Benjamin was shocked when he saw this. How is this possible? His grandfather had personally handed this black card to him, promising that it held up to $3 billion, so what was going on? Why was the payment declined? Did Hunter Whiteridge lie to him? Benjamin immediately threw that thought out of his head. There was absolutely no way a man like that would lie to him about money of all things.

First of all, the man is a Trillionaire, so it would be a very shameful act on his part to fool his newly found grandson, something that had been proven with a DNA test to confirm it. Also, the payment had been declined rather than the black details being incorrect. This means that the black card is indeed legit.

There was also no mention of ‘insufficient balance’, so the issue had to be something else. Unfortunately, the audiences watching this weren't interested in thinking this through.

As soon as the director saw the confusion on Benjamin's face, he snatched the phone from his hands to get a look for himself. “Payment declined, huh?” He chuckled with aicking tone as he stared at Benjamin with disdain. “Well, this ended as expected."

The crowd burst out laughing once more. Benjamin had dug his grave and now, he had to lie in it.

Mrs. Knox began tearing up while shaking her head. “No. God, no. I can't bear to watch this.”

Max could only try and appease the old woman while staring at his best friend with utmost concern.

As for Andrew and Alexa, they have felt a greater sense of superiority once the director confirmed that Benjamin's payment was declined.

“My goodness!” Andrew brought a hand to his forehead as he began laughing boisterously. “And to think I actually gave you a chance to prove something you didn't have! It’s my fault for thinking any good of you. In the end, all you showed everyone here is that not only are you a lowlife scum, you're also a disgusting liar and a thief.”

“Exactly!” Alexa immediately followed up. “That black card must have been stolen from someone unfortunate enough to cross paths with you. You probably didn't have the pin code to withdraw anything and that's why the payment was declined!” She pointed accusingly at Benjamin. “Honestly, at this point, you should be picked up! You're nothing but a delinquent!”

Max and Mrs. Knox were feeling scared for Benjamin. These accusations from Andrew and Alexa would likely be easily believed after what they had just witnessed. Yet, even if the two of them didn't know the whole truth, they know for a fact that Benjamin wasn't a thief.

The crowd, unfortunately, didn't think this way. They began shouting and pointing at Benjamin, calling him a thief and asking for his arrest immediately.

It was at this moment that Benjamin received a notification, and he quickly snatched his phone back before the director could look at it. He found he had received an email from a top bank and he opened it to find the content, noting the most important part.

[Please, activate your card to finalise your payment process.]

Benjamin let out a breath of relief. He was right to believe in his grandfather. It turned out that he simply hadn't activated the card before usage.

In seconds, Benjamin activated his card. He then ignored his surroundings once more as he began filling the black card details once again, ready to donate the $10 million.

“Hey, loser!” Andrew called out to Benjamin. “What are you still doing on your phone, you pretentious bastard?! Who do you think you're still fooling by now?! It's over! You lost, alright?! Now, it's time to keep your end of the bargain!”

Alexa giggled with a mocking tone. “Hey, everyone!” She turned to the crowd. “Don't forget to capture this moment on your phone. Also, let's post this under specific hashtags and then we'll make it trend on all social media platforms!”

Another idea suddenly crossed Alexa's devious mind and she turned her gaze back to Benjamin

“Hold on! Let's make this even better. Since your grandmother is a professional cleaner, then she should go down on her knees and….” She looked down at her lover’s shoes and she smirked. “She must pick Andrew's shoes to properly apologise for what she has done as well.”

At that moment, Benjamin furiously glared up. “Alexa! Watch what you say to my grandmother from now on!” He never expected this woman he used to love with all his heart would go this far. He felt like he had been seriously blind to fall in love with such a woman like this.

“What?! Did I say anything wrong here?!” Alexa daringly challenged, refusing to back down. She then turned to the director. “Sir, what do you say?”

The director glanced at Andrew, eager to please a notable member of the Tyrone family. “Of course, one must take responsibility for their actions. Since both Benjamin and his grandmother have acted unruly, then it's only proper that they both do the needful to correct it. No one is too old to learn a lesson.”

Benjamin tried not to be too surprised by the nonsense this director was spilling. He was basically saying it was okay that his grandmother was ridiculed in public, making it seem like it was nothing but a trivial matter. This pissed him off. How did such a man like this end up as the director of this school?

It was at this moment that the director felt his phone buzzing. He retrieved it from his suit pocket, and he found a notification of a credit alert in the official account of the university.

The director's hand began shaking as he clicked the notification, opening it to find the full content. A sum of $10 million has been paid as donation, and Benjamin's name was there. His world felt like it was about to crash at this moment. “No, how is this possible?!”

Down at the bottom of the throne, April was caught off guard by the sudden psychic attack, despite having her guards up against the older woman. She felt her consciousness shake immensely, which was then followed by an incredible headache that made her feel like her brain was about to explode. Therefore, April immediately let out a scream, but quickly stormed to face up to the older woman with a glare. There was no need to raise her hand as she psychologically fought back against the mental attack. It was like wrapping up a bag of ants and throwing it away.As April stood to face Anna, she calmed herself and redirected the mental attack back at the older woman. To the side, Benjamin had heard his girlfriend's scream and was, of course, worried.“Angel, are you….”Benjamin was distracted, and Don Christ Stoop didn't waste this chance to rush straight at him with incredible speed, bashing his fist straight into the younger man's chest. The sound was like a huge metallic tower falling t

As the thrown weapons and shot bullets made contact with the wall of the force field that April had put up, it was like they had been stuck and could no longer proceed forward. The known kind of force fields would simply repel any attack, sending it back to the attacker and making sure that it never reaches the target. But April's force field is different. Made from her manipulation of telekinesis into a light film that could morph into any shape she desired, any item that touched it would instantly be stuck under the effect of the telekinetically charged forcefield. This shocked the hooded subordinates who had all thrown these attacks at both April and Benjamin. They truly didn't expect that she would be capable of this. But April wasn't done. With her palm opened wide, her five fingers curled inward and stretched back outwards in rhythms, as if she were playing the piano, these weapons began to run their direction back at each target that had thrown them.Seeing this, there was a l

Benjamin replied this time.“To study the enemies, of course, both inside and out.”That revelation unveiled a realization in the minds of both Christ and Anna. They gazed at each other, immediately communicating telepathically.[They were in our heads?][Impossible! If they truly were in our minds, there's no way we wouldn't have detected them.]Anna is a psychic, after all. A very powerful psychic at that. And after siphoning a percentage of April’s powers, she felt even stronger. So there's no way she wouldn't be able to detect a foreign presence in her mental scape….or so she thought. At that moment, April’s voice intruded on the conversation that Christ and Anna were having telepathically.[Are you kidding me right now? You've had decades of experience as a psychic before me. I awakened my powers just last year, and even I can tell that every consciousness in a mindscape leaves energetic trails, an undeniable footprint that couldn't be erased as long as there's existence itself.

April gazed back up at the older psychic.“You're not wrong, you need to go a little further back. Everything that happened on the battlefield with Dr. Klaus Tank, the thugs, and the mutated creatures was all part of our plan.”Don Christ Stoop spoke with a seemingly unbothered tone, highlighting his impressive leadership ability to appear calm and collected even in the face of disturbances that hit too close to home….literally, in this case.“So the part where Dr. Klaus was able to control April's mind through the previously installed hypnosis, was it all an act?”April clarified on this.“Back then, I hadn't awakened my psychic powers, and I was physically in a weak state. Dr. Klaus Tank has placed the hypnosis in my mind, only to be activated at his command. But he never anticipated that I was actually a psychic. After my powers awoke, you can imagine how insignificant such cheap hypnosis would be with the mental space that my true abilities were evolving to take up.”Lady Anna Ra

The entire hall was shocked by Don Christ Stoop's sudden outburst. Wasn't he in bliss just now? So what happened to cause such a sudden change?!”Seeing confusion on the faces of the medical doctors near him, he reiterated with a harsher tone.“Are you fools fucking deaf or what?! Get this thing off me and the lady!”With that second yell, the atmosphere seemed to pulsate with my gut, causing terror to strike the hearts of everyone. Don Christ Stoop was no longer the same weakling. He now possesses a much stronger aura than before, making him more frightening. This means that whatever they were doing, it was working. Then why is he ordering for it to have it removed? The medical doctors had no choice but to obey though. If it were up to them, they would have advised the Don to persist, but disobedience would most likely cost them their lives. Therefore, the helmets were quickly taken off the heads of Christ Stoop and Anna Ray.As soon as this was done, Anna was furious as she stumble

Hearing the mockery tone turn to that of slight disgust, Don Christ Stoop reached out to caress his lover's hand, as he could tell that she was getting upset.“Enough of that traitor, my love. You're gonna ruin your mood for today's special event. We don't want anything going wrong, right? Let's go through today's special event. We can always catch him in the future. That traitor won't be making it past our net. He's got nowhere to go. He's basically a cornered lamb waiting to be slaughtered.”These words soothed Anna Ray’s mood immensely, and she couldn't help but stare at her lover with soft eyes.“You really get me. That's why I love you.”To that, Christ Stoop raised Anna's hand and gave the back of her palm a tender kiss, all while maintaining eye contacts.“Tonight, I'll take you deeper into paradise, deeper than you've ever been.”Anna pulled her hand out and smacked Christ’s chest while giggling shyly.“You're too shameless.”This scene, if seen by outsiders who had no prior
