As Constantine was hesitating whether or not to take the risk to let Ruger use the dormant powers in his body, he suddenly heard the rumbling behind him caused by the countless number of dooms charging towards him.

At that moment, Constantine's expression changed and he no longer had the time to consider things anymore.

For a moment, Constantine had forgotten where he was and that he was currently in danger... how could he have the luxury of time to start, considering if Ruger was scheming against him now?

Even if it turns out that there was indeed a scheme afoot, Constantine had no choice but to bite the bullet and take Ruger up on his offer. That was the only way he could possibly escape here with his life intact.

At this moment, Constantine forced out the strength to continue running while turning his head back to see how close the dooms were to him. The scene he greeted him when Constantine turned his head around almost caused his heart to stop.

Right now, there was actually a doom that was currently right behind Constantine, baring its fangs at him and attempting to take a bite out of his back.

The doom was so close to Constantine that he could smell the putrid stink of its horrible breath. Just by opening its mouth and stretching its tongue, the doom could almost reach Constantine's nape and rancid saliva landed on Constantine's back, drenching him in a foul smell.

Constantine was so afraid that he miraculously managed to dig up some strength, some god knows where, and added a spurt of speed to his already exhausted legs, gradually widening the distance between himself and the doom.

"Damn it!"

"It's a good thing these dooms are stupid and didn't use any extraordinary powers. If not, I would be done by now!"

Constantine cursed softly under his breath after managing to pull some distance away from the doom. He was really glad that the doom didn't think to use any extraordinary powers to attack him after being so close to him.

Actually, it wasn't that the doom didn't think to use extraordinary power to attack him; it was just that it couldn't. For dooms, there was a strict hierarchy of power that was governed solely based on how large they were. When it came to the dooms, the larger they were, the more powerful they were. Only when a doom reached a certain size would they be able to gradually grasp extraordinary powers to use?

Dooms that were one meter tall were the weakest, and they couldn't use any extraordinary powers whatsoever. They could only rely on their powerful physiques to fight, as well as certain innate racial traits.

For example, the doom that had attacked Constantine in the hospital when he was still in a coma was only one meter tall and it could flatten itself to blend into dark corners and shadowy areas. This is not an extraordinary power but an innate trait that dooms as it had from birth. It was also evidenced by the fact that when it attacked Constantine; it had only relied on its powerful body to shoot towards him at the speed of a bullet.

Even for dooms that were two meters in height, they couldn't awaken any extraordinary powers. It is only when a doom reached the height of five meters that it could start using some extraordinary powers to battle. Any doom below five meters in height that looked like it could use extraordinary powers was simply making use of their innate characteristics to pass off as powers.

It is because humans still lack an understanding of the dooms that they usually made this mistake.

In some cases, the humans were really lucky...

When the space rifts had first appeared and the dooms started invading earth, the rift had only been small enough to allow dooms that were only one meter and two meters tall to pass through. This made it so that with the technology on earth, it was possible to resist their invasion and come up with countermeasures to fight against the dooms so that when more powerful dooms eventually came through the rift, they could put up an effective resistance.

Constantine did not have the time to consider all of this as he was still shaken by the close shave with the doom. But the thing about that school Constantine so much was not the fact that he had almost become doom chowder... it was what he had seen behind the small dooms chasing after him that terrified him greatly.

Following behind the crowd of small dooms was a smaller crowd of larger dooms that were five meters tall and above. These dooms were very massive and their size was simply daunting. Watching those dooms coming after him was like witnessing a whole building complex grow legs and start to run.

The thought of it even was enough to blow somebody's mind!

It was only now that Constantine knew the sandstorm was actually caused as a result of all these dooms crowding together and moving. As their large feet stepped on the sandy ground, it whipped up a storm of sand and dust that covered the ground.

To be honest, Constantine was terribly frightened!

Dooms that were one meter and two meters tall were already too much for Constantine to handle, but seeing those behind them caused him to go into despair.

On earth, one-meter and two-meter dooms were the most commonly seen. After one year of bitter resistance, the humans were already strong enough to completely deal with any doom of this size whenever they showed up with minimal damage sustained to life and property.

Dooms that were three meters large might be difficult but not impossible, but at five meters, that was when things became hard and it would take a bitter struggle to fight them off with great amounts of damage being done to the surrounding areas. Anything larger than that was simply a disaster waiting to happen. Fortunately, not many dooms of this size had appeared. The largest doom to have ever appeared was a ten-meter doom that only managed to squeeze out of the space rift and come to earth.

This was the only doom to have reached ten meters in height to appear on earth and when it did, the devastation it had wrought was impossible to believe.

A whole city had almost been completely leveled, and it had taken the efforts of the meta humans that had recently appeared on earth to finally defeat the doom. But even at that, the earth had won a pyrrhic victory at most and there was nothing worth celebrating.

Right now, these dooms that were so difficult to find on earth were actually following behind Constantine at a leisurely pace. There were hundreds of five-meter tall dooms and tens of dooms that ranged from six meters to eight meters in height. Constantine could also count three ten-meter dooms in the crowd. And this was not the most frightening...

At the very back of the crowd of doom was a monster that exceeded ten meters by Constantine's estimate.

Constantine could only see a faint outline of the creature, so he could be sure if it was actually a doom or a small hill. The creature was stationary and didn't move along with the rest. But despite that, Constantine could feel a suffocating pressure emanating from that creature just from looking at it. If not for his sufficiently powerful soul that had been strengthened after fusing with Ruger's soul, Constantine might have simply lost his soul from that one look.

That creature... whatever it was... gave Constantine too much of a fright and his back was soaked in sweat. Right now, he could be bothered to care if Ruger was scheming against him or not, and he was willing to take the risk just to get out of here. The only reason he had lasted until now even is that his body had been strengthened greatly after inheriting Ruger's powers.

Even if Constantine couldn't use those powers, his body had already been reborn and could no longer be measured by the standards of normal humans.

With his mind made up, Constantine quickly shouted to Ruger to help him.

"Alright, old man, you win! Now quickly get me out of here before that creature horrible creature behind us decides it wants to have a snack!"

Hearing this, Ruger finally responded.

"Hahaha!" Ruger laughed loudly inside Constantine's head as he said in excitement.

"you said it, kid, don't regret it later. Now let go of your body and let me take over. Also, you'd better steel yourself and be prepared cause things are about to get rough."

With that said, Ruger quickly took over Constantine's body and lightning started to flash all over his body as a terrible and all-encompassing aura gradually spread from within.

It was like a terrible beast was gradually being awakened from the depths of Constantine's body.

With his forehead covered in a nervous sweat, the leader watched as the rift turned into a black dot in space before finally closing completely. As soon as the rift closed, the leader’s shoulders dropped heavily as he breathed a deep sigh of relief. He suddenly felt weak at this moment as the pressure he was feeling in his heart was liberated, making him feel like he would suddenly collapse on the floor. But his training prevented him from doing so. Without the heavy weight of the rift hanging over his head, the leader could finally relax and breathe easily. Taking a moment to regain his composure, the leader turned to captain Keith and reported. “Sir, the rift had finally been closed.”“Good,” captain Keith responded. He continued, “Station a few men to keep watch here and report anything that happens. We don’t want the rift being opened again from the other side. In a while, this place will be turned into a quarantined zone as we wait for the tech guys to arrive and give this p

  • Back To Earth

The leader hurried to close the rift, which consisted of detonating a set of small special grenades in the small room.On opposite sides of the rift, there were two tall pillar-like objects emitting pulsing light that shine on the dark rift. These two objects were spatial anchors... a kind of stabilizer that was used to maintain an open rift to prevent it from closed prematurely. Like I said before, natural rifts were more stable and could remain open for a very long time without closing. Instead of worrying about keeping a natural rift open, one would worry instead about getting it too close. On the other hand, an artificial rift was difficult to maintain, so stabilizers were needed to keep it open. Human research on space was very slow, and they hadn’t reached the point where they could open and close rifts in other worlds easily. The spatial anchors were a product of genius that had accidentally blossomed to fruition. It was with this anchor technology that the humans were confid

With one last look at Constantine, the leader finally stepped through the rift. In as much as he was reluctant to leave, the leader knew that staying would not help at all. Instead, it would bring more trouble to Constantine.Who told him to be weak and that he couldn’t lend his strength to Constantine? For that matter, whose fault was it that Earth was too weak to fight against the doom? There was nobody to blame, and they could only blame themselves. In any case, it wasn’t like the leader’s troubles were over. Waiting on the other side of the rift was a whole other set of problems that the leader would have to deal with...As soon as the leader came face to face with his superior. This was a man with the body of a giant. Standing at more than two meters tall, with large burly arms like the barrel of a tank, shoulders as broad as vinyl, and a hulking frame that towered over everybody else, dwarfing them in his shadow. This person was the superior officer in charge of the rescue miss

The leader’s face paled terribly when he saw the twenty-meter-tall doom still standing after taking that powerful lightning ball and coming out unfazed. He thought, ‘This is the end!’When the leader thought that he would be flattened, not meat paste in the next moment, his eyes opened wide in fear as he supported Constantine with his body. The leader's eyes were looking forward in a daze as he awaited his inevitable end. But after waiting for a few seconds, nothing happened. Shocked, the leader looked at the twenty-meter-tall doom in the distance, only to see that it was standing still without moving at all. Puzzled, the leader paid attention to it. That was when he noticed something he hadn’t done before. As the twenty-meter-tall doom stood silently in place, its dune-like body seemed to be loosening as sand flowed down to the desert continuously. Seeing this state, a single thought entered the leader’s mind...“It’s injured!”Once this thought entered his mind, the leader was ecs

  • Unfazed

The twenty-meter-tall doom finally revealed itself from underneath the sand. This was the first time the leader was seeing it and it was as shocking as he expected it to be. Figure-wise, the twenty-meter-tall doom was no different from the rest of the dooms. It still had the same dull red skin color that was like rust or dried blood and it possessed the same bloated body. All of these were common features of the creatures known as dooms. Still, compared to the other dooms, there were a few differences between them, the most obvious of which was the twenty-meter height that this menace stood. Another different feature was that, unlike the other dooms that possessed a perfect physical structure, the twenty-meter-tall doom seemed more like a mass of sand packed together in a single cluster. Its body was made up entirely of grains of sand that flowed constantly. The twenty-meter-tall doom was like a giant walking dune, with no fixed physical form except for the overall structure that

  • First Look At The Face Of Terror

Bzzt! Bzzt!A powerful ball of lightning floated inches above Constantine’s head, giving off buzzing sounds of electricity as it hung suspended in the air. A layer of sweat covered Constantine’s face as exhaustion threatened to send him to his knees. Constantine’s arms were like lead, heavy, and it took all of his willpower to keep them upright to support the lightning ball. Hu!Resisting the urge to wipe the sweat from his eyes, Constantine stared dead ahead at the threat coming his way. The lightning ball above him had a diameter of five meters and it had taken almost all his power to condense it. Its power was naturally great, and it carried a shocking mite that was enough to scare a ten-meter-tall doom into retreating. But despite this, Constantine was clear that his lightning ball was not enough to stop the menace that was targeting him. A twenty-meter-tall doom! This should be the strongest doom that any human had ever encountered. Nothing was known about this doom. Probably
