The sun rose slowly over Ironsphire Academy. It casted bright light across the sky. The air was charged with excitement and at the same time, fear. Today’s duel had every student whispering, pacing, and speculating.

Because today, Kai was facing John Kash. John was no ordinary opponent. He was a level 9 combatant, known for his brutality. John had earned the nickname “The Cruel Iron Fist of Ironsphire.”

Last year, he fractured the skull of a level 8 opponent, even after the duel was declared over. He was dangerous, uncontrollable and undefeated.

Inside the dormitory, Kai stood in silence. He tightened the wrappings around his wrists. His eyes were cold and focused.

DING! The system pinged.

‘System Reminder!

Objective: Defeat John Kash in ONE MOVE.

Penalty: Quest failure if more than one attack is used.

Reward: Unlock Level 3 of the Immortality Protocol. It grants extended regeneration and partial invulnerability.’

Kai exhaled. He was calm despite the whisper’s brewing outside.

"I was broken by the top ten elites. Made to suffer and was tormented. It is my time. One by one they will feel my fury," Kai echoed within himself, each word pulsing with resolve and fury. His eyes snapped open with a bright gleam as he was being carried on a stretcher toward the school’s clinic. Blood no longer stained his body. His skin bore no bruises. His muscles, which had moments ago been lifeless, twitched with regained strength.“Stop,” he commanded with a loud voice. The enforcers carrying him froze mid-step. They were stunned by the sudden power in his voice. Councilor Locke turned from behind them and his eyes wide.“Kai?” he echoed within. Kai sat up straight, swinging his legs down. He stood on his own with no help. Gasps echoed across the courtyard as dozens of students watched. His flesh once broken was now unscathed. His body gleamed with power. The injuries that had crippled him just hours ago had disappeared like a passing dream. It was as if it never happened.

  • Chapter 70: Bound by Humiliation

“How long will I endure this humiliation?” Kai muttered through clenched teeth, his voice was low and raw. He could still taste the filth from the meal hall floor. The memory burned through his mind like acid. His fists trembled at his sides, and blood crusted at the corners of his lips.He remembered the laughter, the cruel stares and his own knees bruised against stone. Rage simmered beneath the surface, his nostrils simmered.“I’ll make sure to pay them back,” he growled. “Heavier than they ever think.” His hand tightened against his cloth. He walked through the corridor slowly and his body still aching from the beating. The air was tense, every student he passed gave him a wide berth. Some looked at him with pity, others with indifference. No one dared to speak. Then…BAM!A sharp slap cracked against the back of his head.Kai stumbled forward, staggering toward the wall. Before he could gather himself, a strong kick swept his feet off the ground.THUD!His body crashed against th

The bell rang across Ironspire Academy, indicating it was meal time. The smell of roasted grain and spiced vegetables wafted across the grounds. It lured students to the massive meal hall.Kai walked in with steady steps, his uniform clean and his face calm but unreadable. He moved straight to his usual table near the center. It was a corner where Xiren Wren and Darius Vane were already seated. Both friends nodded in greeting, but concern lingered in their eyes.Kai sat quietly, picking up his tray of food and ready to have a bite. But just as he took the first bite… BANG!The tray was slapped out of his hands with a loud crash. The contents scattered all over the cemented floor. Vegetables, sauce, and bread smudged across the ground like a cruel joke. Kai smirked and lifted his eyes. Standing above him were the Top Ten Elite Students. They were all in their black-stitched elite robes. Lawson, the smug brute from yesterday, stood at the front, flanked by Serah, Corven, and others. T

Luxuries only the elite could afford.Once they were seated, Talor stood before them. “There is a matter that requires your attention,” he began slowly. “A boy has risen. A mere student called Kai Draven. He didn’t only kill Mordax Rex, but also brought down Councilor Vane. And now, he’s claimed the highest student position in this school. He’s feared and untouchable.”The elites murmured in disbelief.“Who is this boy?” one of them asked coldly.Talor’s eyes darkened. “Kai Draven.”Silence fell among them. Then, one of them leaned forward, cracking his knuckles. “Then it’s time we teach this Kai a lesson. A very painful one.” He intoned. Another smirked. “Let’s make him wish he never picked up a sword.”Talor’s lips curled in satisfaction. “That’s what I wanted to hear.”………..The morning bell rang loud and shar

Far away, in the pitch-black chamber of the shadow man, a circle of flickering red runes glowed on the floor. Around the circle, ten screens came to life. One of you must rise to avenge him.”The ten elite students remained silent, their expressions serious and unreadable. The shadow man’s hooded figure stepped into view. “This is war now. And I’ve summoned you… to be my generals.”His voice dropped to a chilling whisper.“The time has come.”……………..The early rays of dawn pierced through the fog which covered Ironspire Academy as Councilor Locke strolled along the stone path leading to the training field. The heavy wooden doors of the judgment hall creaked open, and the enforcer in charge of the investigation stepped in. There was a sealed scroll tucked under his arm. His boots echoed across the marble floor as he approached Councilor Locke, who sat at the head of the circular table flanked by the other council members. The morning light filtered through the high stained-glass windows which casted colors across the room, but none of it could soften the tension seated in Locke’s heart. The enforcer bowed respectfully, unrolling the scroll. “Councilor Locke, the final investigation is complete. Everything that Kai reported regarding the conspiracy against Dr. Ryne Elkar checks out. All files, signatures, and dates correspond with the journal recovered from Mordax Rex’s hidden vault. There is no doubt. Dr. Elkar was framed.” He detailed.Councilor Locke’s shoulders sagged as though a weight he had ignored for too long finally made itself known. He closed his eyes for a long moment before
