Rise of the Titan

The earth shuddered with a frequency that could rattle the molars right out of one's jaw. The asphalt beneath Raka’s feet split open, creating dark, gaping trenches like the maws of monsters. Cement dust and glass shards rained down from the buildings surrounding the stadium, shrouding everything in a suffocating gray fog.

"Everyone, get away from the rift zone!" Raka shouted, his voice hoarse as he tried to drown out the roar of the splitting ground.

"Raka! Look at that!" Sari pointed toward the ruins of the main stadium, which was usually used for soccer matches.

The stadium's massive concrete walls exploded from the inside. A figure taller than a streetlight crawled out from the darkness of the wreckage. Its skin was a deep charcoal gray, resembling the texture of rough granite, with sharp bone protrusions lining its back and arms. Every time the creature stepped on the ground, a fresh tremor rippled through the asphalt.

"That’s... no ordinary zombie," Jaka whispered, his face deathly pale.

[Warning: World Boss 'Earth Crust Titan' has awakened!]

[Status: Level 25 - Armor-Type Mutation.]

[HP: 25,000/25,000]

"Twenty-five thousand HP?" Raka cursed, his eyes narrowing as he saw the massive red health bar floating above the monster's head. "Dammit, this is insane."

"Hey, Rank Two!" a familiar, heavy voice called out from the left side of the street.

Raka turned to see Bara standing there, surrounded by a dozen of his fully armed men. Bara’s giant machete was now glowing with a crimson aura far more intense than it had been a few weeks ago. It seemed the man hadn't wasted any time leveling up either.

"Bara," Raka greeted him coldly, his hand instinctively gripping the hilt of his new black sword. "You’re still alive, I see."

"Don't start with me, Raka!" Bara barked, pointing at the Titan, which had begun to let out a roar that shattered windows within a one-kilometer radius. "That monster just wiped out half my squad inside the stadium. Firearms are useless! My machete couldn't even scratch its hide!"

"So what do you want? You want us to work together?" Raka asked cynically.

"You think I want to?" Bara spat on the ground, but his eyes remained fixed on the monster. "But the System just gave me a notification. If this Boss isn't dead within an hour, this entire sector will be deleted. We’ll all die like fools!"

Raka fell silent for a moment, staring at his own system screen. The same message was flashing in a warning red. Losers are deleted. He took a deep breath and turned toward Sari a iand the other Players who were beginning to gather in fear.

"Sari, take the wounded behind that building!" Raka commanded. "Bara, listen to me. If you want to survive, tell your men to stop firing blindly. Bullets are just a waste of stamina!"

"Then how do we take it down, Genius?" Bara growled.

"We need bait," Raka said, his eyes glowing blue as he activated Predator’s Eye: Insight. "I’ll find its weak point. You and your men have to distract it. Can you do that?"

"Bait? You think I’m a worm?" Bara snorted, but then he flashed a wild grin. "Fine. But if you fail to find it, I’ll take your head myself before that monster does!"

Bara turned and shouted to his group. "Everyone! Use provocation skills! Lure that giant toward the north!"

The battle erupted. Bara’s group began launching various active skills. Fireballs and energy blasts slammed into the Titan’s chest, but the monster didn't even flinch. Its steel-like armor seemed to absorb the full force of the attacks.

Where... where is the weak point? Raka thought, his eyes scanning the giant’s body with lightning speed.

The monochrome world in Raka’s vision showed not a single red circle. The Titan’s entire body was covered in gray, signifying perfect protection. The creature raised a hand the size of a car and slammed it into the ground.

Boom!

Three of Bara’s men were tossed aside like ragdolls, killed instantly before they could even scream.

"Dammit! Raka! Do something, fast!" Bara yelled as he leaped to avoid falling concrete.

"Just a little longer!" Raka shot back, his teeth gritted in intense concentration.

Suddenly, the Titan opened its mouth wide, preparing to unleash an energy blast or a destructive roar. In that split second, a small red circle pulsed deep inside its throat. It was only for a flash, but it was enough for Raka.

"Found it!" Raka shouted. "Bara! Attack its knee joints! Bring it down!"

"Are you crazy? I told you its skin is impenetrable!"

"Just do it, you bastard! Use your strongest attacks simultaneously on its left leg!" Raka commanded with an authority that made Bara pause for a fraction of a second.

Bara gnashed his teeth and leaped high. "Everyone! Focus on the left leg! Now!"

A dozen Players simultaneously unleashed their most powerful skills. Explosion after explosion rocked the Titan’s knee joint. Though the skin didn't tear, the repeated impact caused the giant’s balance to falter. The Titan stumbled and fell to its knees, creating a massive crater in the asphalt.

"Now!" Raka blurred forward with god-like speed.

He used the wreckage of a car as a stepping stone to launch himself toward the Titan’s face. As the monster opened its mouth to groan in pain, Raka was already in the air, right in front of its jaws.

Die!

Raka thrust his black sword with all his might into the creature’s throat, directly into the center of the pulsing red circle. The blade sank in up to the hilt, followed by a burst of dark energy from his Critical Strike skill.

The Titan convulsed violently. Its body stiffened for a moment before letting out a piercing shriek that could burst eardrums. Blue light bled from the cracks in its skin, and slowly, the giant began to crumble into digital dust.

[World Boss Defeated!]

[You have gained 5,000 EXP. Level Up to Level 26!]

Raka landed on the ground, gasping for air, his body trembling from extreme exhaustion. Bara walked over, wiping blood from his face with the back of his hand.

"That was close," Bara muttered, staring at the pile of dust that remained of the Titan. "I didn't think your crazy idea would actually work."

"We were just lucky," Raka replied shortly. He walked toward the center of the dust pile, searching for the loot typically dropped by a Boss.

Amidst the rapidly decaying remains, Raka saw something shimmering. It wasn't a sword, nor a potion, but a small, square object made of a strange metallic material.

"What is that?" Sari approached, her face filled with both curiosity and anxiety.

Raka picked the object up. As his finger touched its surface, a dark purple system screen one he had never seen before appeared in front of him.

[Object Detected: Data-Link Chip 09-B.]

[Status: Encrypted.]

[Description: Contains experiment logs from the Initial Phase of Project 'Earth Cleansing'.]

Raka felt his heart stop for a beat. He touched the screen, and a static-filled recording began to play inside his head. The voice was cold and emotionless, much like the voice of the Architect.

"...Subject 004 is showing a satisfactory response to high-level pressure. Continue second-stage evolution. If the subject fails the Supremacy Duel, proceed with immediate energy harvesting..."

Raka looked at Bara, then at Sari. His once-calm face turned incredibly tense. This object wasn't just a reward; it was proof that every drop of blood they spilled was merely a scripted scenario.

"Raka? What’s wrong?" Sari asked, touching Raka’s arm, which had suddenly gone cold.

Raka didn't answer. His eyes were locked on the chip in his hand. Behind this small device, he could feel the giant eyes of the Architect watching him from behind the sky of digital code, waiting for his next move.

"This game..." Raka whispered, his voice trembling with overflowing rage. "...is far filthier than I imagined."

Suddenly, the chip in Raka’s hand began to glow a bright red, and a new countdown appeared across the entire city sky, replacing the sun that was just about to rise.

[Warning: 'Anomaly Cleansing' Protocol activated in 60 seconds.]

"Raka! Look at the sky!" Bara screamed with a note of panic Raka had never heard before.

Raka looked up, and his heart sank. The blue sky was cracking, revealing the darkness of a void filled with thousands of destruction machines descending toward the earth.

“All right,” Raka said, his voice steady despite his exhaustion. “Then we go together.” He looked at the rippling portal before him, then at Kael, who met his gaze with eyes full of determination. “You lead the way, Kael.”Kael nodded and stepped toward the vortex of light that was beginning to form. Behind him, Sari, Bara, and Raka followed. The moment they crossed the portal’s threshold, the strange sensation of opposing forces pulling at them returned. This time, however, it felt more controlled, as though they were being guided by a gentle hand.“Still just as weird as the first time,” Bara muttered, feeling through the air that seemed like a thin mist. “I hope we don’t end up in the middle of nowhere again.”“I don’t think so,” Sari replied, her eyes scanning their surroundings. “The energy here feels different. More... organized. Like we’re being directed toward a specific destination.”They arrived in a place that felt unfamiliar and yet strangely familiar at the same time. It

The impact sounded like scorching coals grinding against each other."These aren't just defense programs, Raka!" Sari cried, panic rising as she scanned the creatures. "Their structure is far too complex! They're reacting to emotions!""Emotions?" Bara laughed mockingly, dark energy gathering in his hand and forming a whip ready to strike. "Then I've got plenty to offer them!"Bara's dark energy whip lashed out, striking one of the shadows. The creature shrieked, a sound more like a serpent's hiss than a roar, and its body unraveled into swirling black smoke."One down!" Bara shouted, only for triumph to be replaced by alarm moments later."You idiot!" Kael yelled, his eyes widening as the second shadow entity shifted its focus toward him. "They're not just attacking! "This... this isn't like before," Sari whispered, her voice tightening as her body felt stretched and compressed, like dough being kneaded by a giant hand. "The distortion... it's gentler, but far more intense at the molecular level. I think this Gate was designed to 'deliver' us, not just 'throw' us somewhere.""It feels like free-falling, but without the fear," Bara added, tilting his head upward. There was no clear up or down here, only the sensation of drifting through an infinite void. "The light at the end... it's getting closer."Kael didn't answer. His eyes were tightly shut, his brow furrowed."I... I'm sensing so many things," he murmured. "Not echoes of nothingness anymore. This... these are ripples of energy. Thousands, millions of them. Like whispers from a chaotic dreamscape.""Ripples of energy?" Raka asked, his Cosmic Light ready to respond if anything unexpected happened. "What do you see, Kael?""Not see, Raka. Feel."Kael opened his eyes, and for a brief moment, Rak

"The Gate... it's truly gone," Kael whispered, his voice trembling like a string pulled too tight. "I can still sense its energy. This isn't just an anomaly. It feels like... like the Gate never existed.""What do you mean it never existed? We just passed through it, Kael!" Bara pressed, his voice rising as the panic he had been trying to suppress finally surfaced. "This is impossible. We have to go back. We have to find a way." "Raka, look at that vortex in the center!" Sari shouted, her voice trembling behind her protective helmet. "Its energy pressure is ten times greater than the remnants of the black hole we sealed at the North Pole last month! This scanner can't even read its frequency!""I know, Sari. But we don't have any other choice," Raka replied, his eyes unblinking as he stared at the web of alien light spinning before them. "This gate is the only way to stop what's left of yesterday's threat from spreading into our dimension.""Don't tell me you're starting to doubt now, Raka," Bara hissed, stepping forward with both hands wrapped in the glow of dark energy that was now far more stable than it had been during the great battle in Earth's core. “That voice,” Sari whispered, her face still pale from the fear they had just endured, her eyes fixed on Raka. “Who are the ‘Original Guardians of Balance’? And why do they see us as... an anomaly?”Raka took a deep breath, trying to understand the new vibration he could feel. “I don’t know, Sari. But the echo I felt... it’s older than the Architect. Older than the Devourers.” He turned toward Kael, who now stood beside him and his ship, his eyes radiating pure Cosmic Light. “Kael, you felt it too, didn’t you?”Kael nodded, looking slightly startled by the depth of his connection. “Yes, Your Majesty Raka. It felt like... a memory. A memory of an order that has long been lost. And they... they don’t want anything to change.”“A lost order?” Bara asked, his bright red aura fading into a calmer hue, though the tension within him remained. “Is that what caused them to awaken?”“Maybe,” Raka replied. “The new pact we activated, the Cosmic Symphony we created... it disrupted their old order
