Chapter 6

The loud bang from the door disrupted the activities of the couples, as they were startled.

The man hurriedly covered himself with a blanket, leaving Yvonne exposed.

Andre’s eyes were red as he glared at them.

“What are you doing here? Who bailed you from going to jail?” The man questioned. He was no other than Willow Smith.

“Andre, what are you doing here? You should be in jail.” Yvonne said as she grabbed her panties.

“You couldn’t even wait for us to divorce, and you’re…” Andre pursed his lips into a thin line, his veins bulging out of his skin.

“You could have just waited for us to divorce! Why did you have to sleep with him? Why did you have to cheat on me?” Andre fired.

Yvonne’s confidence returned and a sardonic grin crept up the corners of her lips.

“What are you, Andre? Because of a pathetic loser like you, I was demoted to the position of an ordinary assistant marketing manager, I lost my face and respect.”

“And just last night that you went to jail, my former position was restored in the family. Just yesterday with Smith, my life suddenly turned around for good. Just get away with your bad luck!” Yvonne retorted.

Andre was quiet as he listened to Yvonne’s silly excuses. So, he was a piece of bad luck which has been causing her woes, right?

Amidst the bantering, Smith was quiet but his fingers were rubbing the tips of Yvonne’s nipples, Andre knew Smith was doing that on purpose to irk him.

Yvonne even moaned at that.

“Let's divorce now that you are here. The papers is over there on the table. Just input your signatures at the designated areas.” Yvonne said.

Andre heaved a sigh after keeping quiet for a short moment. “Fine if you want a divorce.”

“But, I want to know if you’re divorcing me because your family wants you to, because of your ex-boyfriend, or because it was your choice.”

Yvonne was quiet for a while but, then answered. “All of the above. But, my choice and I’m happy.”

Andre didn’t utter any words as headed towards the table to sign after perusing through the contents.

“I hope you don’t regret this!” He spat,

“I’ll only regret if I end up marrying a loser like you. I’ll suffer for the rest of my life. With Willow as my husband, I’ll enjoy a longtime wealth, so the choice is obvious even to the blinds.”

“Now get out. I’m damn wet!”

Andre obliged and stormed out of the room but accidentally, he bumped into Hannah with his rigid body which caused Hannah a great fall.

“Ouch! Were you blind to notice me?” Hannah cursed out loudly.

Yvonne was startled by the noise and rushed out to see her mother on the floor.

She turned to Andre and asked, “Are you stupid? Do you want to visit the prison?”

“How dare you hit my mother? A dog biting at the hands that feed it, uh?” Yvonne fumed with anger.

Willow hurried over to assist Hannah, but Yvonne declined, saying it was Andre’s mess to clean.

Seeing this reaction from Yvonne pierced Andre’s heart so deeply, that he wanted to burst into tears. She has never loved him. He truly has plans for Yvonne and was going to help her stand out among her families, but she was just a classless whore.

“Now, come here and lift my mom,” Yvonne ordered.

Andre paused at his pace and said. “I’m no longer indebted to you. I’ve paid my debts of servitude, no longer the dog you could order around.”

Andre said this and strode towards the entrance door. He paused, then whirled. “I was going to let you know that I have plans for you. Plans that will make every of the Sparrow’s family crouched at your feet.”

Mesmerized at Andre’s words, Yvonne yelled. “Lies! What plans could a useless man like you have, huh?”

Andre drew in a deep breath. “It’s useless to know, anyway. We are divorced. See you at the top.”

Andre kicked the door open and stormed off, ignoring the background screams of Yvonne.

As Andre walked, he couldn’t help the pain in his heart. He was going to stop a taxi when his phone rang.

He picked up the first call, listening to what the person was saying over the line. He frowned upon the caller’s words, and turmoil filled his heart.

Andre’s heart almost dropped to the base of his tummy at the sudden revelation. The people who were behind his imprisonment were no other than, his mother-in-law, and Willow Smith.

His fists clenched in fury, and a darker version of his aura spreads through the air, sending chills into the spines of the people around him.

‘Gosh! What such of cold is this?’ They chattered.

Andre let go of his anger, and the chilling sensations dropped.

“I’m going to crush the Sparrow’s family and the Willow’s family for daring to set me up,” Andre murmured under his breath.

He dialed a contact on his phone and said, “I’m kind of troubled, need to see you.”

“Young master, kindly send us your location and I’ll come pick you up at the moment.” The voice sounded over the line.

Andre apprised the caller of his location and ended the call.

Half an hour later, a white Roll-Royce stopped on the street. Thirty meters away from Andre.

Edwin in a tailored black suit, stepped down from the car and ended towards a low-class restaurant.

It didn’t take Edwin a minute to recognize Andre who was seated outside the restaurant.

“Young master-“ Edwin was going to call but froze at the gestures of Andre.

He had signaled him to stop.

Edwin obliged and walked towards Andre, he bowed showing his respect.

“I am so stranded right now. Do you have any money? I want to borrow some,”

Edwin stood and his eyebrows furrowed in shock.

Borrow money?

Was the young master joking or what? All his wealth was given to him by his madam.

Badmus had already smashed his glass of whiskey against the wall.“She’s ruined us!” Grandpa thundered. “She’s turned the entire country against us. Now, she's made us a target, Badmus! Every reporter will be digging into our history.” Badmus growled, “She didn’t name us, Father. But everyone will guess. The press already thinks it’s an internal feud.”Grandpa’s voice trembled with anger. “And where’s that useless husband of hers? This is his doing. He’s poisoned her mind!”Andre entered just then, his face unreadable, his shirt still stained faintly from the cut on his cheek. “If anyone poisoned her,” he said quietly, “it was this family.”Badmus took a threatening step forward. “Watch your tongue, boy. Grandpa, Uncle Badmus, all of them. My mother’s missing, and they’re still talking about contracts!”Andre sighed, pulling her closer until her shaking body rested against his chest. “Listen to me. Go home. I’ll handle this.”“Handle?” she repeated bitterly. “How? You saw what they did. You saw how they treat you, like you’re nothing!”He didn’t flinch. “Exactly. They think I’m nothing.
