Tiffany’s breath hitched the moment her eyes locked onto the intruder.

The world around her faded. The noise, the people, the danger—all of it disappeared in an instant.

Because standing there, disheveled and out of breath, was Andrew.

And for the first time that night, Tiffany smiled.

She had given up hope that Andrew would show up ,but seeing him here was such a huge relief .

“Andrew… you came.” Tiffany’s voice was gentle, relief washing over her like a wave. Her smile, small but genuine, softened her pale face. She turned to her father. “He’s my friend, Dad.”

At the sight of Andrew and the warmth on Tiffany’s face, Liam’s expression turned to ice. His jaw clenched, fists tightening at his sides.

Why does this idiot have to ruin everything?

Mr. Roman’s sharp gaze shifted between Tiffany and the newcomer—Andrew . He had been watching his daughter closely all night—tracking every flicker of emotion on her face.

Until now, all he had seen was fear, exhaustion, and hopelessness

Mr. Roman’s head snapped toward the entrance, his tense shoulders relaxing the moment he saw the Almighty Michael Billa stride in. Relief flooded his chest. Finally, a real expert. The broad-shouldered man strode in, his presence commanding. Behind him, five other men followed, each carrying a medium-sized box with practiced ease. The sheer volume of equipment alone was enough to command respect. Andrew stood off to the side, gripping a single box. It was unimpressive. Mr. Roman’s gaze flickered to him—assessing, judging, dismissing. One look at Mr. Billa’s arsenal of tools was enough to declare the obvious: Andrew didn’t stand a chance. This was an amateur standing in the shadow of an expert. One man came prepared for war; the other barely had the tools to fight. This wasn’t even a competition. Liam, standing tall beside Mr. Roman, took pleasure in the moment. His smirk was barely contained as he stepped forward, extending a hand toward the expert. "Welcome, Mr. Billa." His tone

He did it again! The bomb is disarmed!” one of the EOD’s men announced. For a brief moment, silence hung in the air. Then the room erupted into cheers. A wave of relief washed over the room. “Wow, he did it in less than fifteen minutes!” Someone in the room marveled. Liam smirked, basking in the glory of his chosen expert. “How much time is left?” he asked knowingly, his voice dripping with self-satisfaction. All eyes snapped to the vest still strapped to Tiffany’s body. “ Only two hours and five minutes left," one of Michael Billa’s men said, chest puffed with pride. Mr. Roman stepped forward, his expression filled with gratitude as he shook Michael Billa’s hand. “You’ve saved my daughter’s life. I owe you.” A smug grin curled at Liam's lips as he stepped forward . “I told you Sir, Mr Billa is equal to the task. No one can beat him ,” he said proudly , throwing a condescending gaze at Andrew “ So now, Mr. Billa, what next?" Liam asked, anticipation gleaming in his eyes. “

All through the drive to Tiffany's house, Andrew could not stop thinking about Benita’s condition . Lines of worry creased his face as he drove and he spoke so little to Tiffany who was trying to get into a conversation with him. All he could think of was Benita dying after she saved his life and gave him a second chance in life. Tiffany noticed that Andrew was distracted and was surprised to see that. Andrew happened to be the most focused and unbothered person she knew so seeing him this way not only surprised her, but made her worried as well. What could he be thinking about? She asked herself. After a while, Tiffany could no longer put up with the strange silence that had filled the car. She tried to force the words out but nothing came. “Andrew, are you okay?” She asked after a long conflict in her mind. Andrew glanced at her and let out a small smile. “Yes, I'm fine. Is there anything wrong?” He tried to cover up with a smile but Tiffany could see through it. “

An hour later, Andrew's car screeched to a stop in front of the don Chester clubhouse. The lights outside were bright and inviting as Andrew tried to take in the environment of the club house before stepping out of the car . Andrew heaved a deep sigh as he walked towards the entrance. Though he still had doubts that he would be able to get the Rootox herb here ,deep down ,he hoped to be proved wrong . Benita’s life depended on this herb ,and there was nothing he wanted more than laying his hands on the damn herb . “Donchester.” Andrew whispered the name of the club house to himself. He tried to note as many details about the place as he could. If this place is capable of leading him to the Rootox herb , then he'd give it a try . Andrew concluded and made his way to the entrance “Hold on . What are you here for ?” The security guard held out his hand ,obstructing Andrew from going in. “I'm here for an auction” Andrew replied calmly, ignoring the man's spiteful gaze “C

Mr Koin began “Now ,It's time for the Rootox herb. We will start taking biddings for now.” he announced with a grin on his face Andrew's heart skipped at the mention of the rootox herb ,he couldn't believe his ears . The same herb he believed had gone extinct ? Andrew thought, his face enveloping into a smile . This had just made his day ,and he couldn't wait to lay his hands on the herb “Before we commence ,this is additional information ,as usual everyone present in this room knows the rules . Any herb that isn't available physically,we bid for the location instead” Mr Koin said and Andrew heaved a sigh , he had hoped it was the herb itself and not the location ,but regardless ,it was still the same . Now he knew it hadn't gone extinct , he'd do whatever it took to lay his hands on that herb . The room was dead silent as everyone's gaze remained glued to the figure standing on the stage, waiting for a go ahead order to start the bidding . “ Now ,shall we begin?” Mr Koi

“I'll take it for fifty thousand dollars.” A voice started the bidding from the back. The room turned their heads to the head bald headed man and burst into a loud guffaw "You are not supposed to be here ,brokeass" "Go get food with that petty change you just mentioned" The man lowered his head in shame as the men shaded and made mockery of him . Andrew watched the display of everyone and sighed. There was nothing he hated more than being in the company of old men like this, who seemed to think life revolved around them and everyone else worked for them. “Hundred thousand dollars.” Someone else yelled loudly. “You should use your money to take a trip to the Maldives, poor one. I'll take it for two hundred thousand dollars.” An extravagantly dressed man yelled and the room became filled with laughter as the previous bidder bowed his head in shame. Andrew watched the man walk out of the room with his head bowed. He smiled at the sight. That man was the same person who

The room suddenly erupted with laughter after several minutes of silence. It started from an old man who couldn't believe Andrew had just spoken and soon it spread all over the room, even the group of reserved men were laughing at Andrew for no reason. “Who does this young chap think he is? Some sort of prankster or excellent joker? Boy, if you don't get the hell out of this room and let real men pay for their herbs.” The man who laughed first commented but Andrew ignored him and stared at Mr Koin who was still in disbelief. “S..sir, are you sure you mentioned the right price?” Mr Koin stuttered, still in shock and disbelief. “ Of course the boy has no idea what he's saying. Young man, you must think this is child's play but it's not. The men here are men who hold keys to several places in the world that your wretched ass can never dream of, so quit dreaming and take this last chance to exit this room.” Another man spoke but Andrew remained undeterred. At this point, he not

Amik had gotten home that night, his shoulders heavy with the weight of the day’s humiliation. The air inside his penthouse was thick with tension, the silence broken only by the sharp clicks of his polished shoes against the marble floor. His mind replayed the scene at the lounge —Andrew’s cold smirk, the way the other executives had turned their backs as if he were nothing. The memory burned like acid in his chest. His friend, Daniel, was already there, pacing the length of the living room like a caged animal. The television screen flickered with muted news coverage—Amik Corporation’s stocks plummeting, analysts dissecting his downfall with clinical detachment. Daniel’s face was pale, his fingers twitching at his sides as if he wanted to punch something. The moment Amik stepped in, Daniel whirled around, his eyes wild. “What the hell happened, Amik? What did I see on TV?” His voice was a blade, slicing through the quiet. Amik exhaled, his fingers tightening around the glass

His voice, once proud and sharp, broke down into pleading. “I-I’m sorry,” Amik stammered, hands trembling, “Please… I didn’t know… If I had known… I swear, I wouldn’t have…” He looked up at Andrew like a drowning man begging for rope. “I was wrong. I was so wrong. Please forgive me. Just one chance, just one.” But Andrew didn’t move. He didn’t speak. He didn’t show the rage they had mocked, or the power they had denied. He only looked at Amik with the same quiet calm that had shaken them all to the core. It was that stillness that made it unbearable. “I didn’t know,” Amik repeated, now more desperately. “I didn’t mean it. I didn’t know who you were!” Amik begged harder, his voice growing more frantic. He promised anything, everything—money, favors, loyalty—but deep down, he knew it was too late. It was all his fault . His voice was shaking, words tumbling over each other, but Andrew’s expression didn’t change. There was no mercy in his eyes. He had given him chan

His words dripped with mockery, his voice full of arrogance. He spoke like a man too sure of the air he breathed, too unaware that it could be taken from him. He looked around for agreement, waiting for the others to join in, but his laughter began to echo back at him. The room didn’t laugh with him this time. There was a pause. A long one. Then a voice snapped through the silence like a crack in glass. "He was telling the truth!" one of the men shouted back, his voice cracking with urgency, and instantly, every pair of eyes in the room jerked toward the television mounted on the wall. And just like that, nothing else in the room mattered anymore. The screen lit up with the red-and-white logo of a news station known for breaking high-priori

Andrew slowly took the phone away from his ear, his thumb still resting on the screen. He didn’t blink. He didn’t move. His face stayed calm—too calm. But the room around him was not. Suddenly, loud laughter exploded in the air, sharp and mocking. It was cruel. It was on purpose. Each laugh was louder and meaner than the last, filled with pride and disbelief. They weren’t just laughing at what he said. They were laughing at the idea that someone like him could say it and actually believe it. One of them clapped loudly, almost choking in his amusement. “You hear that?! He cancelled the contract,” he managed to gasp, slapping the armrest beside him. “The bloody contract! What’s next? He owns Jashem too?!” Another man snorted and leaned in, eyes glinting with ridicule. “Only the chairman can make that call. And last I checked, the chairman doesn’t wear cheap jeans and second-hand shoes.” The laughter doubled. It wasn’t just sound—it was assault. “You must really enj

  • Chapter 222: One More Chance

Andrew was slightly taken aback himself, though not in the way they thought. He hadn't known Amik had partnered with his company. Not because it wasn’t important, but because he hadn’t been keeping up. The CEO had begged him to visit the Jashem branch, to see the numbers, the growth, to meet the new partners. But Andrew hadn’t had the time—or the interest. He had poured his all into that company . He’d built it brick by brick. And when it began to rise, he didn’t cling to it. He didn’t need to see its shadow to know it still stood strong. He set it up to grow without him. He had built ten branches in the ten cities. Each one planted like a seed with deep roots. He had no idea the Jashem branch had grown so much. That it now commanded this kind of attention. That it had the clout to make or break careers. Andrew chuckled softly. The world is small. Smaller than pride. Still, he wouldn’t use it against the man. Not yet. He wouldn’t tamper with Amik’s contract. Bu

  • Chapter 221 : Smaller Than Pride

Silence fell in the room, Thick and heavy . No one spoke, not even Amik. Every man in that lounge had gone still, as if suddenly realizing they’d been standing beside royalty and hadn’t known it. Every man in that lounge knew exactly who he was now. “This is Amik Brandon, the CEO of Amiklin Corp” One of the men said out loud , his voice trembling with amazement “Of course it's him !” Another yelled in astonishment Amik Brandon. The man the whole of Jashem was buzzing about. The man whose name had been plastered across every media channel four days ago after the shocking announcement that A and U Group had partnered with him. A partnership of that level was unheard of. Almost mythical. Every tech CEO in the city had been trying for years to get A and U’s attention, and yet somehow, Amik had done it. Practically overnight, he'd become Jashem’s newest obsession. People wanted to know how he pulled it off. Was it innovation? Was it bribery? Was it sheer luck? It didn

  • Chapter 220 : Judge The Book By The Cover

Mr. Amik stood firm, eyes narrowing as Andrew prepared to walk past. His presence wasn’t loud, but the tension in his stance spoke volumes. To him, the idea of this plain-dressed stranger cutting ahead was nothing short of an insult. It wasn’t just impatience—it was disbelief. And somewhere beneath it, bruised pride that refused to bleed quietly. In Jashem City, you could size a man up before he even spoke. The city was built on performance, and everyone knew it. Wealth was never silent. It sparkled in diamond watches, strutted in limited-edition suits, and screamed from behind tinted luxury cars. That was the code. That was the order. And in this order, no rich man dressed in a shirt and faded jeans. So Amik didn’t need confirmation. He didn’t need names or stories. He had looked at Andrew, made a decision, and moved on. Lower class. Clearly. And now that man was stepping in before him? He felt his chest tighten with fury, the kind that didn’t explode—but boiled. H

  • Chapter 219 : The Meeting

Andrew decided to meet with Mr. Torino, the man Cain had mentioned—the one who supposedly held answers about the crimson herb. Whether the man could be trusted was still uncertain, but at this point, Andrew knew one thing for sure: the deeper he went into this web, the more every move mattered. When he arrived at the office, he saw five other men already seated in the narrow waiting area. They didn’t look like ordinary clients. Their suits were crisp, their silence loaded. Men like these didn’t sit in waiting rooms unless they were waiting for something very valuable—or someone very powerful. And none of them seemed like the type to be kept waiting for long. Andrew took a seat without a word. His eyes didn’t scan the room. He didn’t acknowledge anyone. There was no point in drawing attention to himself when all he wanted was information. His thoughts were elsewhere—fixed on the herb, Cain’s warning, and now this mysterious Mr. Torino. Minutes passed. He was still thi

  • Chapter 218 : Ten Steps Ahead

Andrew stood still, his jaw locked tight, eyes unreadable. The cold in his expression far sharper than any weapon aimed his way. Twenty guns. Twenty black barrels waiting for a command. But not a twitch crossed his features. There was no panic behind his eyes. He wasn’t thinking about the bullets or the weight of twenty triggers. His mind was far ahead. Past the fear. Past the noise. Locked on the only thing that mattered now—the herb. “I’ll sign on one condition,” Andrew said finally, his voice quiet but clear as he took a slow, unhurried step toward Cain. Cain's hand twitched, the papers on the desk rustling under his palm. “If you move an inch, I’ll order my men to shoot,” he snapped, slamming his palm down again, like that sound alone could make him feel powerful. “Sign the document. Once you do, we’ll start from there.” Andrew didn’t look at the paper. He didn’t look at the button. He only looked at Cain. And he knew. If Cain had really meant to kill him, he would
