Latoya's face flushed with anger at the words. She had always done her medical checkup. How come they never noticed anything about an underlying Internal injury.

"How dare you lie about something this important. Do you have a death wish?" She thundered but Eddie was not moved a bit.

Angrily, Latoya focused her gaze on her sister and said. “Told you that he was a bum. Now I hate my guts for wasting so much time on him already."

Even Sophia was disappointed but she never expected much anyways.

"Take him out." Even though her commanding tune was low, it carried so much weight.

The guards bowed and stepped forward. But just as they were about to take him out, a message was displayed on LaToya's cell phone. It was the message of her checkup for the week.

Her eyes ran right through it and her eyes bulged from her head. She was settled.

"How could it be?" Sophia could see the shocks that were laced all over her face.

"Is there a problem?" Her cold brows were knitted at her sister's odd behavior.

"I think she just got the confirmation of who is more dumb." Eddie replied.

But due to the shocks, Latoya didn't hear it. If not, she would already be hot red with anger like a tomato.

Still petrified by the shocks, her cell phone fell off from her hands. A guard picked it up and gave it to Sophia who read the message.

It turned out that Eddie was telling the truth in the first instance.

Latoya soon picked up from her shock. Her face now with the tint of embarrassment rather than of shock.

Her resolve made Eddie frown.

“It's obvious that he got the answers correct from just a random guess.“ She noted quickly to protect herself.

Sophia could already see through her sister's tricks and she quickly gave her a disapproving frown. To her, it seemed like Eddie was telling the truth and besides, they didn't have much options left.

"I'm really sorry for that sir. Can you really nurse my father back to health?" She inquired.

"Yes, but only if you want me to."

Sophia soon gave her consent. Eddie was given a few acupuncture needles to work with. But as he was about to start out the process...

Just then, the door made a splitting sound and an elderly man walked into the room with two other doctors behind him.

“Another one?” Latoya mattered under her breath with disgust.

“And who are you?” Sophia inquired with her classic accent that could pass for music.

“Doctor Williams from. President of the city's medical practitioner and most recognized doctor in the city. I received a text about Sir. Fredrick and I just had to be here.” He explained.

Latoya was swayed by his words while Sophia stood on the spot without moving a single inch.

“Doctor Williams? The current best doctor in the whole of the country?” Her face brightened and he smiled.

“I'm sure that with you around. My father will live.” Latoya was swayed off from her feet with excitement while Sophia stood, unfazed.

“And who is he?” Doctor Williams inquired referring to Eddie.

“Just another swindler. Claiming he could treat my father.” Latoya hissed, not letting the slightest instance to pull him down after the embarrassment slip.

“Doctor Williams, nice to meet you.” Sophia finally spoke up.

“But I feel you should listen to what this Young Man has to say. Besides, I just saw him a few moments ago.”

Williams stared at Eddie from his head to to his toe and pulled his head away.

“I doubt he can even give him pain relief. Sir. Fredrick's case is really critical with my wealth of experience. We can't waste time on him.”

But even with his words, Sophia was still hesitant.

“Miss Sophia. We will have to continue with the operation on the billionaire immediately.“ The doctor noted as he drew slowly over to Sophia and whispered some words into her hearings.

“You can't leave it in the hands of some stranger who just wants some freeloader taking wild guesses.“ Doctor Williams rolled his eyes at Eddie, making him fall backwards slowly.

Sophia stared at them and back at Eddie. Even though a part of her believed him, they now had a better option, it would only be stupid for her to let him go ahead.

She bulged for the first time before she said.

“You can continue with the operation.“ Sophia finally gave her consent

“I won't have you lay those filthy hands on my father.“ Latoya hissed.

Eddie wanted to make his way out of the hall as the doctor walked gradually towards the old man who was dying but something kept him right on the spot where he was standing.

But flashes of the past that made him pull a forced stop to practicing what he had always dreamt of flashed in his head and he paused.

Doctor Williams made his way towards Mr. Fredrick and felt his pulse.

“Is my father going to be okay?“ Sophia inquired swiftly with a worried look on her face.

“Yeah.“ The doctor replied but the expression on his face said something else.

In all his years of practicing medicine, he had never felt anything like that before. His face broke into cold sweat but he knew that whatever he did, the billionaire could not die in his hands, that was going to ruin his career.

‘You just have to get better.’ He muttered to himself as a large lump went down his spine and he signaled to the doctor who was standing right behind him.

“Get me the needles, I think that we have to carry out acupuncture on him.“ He replied.

Eddie's eyes brightened almost immediately, surprised that the doctor knew exactly what he had to do.

But he was way too sure that he was never going to get it right and he didn't.

Doctor Williams took the first needle, placing it at an acupuncture point just beneath his chest region.

“You're just going to make this all worse.“ Eddie could already see the heart of the old man, rising steadily on his chest.

But whatever it was, Eddie could not watch the old man die under his watch.

Hopefully, one of the needles snapped off from the floor and that was exactly what he needed.

Pulling it, Eddie placed the needle in his underarm in such a way that only the doctor noticed.

“Hey.“ He was about to yell at Eddie angrily when a slight cough escaped from the lips of the old man and the attention of everyone there was shifted towards him.

“Father?“ Sophia and her sister rushed swiftly towards Mr. Fredrick who was lying on the bed.

His eyes spun around and he seemed to be clouded with so much confusion.

“What am I doing here?“ He could still not recollect how he got to that place.

“You fell during the meeting. You got us scared.“ Latoya responded.

“But thanks to Doctor Williams. You are fine now.“ There were tears in Sophia's eyes as she said the words.

Mr. Fredrick's eyes stormed off swiftly toward Doctor Williams with a smile hanging on his face even though he was still feeling weak

“Thank you for saving me from the clutches of death doctor Willams. I am going to make sure that you are handsomely rewarded.“ He said.

“It was nothing. I was just doing my job and the most important thing is that you are back to your full health.“ He responded swiftly, trying as hard as he could not to maintain eye contact with Eddie.

Latoya’s eyes sped off swiftly towards Eddie with a deadly snare hanging on her face.

“Well. Too bad for the one bum that thinks that you would be dead without his help.“Eddie didn't fail to pick out the sarcasm in her words.

He wanted to leave, his hands clenched tightly with so much anger until they made a cracking sound but was able to control himself.

Knowing that trying to step away from the place was going to get him into more trouble than he was already.

“So move on trying to help.“ He said under his breath.

“And who is that?“ Mr. Fredrick replied, getting up slowly from the bed that he was lying on.

But in an attempt to do this, the needle that Eddie had placed snapped off from the point dropping almost immediately.

Eddie didn't have enough time to place it properly and knee that it was going to fall off. It was just his own way of buying time.

A surge of current seemed to have gone through his spine, knocking him off his bed as he foamed from his mouth Falling back to the bed.

Doctor Williams had never seen anything like that in all his practice as his face brightened and cold shivers ran down his spine.

Sophia got up slowly from the bed that she was lying on, unable to spit out even a single word from her mouth as the fear stripped her of her words.

“What's going on? What's happening to my father?“ Latoya yelled at the top of her voice.

“I am going to take care of it right away.“ Doctor Williams replied, taking up the needle and placing it exactly at the point where Eddie had dropped it but it was not working anymore.

“Why isn't it working?“ The doctor yelled in his head.

He tried everything that he knew but it was only getting things even worse than it was already.

If there was anything that mattered most to him now that would be saving his career and nothing other than that.

He turned swiftly towards Eddie with a sorry look on his face.

“No doctor would watch anyone die under their watch. You helped before. You might know what to do.“ He swallowed.

Confusion flooded the face of Latoya as she was still trying to make things out in her head.

“You aren't going to allow this swindler to lie his filthy hands on my father right?“ She inquired.

“I guess you would rather start preparing a grand funeral for your father?“

“Miss. Latoya. I know this is inappropriate but we have to give it a try. Let's see if he can help. Either way, your father does not have much time to seek an alternative.“

“There is only one person that can help your father that I know of. Doctor Herrison.” Mentioning Eddie's master's name sparked electric currents in his vines.

“But even if we had the time to fly him, Doctor Herrison is controlled by the Almighty Modrick and you know what that means. All of us put together can't even clean off his shoes.”

It seemed that strangers knew much more about his father than himself. Thoughts ran through his mind.

‘'How powerful and influential is my father?’ Eddie didn't dare to voice his thoughts out.

Latoya pulled off immediately as tears flooded from her eyes, thinking that her father was as good as dead already.

Doctor Williams and Eddie pulled over to the billionaire.

The toxin was flowing swiftly toward his heart now and he needed to cut off that flow.

Placing the needles at the appropriate points, the doctor stopped jerking and opened his eyes.

“Who are you?“ Where the first Words emitted from Mr. Fredrick's mouth

Everyone in the room raised their heads almost immediately with their faces ridden with shock, thinking that the wealthy billionaire was dead already.

“Father?“ Latoya and Sophia were snapped into the greatest shock of their lives.

The sun was setting behind thick clouds when Eddie drove into the industrial district. The sleek glass towers of downtown gave way to old concrete buildings and empty warehouses.
