orphanage. My parents died when I was young. I’ve been struggling just to survive. There’s no way I’m part of some wealthy dynasty.”

The old man known as Alfred Graves, remained unfazed. His sharp eyes bore into Nicholas’s with unwavering certainty.

“You are the lost heir,” he said firmly. “And I can prove it.”

Nicholas swallowed hard. His heart pounded so loudly he could hear it in his ears. “Prove it then.”

Alfred nodded. “Last week, Dublic Corporation conducted a blood test for all employees, correct?”

Nicholas frowned. “Yeah, but that was just a normal routine. What does that have to do with anything?”

A small smile played on Alfred’s lips. “It was supposed to be routine. But what we found was something out of the ordinary. We found a special blood during the test. ”

Nicholas’s pulse quickened. “What are you talking about? A Special Blood? What do you mean by that?” He demanded.

“Your blood,” Alfred continued, “contains a rare genetic marker—one that only exists within the Bellingham bloodline. When we discovered it, we ran further tests in secret. We obtained a strand of your hair, cross-referenced it with our records, and confirmed it through DNA analysis.” He paused, letting the weight of his words sink in. “You, Nicholas Bellingham, are the son of Richard and Eleanor Bellingham.”

The air left Nicholas’s lungs.

‘Bellingham.’

The name alone carried unimaginable power. The Bellingham family was legendary—a dynasty so vast and influential that their wealth could buy entire countries. And now, this man was telling him he was part of that?

Around him, the hospital staff and patients gasped. Whispers erupted like wildfire.

“The Bellinghams?!”

“That’s impossible!”

“He’s the heir to the Magnificent Bellingham Family?!”

They stared at the young man before them unbelievably and with jealousy and envy laced in their eyes, they wished they had been in the position where Nicholas was.

They wished it was them that had become the Young Master of the Bellingham family.

The Director, doctor and nurses were utterly dumbfounded at the scene that just unfolded in front of them. They never believe the person they had been looking down on, will suddenly become the Young Master of the Bellingham family .

Everyone stared at the young man in admiration except from the obese man, the Vice President of the hospital who gnashed his teeth in total regret and shame.

At this moment, he wished he had the power to rewind the hand of time, and have a good relationship with the young man but he couldn't. He regretted humiliating and disrespecting him in front of everyone.

He regretted calling all sorts of derogatory names, looking down on him, and even having the guts to stop his sister's medical surgery.

Nicholas barely registered their shock. His knees buckled, and he slumped against the wall, his vision swimming. This can’t be real.

But Alfred wasn’t finished. “Your parents… they didn’t abandon you. You were taken from them as a baby. They searched for you for years, but the trail went cold. Until now.”

Nicholas’s throat tightened. His entire life, he had believed he was nobody. A forgotten orphan. A struggling worker barely scraping by. And now, in the span of minutes, his entire identity had been flipped upside down.

‘Could this really be true?’

Nicholas Bellingham was shocked at the revelation. He slumped to the ground and stayed quiet for a few minutes.

He didn't know if he should cry or laugh wholeheartedly at his new found identity. Being the Young Master of the Bellingham isn't something less but a huge favor.

He got up from the ground and walked up to the man, Alfred Graves, and mumbled, “Are you serious? Am I truly the Young Master of the Bellingham family?”

The Butler couldn't hide the excitement he was feeling at the moment as he blurted out in a happy tone.

“Yes, you are! You are the Bellingham Young Master!" He replied.

Before he could process it further, a nurse burst out of the operating room, her face pale with urgency.

“Doctor! We need you right now!”

The doctor, who had been standing frozen in shock, snapped back to reality and sprinted toward the surgery room.

Nicholas’s blood ran cold instantly.

“Olivia.”He called out.

He lunged forward, grabbing the nurse’s arm. “What’s happening to my sister?!”

The nurse hesitated, her eyes darting nervously.

Nicholas’s grip tightened. “*Tell me.*”

His voice was low, but something in it made the nurse flinch. The air around him had shifted—his desperation morphing into something darker. Something dangerous.

The nurse swallowed hard. “T-the delay in the surgery… it caused complications. She’s losing blood. Really fast.”

Nicholas’s world shattered.

“No.”

He turned to Alfred, his eyes wild. “You said you paid for everything. You said she’d be taken care of!”

Alfred’s expression hardened. “And she will be.” He snapped his fingers, and one of the men in black stepped forward.

“Contact the Bellingham Medical Division. I want the best hematologists and surgeons here immediately.”

Nicholas barely heard him. His entire focus was on the operating room doors.

“Olivia, hang on a little longer. Everything is going to be fine.”

The hospital director, who had been standing frozen in horror, suddenly stumbled forward.

“M-Mr. Bellingham—”

Nicholas turned. The man who had mocked him, belittled him, *threatened* to let his sister die—now stood before him, trembling like a coward.

“I—I had no idea who you were,” the director stammered. “Please, forgive my ignorance! I’ll do anything—”

Nicholas didn’t let him finish.

In one swift motion, he grabbed the director by his collar and slammed him against the wall. The man’s eyes bulged in terror.

“You were going to let her die, right?” Nicholas fumed, his voice trembling with rage. “All because of money.”

The director whimpered. “I-I’m sorry—”

Nicholas leaned in, his breath hot against the man’s face. “If my sister doesn’t make it, you won’t either.”

The threat hung in the air like a guillotine.

Then, Alfred placed a firm hand on Nicholas’s shoulder. “Young Master, we don’t have time for this. Your sister needs us.”

Nicholas released the director with a shove, sending him crumpling to the floor.

At that moment, a team of doctors in pristine white coats rushed into the hallway—Bellingham’s private medical team. They moved with precision, barking orders as they disappeared into the operating room.

Nicholas could only stand there, his fists clenched, his heart pounding.

Alfred’s voice was calm beside him. “She’s in the best hands now.”

Nicholas didn’t respond. His mind was a storm of emotions—rage, disbelief, fear, hope.
