Mike countenance fell flat , 3 days to him was too long and he couldn't wait any longer to attend the biggest event that would enable him garner massive connections from the influential guests that would come.
And the most important thing was, he'd be able to meet the mysterious chairman there.
He could use that opportunity to personally present another project to the chairman and build his father's trust.
If he gets the chairman to approve another project, his father would hand over the company to him earlier than expected.
But whatever, no matter it was tomorrow or three days later, he'd make it!
Mike snapped back his gaze to Andrew and squared his shoulder,as a proud smile enveloped his face, “ My fiancé and I would be the special guests at the A and U banquet happening in three days and we would be signing our big collaboration with the chairman present there”
“ You can just come and pack some leftovers, since that's the only way I can compensate you for snatching your wife from you because I was a better man ”Mike boasted, his words dripping with mockery
Andrew let out a small laugh and nodded his head.
“Sure, I will attend it and I will make sure to come with a huge gift, for the both of you” he added sarcastically,
“How do you intend on doing that with your measly pay that you hardly get by with? Mike sneered, glaring down at Andrew condescendingly.
“See you in 3 days, and look for who to borrow a suit from, your regular trashy type of dressing won't be allowed that day ” Mike said smugly, adjusting the collar of his shirt as he turned his back and made his way out of the company building.
Andrew flickered his gaze at his retreating back and he chuckled lightly, really looking forward to seeing the fool's funny face on that day.
Andrew turned around to proceed to take his private elevator to the CEO's office.
Meanwhile at the 10th floor of the A and U building, the powerful and strict CEO of A and U group, Justin Timon, was seen arranging his office and setting things in order as he paced around nervously .
He had just received information from his assistant that the chairman was in the building but he wasn't informed earlier so he feared that the chairman would be angry at him for keeping him waiting.
He was well known in the whole of Nashville city as the strictest and most powerful CEO of the A and U groups. He was highly competent, knowledgeable and was mostly known for being fearless.
But somehow, when it comes to his boss, the chairman of A and U group, his usual strict demeanor abandons him and he turns into a nervous mess.
And today, he was no different, his insides were burning with trepidation as he hurriedly made his way to the elevator, praying that the chairman wouldn't be very mad at him because he wasted time in coming to meet with him.
The moment the elevator door dropped open, and Andrew came in sight
Upon seeing him , Justin's head bowed down as he greeted him respectfully, the sweat trickling down his forehead.
“My assistant didn't inform me on time that you were here, I'm sorry sir for keeping you waiting. Please forgive….. "
“It's okay Justin. ”Andrew ordered as he made his way into the office
“Thank you sir” The CEO heaved a deep sigh of relief as he bowed his head.
“By the way, did you just meet with Mike Woods to sign a contract with his father's company Hillwoods corporation?" Andrew asked.
“No sir, I wasn't the one who met with him, I was in an important meeting and there was no need for me to see him myself, so I asked my assistant to do that” The CEO said respectfully, careful with his words in order not to say something to offend the chairman.
“His father was willing to reduce their company's profit by 50% just for the chance to collaborate with us. So we considered him because it wasn't much of a big deal even though his company wasn't really up to our normal standard.” He said, explaining further.
“Ok, cancel the contract with Hill woods and halt all ongoing projects immediately”
“From today onwards,I forbid you to sign any contract or get affiliated with Hillwoods corporation, am I understood? ”Andrew ordered , his voice laced with authority
“Yes sir “ The CEO answered immediately, wondering what Hill wood corporation have done to incur his boss's wrath.
“ I will get right into it immediately” He obeyed without asking any further questions, to avoid upsetting his boss.
Andrew nodded slightly,“And prepare my jet. Immediately. I need to go to Ceal Veal city.”
“Okay, sir.”
Meanwhile, Mike was busy in the shopping mall making selections of suits he was going to wear for the banquet.
Beep!
Mike reached for his phone in his pocket, the moment he saw the name on the screen, he smiled in satisfaction as he put the phone to his ears, expecting praises from his father.
“Hello…
“Who the fuk did you offend? What did you do to make A and U cancel all of our ongoing and future projects with them? Why did you choose to put our company in jeopardy? ”
Mike's face turned pale, his heartbeat picking up rapidly as his father's words sank into his ears.
“H..h..how”
“ You fool, the reason for the cancellation is because you offended someone, who was it ?”
“I didn't offend anyone, I have…”
“That's none of my business! You have to fix it.”
“The loan sharks are on our neck, our stocks are crashing, the shareholders are selling off our shares at a ridiculously cheap rate.”
“All this in one day because of you? We now at the verge of announcing our bankruptcy”
“Fix it or I will disown you” the voice roared and immediately the line went dead.
Mike was shocked to the core, his heart still pounding furiously against his chest, beads of sweat rolling down his face.
How could he go from Hero to zero in split seconds because he offended someone?
“Who was it?”He ransacked his brain, thinking of anyone he had issues with, but there was none—except Andrew.
“Was it Andrew ?”
“No common Mike, think properly! How can you think such a lowlife could affect the decision of a huge company Iike A and U?” He scolded himself, waving off the absurd thought.
But how can they lose the A and U project like that?
Their company had already faced a financial crisis due to poor management before. Although it appeared problem-free on the surface, in reality, it was on the verge of collapse.
In order to secure a collaboration project with A and U, his father had even proactively offered a 50% profit concession, as they were well aware of the enormous benefits such a partnership with a giant corporation would bring in all aspects. The collaboration with A and U was the only lifeline that could pull them out of the abyss.
Now the partnership had been canceled, it was a disaster for them. He must quickly find a new source of funds to fill the financial gap.
But how could it be that easy? The bank had already refused to give them a loan before.
Mike felt utterly desperate.
His face turned pale, beads of sweat dripped from his forehead, and he paced back and forth, frantically thinking about how to solve the current predicament.
How could he be so unlucky?
It was all that trash Andrew’s fault, bringing him bad luck!
Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck him.
Lily!
Although Lily’s company wasn’t as strong as his, it had been growing rapidly in recent years. And in 3 days time, she would be finalizing her collaboration with A and U group which would undoubtedly result in a massive influx of capital.
“Yes! !” He muttered, as a thought flashed through his mind, refilling his hope.
Now Lily was completely devoted to him, having even broken up with Andrew for him.
All he had to do was hold onto Lily tighter and continue gaining her trust.
As long as he did that, transferring her funds into his own account wouldn't be too difficult.
And with that, they could bounce back.
After making up his mind, Mike took a deep breath and forced a smile on his face,as he began mapping out his plans in his head.

Andrew was slightly taken aback himself, though not in the way they thought. He hadn't known Amik had partnered with his company. Not because it wasn’t important, but because he hadn’t been keeping up. The CEO had begged him to visit the Jashem branch, to see the numbers, the growth, to meet the new partners. But Andrew hadn’t had the time—or the interest. He had poured his all into that company . He’d built it brick by brick. And when it began to rise, he didn’t cling to it. He didn’t need to see its shadow to know it still stood strong. He set it up to grow without him. He had built ten branches in the ten cities. Each one planted like a seed with deep roots. He had no idea the Jashem branch had grown so much. That it now commanded this kind of attention. Chapter 218: Lower Class
Mr. Amik stood firm, eyes narrowing as Andrew prepared to walk past. His presence wasn’t loud, but the tension in his stance spoke volumes. To him, the idea of this plain-dressed stranger cutting ahead was nothing short of an insult. It wasn’t just impatience—it was disbelief. And somewhere beneath it, bruised pride that refused to bleed quietly. In Jashem City, you could size a man up before he even spoke. The city was built on performance, and everyone knew it. Wealth was never silent. It sparkled in diamond watches, strutted in limited-edition suits, and screamed from behind tinted luxury cars. That was the code. That was the order. And in this order, no rich man dressed in a shirt and faded jeans. So Amik didn’t need confirmation. He didn’t need names or stories. He had looked at Andrew, made a decision, and moved on.Lower class. Chapter 217: Mr. Torino
Andrew decided to meet with Mr. Torino, the man Cain had mentioned—the one who supposedly held answers about the crimson herb. Whether the man could be trusted was still uncertain, but at this point, Andrew knew one thing for sure: the deeper he went into this web, the more every move mattered. When he arrived at the office, he saw five other men already seated in the narrow waiting area. They didn’t look like ordinary clients. Their suits were crisp, their silence loaded. Men like these didn’t sit in waiting rooms unless they were waiting for something very valuable—or someone very powerful. And none of them seemed like the type to be kept waiting for long.Andrew took a seat without a word. His eyes didn’t scan the room. He didn’t acknowledge anyone. There was no point in drawing attention to himself when all he wanted was information. His thoughts were elsewhere—fixed on the herb, Cain’s warning, and now this mysterious Mr. Torino.Minutes passed. He was still thinking about Ca
