"Yes, those thugs threatened to wreak havoc on this neighborhood if you don't move out."

Yondi stood in front of Brian's apartment door with an awkward expression. His tone sounded hesitant, as if he himself wasn't comfortable speaking. Brian remained silent, allowing Yondi to continue his explanation.

Yondi then recounted everything that had happened since that afternoon. Several people had come looking for Brian. They said he had caused trouble, trashed their place, and now they wanted revenge. If Brian stayed, the entire apartment would be affected.

"I never bothered anyone," Brian replied calmly, though his chest felt tight.

"We don't know about that," Yondi replied. "We rarely see you. You always come home late. We don't know what you do outside. And we don't suspect anything about you."

"I work," Brian explained. "I sing at a cafe. Although I've been fired now. But I've been here for almost five years, and now I'm being evicted for causing trouble."

But Yondi wasn't really listening. He just smiled faintly and shook his head slowly, as if the reason no longer mattered.

"You're asked to leave immediately. Otherwise, we'll all be in trouble," he said firmly.

Brian was silent for a few seconds, then nodded slowly. There was no point in arguing. Like it or not, he had to leave. There was no point in maintaining the apartment lease if his presence was endangering others.

Who knew who was behind all this? Was it Alex again, or was there someone else involved? Brian didn't know, and it didn't seem important to think about it now.

"Okay," Brian said finally. "Please give this key to the manager. I don't have time to take care of it."

Yondi accepted the key and nodded. There was no further conversation. Brian went back into his apartment, packing his few belongings. A few items of clothing, shoes, and an old bag. His life was simple, and moving wasn't difficult.

As he closed his bag, Brian let out a heavy sigh. Where was he supposed to go now?

Ting!

His phone rang. A notification had come in. At first, Brian thought it was a text message or a missed call. But when he looked at the screen, his eyes widened.

The money had entered his account.

Brian was stunned. The amount was quite large, and it had arrived much faster than he had imagined. There were no additional messages from the system. No warnings or further instructions. Everything felt silent.

“So fast,” he muttered.

But the amount wasn’t half the price of the old car. It was only two hundred million rupiah. Brian opened the system app on his phone, trying to find an explanation. But the screen was inaccessible. It was as if the system had simply vanished again.

Brian frowned. Was this part of his test? Eviction from his residence? If so, it seemed too simple. With this much money, he could live anywhere without difficulty.

Unconsciously, his gaze landed on a name on the phone screen.

Emily.

Brian was silent for a moment. Suddenly, Emily’s offer crossed his mind. A job as a private driver. Currently, he didn’t have a permanent job. Besides, having a job would certainly reduce people’s suspicions about the source of his money.

Brian sighed, then pressed the call button.

“Why?” Emily's voice came through the phone, as casual as ever.

"I'm ready to be your driver," Brian said, getting straight to the point.

"Okay," Emily replied without hesitation. "Starting tonight, you're officially my driver."

"But I need a place to stay," Brian added. "Do you have a place to stay?"

"Just come to my apartment."

"Huh?"

Brian was surprised. Living in the same apartment as Emily was definitely not what he had envisioned. He knew all too well how Emily's body language, her way of speaking, and her often distracting gazes were.

"My apartment has two bedrooms," Emily continued calmly. "You can use the spare room. Besides, you'll be a driver 24/7, except during class."

"Did you know I was in class?" Brian asked reflexively.

"Of course."

There was no further explanation. Emily immediately hung up.

That same night, Brian moved into Emily's apartment. It was much larger and more comfortable than his old one. At least now, if anyone asked him about his job, he could answer easily. A personal driver made sense.

Brian put his things in the spare room and sat on the edge of the bed for a moment. His life had changed too quickly, but for now, at least he had a place to stand.

Before he could calm down, Emily emerged from her room, neatly dressed.

"Come with me somewhere tonight," Emily said, grabbing her car keys.

"Okay, Madam."

"Just call me Emily. And also, don't wear anything too simple. And one more thing, always wear sturdy shoes when you're working," Emily added.

Diego leaned back slightly, but his gaze remained intense, locking onto Brian's every movement, as if he were trying to read the young man's mind. There was a clear suspicion in his eyes, especially after Brian mentioned a name that shouldn't be known to just anyone."Are you testing me? What do you know about me?" Diego asked in a lower, yet more threatening tone.Brian didn't answer immediately. He remained calm, his shoulders back, as if he wasn't under any pressure. However, deep down, he knew the situation was extremely dangerous. One small mistake could ruin his entire plan, possibly even endanger his life."Nothing," Brian finally replied calmly. "Do I look like someone who's lying?"His tone was even, neither high nor low, but that was precisely where his strength lay. Brian himself was surprised, as this was the first time he'd encountered someone like Diego, who clearly possessed such influence and a pressuring aura. But for some reason, he didn't feel excessive fear. Brian maintained a faint smile, even though the atmosphere in the room felt incredibly tense after his statement.Mr. Thomas's hand, which he had just held, still felt warm, as if a sign that the agreement had truly been reached, even though it was fraught with uncertainty and hidden interests from each party."Hopefully, this collaboration won't be detrimental to us," Brian said in a calm tone, yet filled with implicit pressure."Of course," Mr. Thomas replied quickly, almost too quickly, as if afraid the opportunity would be lost if he hesitated even a little. That evening's meeting ultimately ended on a less-than-comfortable note. While it appeared to be a business deal, each person in the room was actually harboring their own thoughts and plans.Brian had successfully thwarted the wedding plans that night, and at least given Lyna a year to breathe. However, when Mr. Diego rose from his chair, his face still showing dissatisfaction, Brian immediately raised his hand, signaling for

"Who are you?" a deep voice echoed through the room, shattering the previously tense atmosphere of serious whispers and concerned stares.Everyone present seemed surprised to see someone enter unannounced, especially during such an important discussion.Several pairs of eyes immediately focused on the young man standing tall in the doorway, dressed immaculately with an air of confidence unusual for his age."My name is Brian, CEO of Aztech Company," Brian said loudly and firmly, without a hint of hesitation in his voice.Although his face looked young, even too young for the position he claimed, the way he stood, the way he looked at each person in the room, and the calmness he radiated made it difficult for anyone to underestimate him.The authority he carried wasn't feigned; it felt real, as if he were truly used to being in the position. The two people who had been engaged in a serious conversation now exchanged glances, then furrowed their brows, trying to discern who this uninvit

"The police station isn't always a place for the guilty," Emily said casually, a faint smile spreading as she glanced at Lyna through the rearview mirror. Her tone was light, but there was a firmness that couldn't be ignored.Lyna, sitting in the back seat, seemed increasingly anxious. She gripped the hem of her shirt tightly, trying to calm herself, which had been filled with fear. "But what can I do there?" she asked in a slightly stuttering voice, clearly not fully understanding the meaning of the suggestion."Yes, take shelter," Emily answered without hesitation, as if it were the most logical thing. "Brian also said you need a place to take shelter, right? If you rely solely on Brian, you're not necessarily safe. Besides, he himself doesn't necessarily have a safe enough place to hide you."Those words made Lyna pause. She slowly looked at Brian through the gap between the front seats, her eyes hopeful, as if waiting for an answer that would give her some comfort. But Brian remai

“Where are your parents?” Brian asked then, trying to dig deeper so he could understand the gravity of the situation the girl was facing.“At home,” Lyna replied quietly, her voice still holding lingering anxiety. “Tonight they’re having a meeting with that person and several other parties to discuss the wedding.”Brian nodded slowly, trying to connect the pieces of information he’d gathered. “A meeting to make sure everything is going according to plan?” he asked again, confirming it.“Yes,” Lyna replied quickly. “This is my last chance to escape. If I go back home now, I’m sure they won’t let me out again. I’ll probably even be under heavy surveillance until the wedding day.”Lyna’s tone was growing increasingly panicked, making Brian realize how short their time was. However, even so, he couldn’t make a rash decision without careful consideration.“Let’s wait for my master first, okay?” Brian finally said calmly, trying to calm the situation. The words made Lyna’s eyes widen, and h

"What's wrong?" Brian asked after opening his car window slightly, staring at the woman standing outside with a look of hope yet a hint of doubt evident in her eyes. The woman seemed hesitant to speak, her lips moving as if she wanted to say something, but her voice caught in her throat. She clutched the hem of her shirt nervously, her gaze darting around, as if afraid someone might notice her."I…" she said softly, but the sentence trailed off."Just tell me, what's wrong?" Brian urged in a softer tone, trying to reassure her enough to speak. He then opened his car door and moved slightly, making room for her to enter.Without further thought, she quickly got into the car and sat in the passenger seat, as if afraid she would lose the opportunity if she hesitated too long.Brian closed the car door again and studied the woman closely. Her face was familiar, as the typical student on this campus, but he was certain he had never truly met her before."I'm Lyna," the woman finally said,
