Victor came to a sudden halt as he realized that he was the only one laughing. The others at the table gazed at him with impassive expressions. "My name is Gabriella Smith. Sign the marriage contract papers, and everything I mentioned will be yours for the next three to four years," the stern lady boss introduced herself, gesturing toward another file on the table.

Several neatly arranged files caught Victor's attention. He furrowed his brow, struggling to place her. He had no connections with the elite of Vegas City, making it difficult to trace Gabriella's background.

With a dismissive wave of his hand, he replied, "Not interested."

"Your mother has only three days to live. How do you plan to afford her surgery when you're blacklisted from Vegas's entertainment circle?" Gabriella's cold, emotionless voice stopped Victor in his tracks as he turned to leave.

Victor's expression turned to one of disbelief as he regarded Gabriella's words with suspicion. A file was promptly opened and placed on the table before him. Glancing at the file's name and the medical report, he realized it pertained to his mother, who lay in a hospital bed in a coma. Shockingly, Gabriella's statement was indeed truthful.

"I will sign," Victor declared resolutely. He picked up the marriage contract and commenced reading through the terms and conditions. As he delved deeper, he couldn't help but ponder whether this was a marriage or merely a business arrangement. Rendered speechless, he turned to Gabriella and inquired, "So, does this mean that after three years, we will quietly part ways?"

"Yes," came Gabriella's emotionless reply.

"I agree," Victor assented, signing the marriage contract upon completing his review.

Looking up at him, Edna said, "I will organize a management team and instruct the PR team to clean up your mess."

Content with the resolution of the matter, the priest then led them into the church.

Content with the resolution, the priest ushered them into the church. Victor felt his palms grow sweaty as he caught sight of the assembled guests before the altar, poised to witness their marriage vows.

Even as he spoke the solemn words of commitment, Victor struggled to believe he was now a married man. If it weren't for the wedding certificate in his hands, he might have thought it all a dream.

[System Notification]

"Congratulations on joining Hi-Music. perform at a metro station to unlock your soulful voice."

A bitter smile tugged at Victor's lips as he noticed the system had suddenly elevated the mission, all because he had secured a contract with an international record label. He had half a mind to curse the system.

"Get in the car," a cold voice jolted him back to reality. Collecting himself, he saw that it was Gabriella who had spoken and was already seated in the car.

Reluctantly, he climbed into the car and it started. Seated next to his new wife, who was engrossed in a series of phone calls, he overheard Gabriella telling someone named Mr. Sun about their recent marriage and her fulfilment of her grandfather's wish. Victor quickly lost interest in eavesdropping on her conversation.

After an hour-long drive, they pulled up to an imposing state in the northern wing of Dragon Estate. Gabriella continued her phone conversation as she stepped out of the car, followed by her assistant Edna. Meanwhile, Victor took in the surroundings of his new home, admiring the well-maintained estate, the lush greenery, and the peaceful, spacious neighbourhood.

As he surveyed the scene, he hurried inside, only to find a woman in her sixties standing before Gabriella.

"Mrs. Wang, this is my husband, Victor," Gabriella said, and then added, "Victor, meet Mrs. Wang; she is in charge of the household." After the brief introduction, she swiftly retreated to her study with Edna in tow.

Unfazed by Gabriella's distant demeanour, Mrs. Wang greeted Victor warmly. "Young master, please have a seat; I will prepare tea for you."

"Mrs. Wang, there is no need for that. Tell my wife I will be heading to the metro station; I will be back soon," Victor responded, eager to fulfill his mission without delay.

Mrs. Wang was taken aback but smiled brighter at Victor's mention of Gabriella as his wife. "Young master, you should return early for lunch. I will prepare your favourite dish, and if you have any special requests, I will see to it."

Victor shook his head and reiterated, "Aunty, I'm not fussy about food; as long as there's enough, I'm satisfied."

After speaking, Victor took four steps toward the door before realizing he had no money for transport to the metro station. He scratched his head and turned around, looking awkward as he stammered, "Aunty Wang, I, uh..."

Mrs. Wang was taken aback by her young master's actions. "Young master, since you address me as Aunty, feel free to make your request."

Feeling embarrassed, Victor lowered his head and said sheepishly, "Aunty Wang, I've lost my wallet and don't have money for transport to the metro station. Can you help me out?"

Mrs. Wang smiled kindly after hearing Victor's request. She hurried inside the house and returned with some money for Victor. "Don't forget to come back early, Young Master."

"Thank you, Aunty Wang," Victor said gratefully as he placed his wedding certificate on the table and left the house.

Due to the exclusive nature of the area, public taxis were prohibited from entering the estate, as most residents were prominent figures who owned their own vehicles. Victor had to walk out of the estate before flagging down a taxi to take him back to his rented apartment.

In a hurry, he changed into a sweatpant and a blue T-shirt, and then paused to consider as he donned a mask and picked up his guitar. He left his apartment, flagging down a taxi to take him to the metro station.

As the taxi dropped him off at the bustling metro station, Victor felt his confidence waver. He stood nervously before the bustling crowds of people entering and exiting the station, swallowing hard.
